i'll say... knowledge and wisdom are often presented in forms that are perceptible to those who are 'ready' for them..

cayce predicted that the secrets of atlantis would be divulged in the latter 20th century (exact date in the 60's or 70's) so in this i think we can decide that one should not instantly beleive everythnig one reads.

but who does??

i found the rest of cayce's writings on atlantis to be interesting, i've seen many writings and works based on the same or similar premises. as an afficionado of logic (and solipsist) i'm not interested in proof of encient empires or proof that the world existed 50 years ago.

i'll give a thumbs up to the law of one tho.

I see a lot of threads on Atlantis but not as many on Lemuria... I feel a greater connection to the second than to the first.

Anyone interested in Cayce's readings should look into this book. Cayce had said that a "John Penial" would bring the teachings the world finally needed(or was ready for rather!)to light, and he did. It is a wonderful book, Cayce's stenographer or whatever just spelled the name differently. Alot of his subject's readings linked back to Atlantis; so many in fact that there is a book Edgar Cayce on Atlantis, where these accounts are recorded and analyzed. To me, "The Lost Teachings of Atlantis" clearified a picture that I had been forming in my mind for years. An eclectic, gnostic view of all the world religions saying virtually the same thing, treat others as you want to be treated. the golden rule. We are all one, why hurt yourself. Don't let these silly bodies fool you.

On my first read, I made it to the last chapter and set it down. On my second reading, I finished the first section, which includes the philosophy of the Children of the Law of One, how Jon Peniel came to find his place and finally write the lost teachings, even the oral traditions which had previously been exclusive to the order. I was told that most read the book to whatever point of "spiritual awareness" they are at, and then often leave it unfinished. It tells a beautiful story of our descent from "heaven" or our intimate connection to the spirit, where we unknowingly had universal consciousness, and in the process of lowering our vibration, as we were once high frequency, high vibrational spirit beings, as we lowered our vibration, in order to enjoy things on this physical plane, we lost our universal (god) consciousness because our frequency was lower, we were essentially trapped. the story goes on to tell that a second wave of spirits consciuosly lowered their vibration to materialize, as a rescue mission to save their fallen kindred spirits now trapped on earth. The leader was suppossedly grand master Toth, who later reicarnated as Christ, and has been going back to keep spreading the light.
I have yet to act fully on the second section, which outlines the routines fully from meditation practices to diets of the CLO.
Are you stuck in the book, or in life?
I may could help you with the text, but I myself am stuck in life, struggling to find a monastic community. That is what led me here to this site. I have had no luck finding monasteries in the U.S. just retreats and educational programs
I'm still looking though, if I have luck I will post it.
This site could provide somewhat of a community, insofar as it brings together the like minded, but I NEED to get away from the stress of reality and focus completely on my path. Intrestingly though, the book was supposedly published at the time it came out because the CLO monastery in Tibet had been destroyed, and the number of teachers was dangerously low, so the text was put out as a teacher in itself.
Anyway.....
I have began trying some of the meditation practices and breath work.
I tried the cold shower thing for a while but quit. I need to refer back to the book more actually in my meditation.
If you find any monastic communities associated w/ the CLO, please post.

There will be no 'new' Atlantis. It is like Lemuria, destroyed for a good reason, part of a divine plan for our spiritual evolution. I highly doubt that anywhere will become close to either one. Why would you wish this upon your country?
Have you researched this topic, or Atlantis, at all? Not to be negative, just wondering what you are basing this on.

perhaps, though everywhere you go you can find people who defy the norms/stereotypes

The Children of the Law of One & the Lost Teaching of Atlantis was an amazing book. I've read it twice so far and if I hadn't loaned it to a friend I'd be reading it again.
On the issues of development as outlined by the book:
Controlling your selfish self takes large amounts of self control. Self control can be garnered by meditation, fasting and personal afirmations.
The CLO's website www.atlantis.to also has many spiritual growth CD's for guided meditations. Deffinetly get the CD's not the MP3s. It will take a week or two to get the CD's but a CD will far more accurately replay recorded material than an MP3. MP3s are compressed music files that drop many important elements of the recording.

I highly recomend that anyone interested in the CLO also read their Golden Rule Workbook and the Ra Materials. The workbook gives you numerous ideas for living by the law of one and forming communities or groups to live unselfishly together as well as outlinning how to do personal afirmations. The Ra Materials are actualy a number of transcribed notes of a communication with a soposedly alien entity calling itself Ra. Many of Ra's statements coincide with the CLO. Although while the CLO state that all selfish individuals will be stuck in lava form for 10k years, the Ra state that all who fail to reach enlightenment or close to it before the earth changes vibration, will simply have to reincarnate on different planets and try again.

Also, I'm working on a plan to form a Law of One community in Colorado, USA. In the CLO newsletters Jon Peniel recomends northern Colorado, around Denver and Boulder, as being good areas to gather in the US. Also, he recommends that area's with the largest numbers of higher vibrational people will be the safest in the comming earth changes. Colorado is well known for its environmental protection policies and the only Buhddist college is in Boulder. I can't think of a better area in the US. Perhaps a better area in the world would be the Yucatan Peninsula where the last CLO monastery is soposed to be. Hopefully I can visit the Yucatan some day but I doubt I'll find the monastery.

Selfishness is the cause of all the worlds problems.

I whole-heartedly agree- to me the book has been the primary source of inspiriation and inner change, it is a long and difficault process to make the shift from loving selfishly to loving unselfishly, and although my progress is far from over, I can see the results working in my life. I too am in desperate need of a manastic community, and a true teacher, although as the book points out they are extremely limited now. I know that even without the guidance of a 'true' teacher, being with other like-minded, loving, compassionate souls would greatly benefit me on my path, as I know it would many. I was told that there are secret sects of the CLO in the Mt.s of Colorado, but have yet to find any legitimate info on these rumors. I myself strive to oneday establish such a place, but at this time I have only the property to do so, not the financial means or enough of a local following.
Please keep me informed as to how your project unfolds. I just read the book for the second time and got alot more out of it, especially the metaphysical teachings. I hope to begin the exercises outlined in the last section soon, but as of now I only experiment with the different meditations. I find they are insightful, and if routinley followed I know they would greatly benefit me, but those such as 'The Star exercise' just aren't the same with one person . I desperately seek out others with whom this book has 'struck an inner chord of truth" and admire you for your efforts. PM if you'd like, I love talking about this book-I spread it everycahnce I get. I f you'd like, I have posted a few prose pieces inspired from the book in the creative section of this forum, check them out and give me some critiques.
