When I was a freshmen in high school, I once had a very vivid vision. The vividest vision I've ever had. It was of a news broadcast saying they had found the cure for AIDS. I have no clue when this will happen but I've always felt in my heart that it will.

Perhaps this is a step towards it. I'm so happy. Imagine how much suffering would end.

I know right!? It is so wonderful. So many people won't have to suffer anymore. Not only people with the disease but their friends and families too, they'll no longer have to worry.

I'm still praying.

Me too.

I find it so cool how AIDS has been around for a while and many people didn't think that there could be a cure for it. And I would always wonder when the day would come where we found the cure or a lead to the cure for AIDS, but never did think it would come when I was around or at least within a few years of me being old enough to actually know what it is and what it does, etc. But it did happen. That's what I find kinda cool

Aids is a mutagenic illness,

what does that mean?

Mutagenic - it was an animal disease - I think in Africa or Asia with primates - then it mutated to a human virus.

This news sent chills up my spine. I do remember the world before AIDS - just like a lot of hopes and dreams I had way back then.

I'm happy science is getting closer and closer to finding a cure.

But I have to say, it won't make a difference to the people who, like me, have no health insurance to recieve these treatments. Most of the people sick and dying from aids are the poorest people in the world. If I found out I was HIV positive today I would not be able to get on the medications or recieve any treatments.

All I'm saying is it's wonderful for them to find treatments for things, but it's not until we learn to take care of each other or have some sort of health system that isn't corrupt and for profit, that real healing will come to the world. Of course I say this as an American who has never had health care a day in her damn life, I realize other people in some other countries have health care systems like in England and Canada.

Well hopefully Obama and Congress will help with that...

this is good news, but i dont think the cure is in the physical part of the dna that is being transplanted, i believe the cure will involve dna, but it will be the metaphysical aspect of dna that does the healing

yes actually the university does offer Healthcare for about 800 a semester.. not too bad I guess... I'm not real sure I haven't actually ever paid for healthcare yet since I'm barely not a minor anymore

actually I don't get a choice in the matter the university requires we have some sort of health insurance. If we can't provide proof of some other health care plan they charge the 800 to your tuition fees
