Any Goddess stories?

Has any one had any profound experiences with a Goddess. I know there a many who have been moved by God. I'm interested in your experiences of having an epiphany with a Goddess.

While I come from a traditional belief system of Christianity. I have no problem or conflict with the teachings of Buddah.

Three years ago I had a very profound encounter with a female deity I can only describe as the embodiment of perfect love, wisdom and power. This was during my normal prayer time and I was so moved it chaged the tempo of my life. As I was praying I had a vision of a lovely brunette woman about 7 feet tall approach me. I was sitting in prayer, but standing in spirit to face her. When I looked into her eyes I saw... the knowledge of eternity. (I apologize for my sad finite attempt to describe and infanite being.) I felt completly emersed in all that is loving bliss. Then she asked me a question.

Has anyone had a Goddess experience?

In line with what I believe the real subject of your question is, I have never made contact with a celestial female 'deity', but I know there are some beautiful female souls who are entrenched with various hues of light when detached from this form. I believe whatever question you were asked must have had a profound effect, yet it was sort of like a riddle. Thank you for sharing your experience I really want to hear from others on this as well

Does Mother Earth herself count? as i practice both my Christian Beliefs and my Native American shamanistic belief, i've had profound connection to the Earth itself?

what i want to say is, it there if anyone be will to listen, she does speak thru quiet times and tramaticin storms, in the whisper of the winds as they blow thru the tres, and every twit and flitter of a bird. every plant you touch every stone you carve up, She is there, she was created for this purpose by Wakan Tanka, The Great Spirit

Flying Raven, I have been thinking of this lately. Do you think the spirit of the Earth is a deity? Or a creation of the Supreme Deity? Or both?
I believe in the spirit of the Earth as I have become aware, but I am still learning and would like more points of views. I agree the vibe of the spirit is definitely identifiable with what I would consider feminine.

I have had one experience, but I did not get to see her. I also believe in duality, male and female, who knows maybe God is dual or maybe their is a mother God. With my experience, I was going through a stressful time, somebody who I loved and was a father figure to me passed away. I was stressed out for several days because we knew he was going to die and it just got worse...The day before his funeral, there really isnt any word to describe how I felt, but my chest hurt and I was too tired to even move, I think I was so internally stressed out, that I thought I was going to die too. I was praying that night before the funeral and asked God to help me or I would die of stress. That night (and let me say ahead of time, I have alot of psychic experiences in my dreams) it was as if this lady came, I never saw her, but its hard to explain because I see things symbolically alot, but I saw flowers and wind, I knew she was there and she said her name was Magdelyne. We went parasailing and on a mini vacation...but the strange thing is, when I woke up, I was a new person. It was as if all the stress and weight had been lifted off me. Infact I felt so good, it was as if I had just gotten back from a real vacation. I was able to go to his funeral that day and my chest wasnt hurting anymore, and I was not stressed out or depressed or anything. That for me is strange because that has never happened before it a situation so stressful. I dont know if that is what you are looking for or for somebody who actually has seen a person. I believe what you said and something about this ladys eyes definantly got you because I think you have posted something about it before. Its very interesting...maybe its a clue to something

i Believe in both, the Earth in some ways is a lesser Diety created by the Greater deity, yet you must remember we live on this Deity so we must treat the earth with respect or it will begin to dislike us to a degree, if we showed the Earth abit more respect then we do now prehaps we wouldn't have as many problems.

also most people never read these parts of the Bible and Torah, but it cleary states God is God above the other Deitys but does not Deny there are others. and it also states as follows though i can't remeber the verse or chapter:
"I have given you command over the spirits of the Earth, the Air, and the Sea ." its not entirely word for word, but that is as close as i can get. and this phrase sums up part of the meanings behind Shamanism, but the other part is that we must work in harmony with them and you must understand them and have faith before you can use them. because it also states if you don't take care over them and what you have, it WILL be taken away, i will admit i gave up some of my powers after i relized that i had started abusing them, i'll admit i'm young and youth doesn't require so much power.

Earth is a female deity, and on that in its entirely you can not command, as it says "spirits" plural, that is those who like the rest of use, live on this planet, spirits of the air, think of it in four directions, north(ice/water), south(fire/heat), east(air and warm weather), and west(earth and cool weather) and their genders will vary by direction and what they feel to you, so when i use to invoke them i kept the summons genderless.

the Sea in my veiw is predominantly male, but can be female, or both. i don't work much with water as a pure raw element, it counter acts with my own (wind, fire, earth and sometimes void(or center))

but getting back on subject, when you take from eather, you give back, normally i leave a pinch of tobacco, a coin or two, water/drink and i'll reseed the area with something like moonflowers or seven-o-clocks. if i'm taking things from a tree, be nice, if it has a nail remove it, things like that, it saddens me that someone use what was once the forest beside my house as their personal land fill, before the neighbors cleared it(and it now over grown with weeds and trees which are regrowning) it was filled with trash, bottles of glass and plastic, baby dipers, a car seat, tires, a stroller, and you name it, i probably saw it in there. now there are only tiny shards of glass and i'm reseeding with every seed i get my hands on, sweetgrass, catnip, dandelions(they have a high medicinal value believe it or not) and just about anything else. and its starting to get better now, animals are returnng to the area, and for once i ACUALLY saw a squirel on my end street for the first time in years.

ehhh i think i turned this from religion to a rant on ecology and clean environment...

but to summ it up, I see her as Mother Earth, by my beliefs feminine femine Deity created by a greater Deity, God the creator, Great Spirit, choose what you wish to call him(and sometime her)

oh PS, Jewish lore also refers to God in the femine calling him/her El Shadai (i think thats right, maybe i have the wrong name but i KNOW its a name given)(the breasted one), plus no one even said that God was strictly male, that just the enterpretation by a male audiance and writers, and hebrew doesn't nesecerally have a gender oriented grammer format if i heard right from my world religions teacher.... think on that

on another note, i also follow most catholic beliefs and i'm fond of Mary, mother of Christ, i have(and say) a rosary, made of Olive seed(pits) and brass links. Its a very rustic an humble rosary, from Bethleham. from Bethleham i also have an antique prayer rug of rougth sheeps wool(Jewish/Islamic prayer rug) i use it, when not its stays up, and my room has a rather unique shrine to God, Christ and Mary. i have a alter tht is made up of books stacked flat and covered with a cloth with the chinese symbol for harmony on it, then i have a crystal(amethyst, Native American) an incense burner(taoist), Finger cybals(gyspy), a dorje of brass and mala of rhudashka beads(buddhist), a blue glass statue of Mary with child Christ, a twin folding picture fram with the Devine mercy on oneside and the virgin of guadalupe(to whom i have devotion) on the other side, then cards with various beatified(blessed) and saints, and a candle on either side one being the cruisifixion the other virgin of guadalupe. then about it i have on the wall, pictures of that sacred heart and another alternate painting of devine mercy between them a crusifix, above that a living cross. and hanging off the bottom corner of my alter is my medicine bag that i made.

and i keep a medicine wheel to represent the earth above my bed, though my mum though of it as a dream catcher when she saw it, she doesn't follow Native beliefs any.

For me i find perfect balence in both, just others may consiter it superstisious, i don't care though.

First THANK YOUUUUUUUUUU for your explanation and interpretation of things. I do indeed know about the name El Shaddai and its root in Judaism, many ascribe it to the nurturing and providing nature of God but shun that it has any female connotations for God as a deity. Everything is subject to interpretation and I believe we draw from life what is needed for ourselves. I hope for the best and hope what I am drawing is sufficient. Thanks for the lead with the above referenced scripture...I have been having a chain of experiences lately and have been searching for some answers...even in old astrology and Sumerian beliefs.

Thanks again for being so open with me, I greatly appreciate it and am considering all of your words and thoughts

^^ This is very thorough and deep. It actually sounds like a physical representation of a lot of the doctrines swirling around in my head lol things I have studied...VERY interesting. Thank you It really makes me think. I think I have read it three times already.

Your very welcome, most people find my beliefs odd, but most of them are rather narrow minded, i live in the bible belt, and suprisingly that was taught by my friend's old preacher, he even said it says God is both genders and the he modeled both man and woman after himself.

my friends find it odd, i burn japanese incense almost daily in the burner as a gift. and if you want more, on the shelf under it are about 4 cat statues and various vases and an urn where i put excess ashes from the burner to save them for a later point in time for use(as the burner has got knocked over a few times in the past and the ashes to scattered and filled with, i guess uncleanliness since the floor tends to be dusty with various things, dust it self containting stagnant energy)

I do not think your beliefs are odd at all...well I am a bit odd so maybe I am not the best to say but to me it really shows an intricate level of connectivity on a mental and spiritual level.

i have never found it odd, i just recently retrived my baby book from my stoarage outside and was going to set that up as well (somewhere) on my alter as it has the names of my grand parents and great grand parents who are all decesed, as a memorial to my ancestors, i had it on the one in our old house before i ever bought my Mary, but then it also hand my maple wood wand i had made which was the tip of my first attempt at carving a wooden sword, i covered it in Runes, to which i use to have a full translation from AtoZ(and it took about 2 weeks to find them all) it was my own rune since i kinda mixed all them together...
