So, I've been wondering for a while, how many indigos watch anime or read manga? I'm an avid fan of many series, and a not-too-good doujin-writer in training myself, so I was wanted to know who shared my interests.

Otaku here. My favorite manga is (embarassingly enough, considering I'm male) Fruit's Basket. I've also been reading One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach. I have Death Note on loan from the library and should be getting it soon - it sounds really good! Have you guys heard of a series called "Spiral?"

i love all cyberpunk manga, ghost in the shell, gums, akira need to get more from those author, but exept these and those we got on tv (dragon ball Z, the zodiac knigths ) i don't know much in it =) i generally do not like a not anims, as i tend to find that the author generally want to keep into children /teens without problem and do not abord really complex or 'chocking' point of view which may remove a bit of fun from them =)

Well, it's a live action movie O_o
It's coming out next April. Personally, I'm not too hopeful about it (remember the Mario Bros. live action flick? No? I don't either.), but we'll see. |

I love anime, I am not into hentai though
I love Chobits Dragonball Z GTO Happy Lesson (I know it is more of a kids one .. but funny) Comic Party Fruits Baskets (my wife really loves that more than myself) FMA One of my favourites though it is a short film is quite good Voices From a Distant Star Synopsis What a simple concept for a film, executed so wonderfully. A teenage girl travels in space, and the only way for her to contact the boy she loves back on earth in through her cell-phone's text messaging. But as she drifts further from earth, the messages begin to take a much longer to reach him. He begins to give up on hearing from her again, and she grieves over what she is unable to tell him from this distance. However, the ending is extremely moving and uplifting, more so than I thought this 25-minute film would be. I need not mention how this film was made, by one man on his computer. While the visuals are surprisingly good for a film made with such sparse resources, Makoto Shinkai clearly understands that storytelling is the most important part of animation, and he made a film that is more beautiful and touching than almost anything you'd see in Hollywood, and he did it on his computer, and with a run time of under a half hour. This guy is talented, and I hope to see him directing more animes in the future. Voices of a Distant Star is a superb film by any standards, certainly a must see for anime fans. |

I'm a huge Anime fan! I'm watching about 10 different ones right now.
FMA is my absolute favorite of all time... but I'm also watching Bleach, Code Geass, Moribito (anything that comes on Adult Swim cause that's easy to get to see), and Mystical Detective Loki, Full Metal Panic, Gravitation, and there's others but I can't remember off the top of my head. I've recently seen Death Note, Witch Hunter Robin (easily my second favorite), Wolf's Rain, Ghost in the Shell, Samurai Champloo... on and on... I'm not that into Manga though. I tried to read the FMA Manga, and I just don't seem to have the patience for it. |

Brilliant?! Dude, I picked up the first volume of Cowboy Bebop and it was all about some drag queen named "Marilyn." I hated it. Biggest piece of crap I've ever read, and the artwork was ugly as sin.
Fruit's Basket is good though. It never fails to put me in a good mood. Anytime I feel down, I just reach for a volume of Fruit's Basket (or Aria/Aqua, another shojo series) and I'm smiling in seconds

I also love Avatar: The Last Airbender. I know that some people wont call it anime because its not Japanese, but I don't care. I think those people are being very closed minded. I will always consider it anime, or at the very least "anime-esque." It's very very good. Its not quite as violent as Japanese anime because they just can't get away with that in the U.S. sadly. But the story is phenomenal.
And I agree about Cowboy Bebop. I think its overrated. I never really could get into it for some reason. I think Samurai Champloo is much better. |
