3 Hate Crimes on WSU Campus: Call To Action!

Hey guys you remember a few weeks ago I posted about my RA's door getting gratified all over with hate slurs...

well now on the campus a town over (WSU in Pullman Washington, 7 miles from us) there have been more vandalism with hate slurs (based on sexuality and gender identity) and 3 full out attacks

over the state line these are considered hate crimes and after a lot of mishaps and bad juju from administration they are finally being treated as such

our two universities are working together now to help with this issue both the U of I GSA (gay straight alliance) and WSU GBLTA (gay bi lesbian transgendered and allies) are working on getting press coverage and making sure that everyone knows what is going on and working on how to stop things like this from happening

This part of the country is not very accepting of people of different sexual orientations or people who do not adhere to gender roles or specified gender roles.

As I said before I do not identify myself as having a sexuality (yes we know pansexual whatever) anyways I am an active member of GSA and am a rep for the WSU GBLTA and as a citizen of the world and an awakened individual I see this as a very important issue
I will fight for equality on every playing field and even though I do not have a 'sexuality' I do not adhere to gender roles nor conventional roles of 'love' and 'sexuality' therefor I am also at risk.

I have decided to respond to these threats with love not hate, with courage not fear and I ask that all of you stand up for what is right , for equality and love.

There are things you can do, that we can all do on a person to person level. When you here people using hate slurs such as 'that is gay' or 'fagot' please explain why it is wrong. Please when people do not understand or see us as being something separate tell them we are the same. We still love and we still feel and we still hurt. We are all human and we are all equal.

Please explain, don't sit in silence. Every little bit helps, so please while we are out here fighting the big battles you can help us with the small ones. Everyone can lay the ground work for a better tomorrow, so please do your part if not for me for the victims of these bashings, for my friends, for my brothers and sisters, for your friends and your families, because all of us deserve to be treated with respect and love.

Should we keep bumping this thread or start a new one about Prop 8 and Amendment 2 and keep it going as we go towards the election?

Does anyway know how many other states have things on the ballot for November 4 that relate to the rights of diverse families?

I know Florida has one but it is only about rights in civil partnerships (which is equally important!!! cus it's all about the RIGHTS!!!! and the LOVE!!!!)
