Well have you heard about the the theory that the Sepiroth that you follow through out the game is actually Jenova? The real Spiroth doesn't appear until you go up to the crater.
When I find the link I'll post it. It is very interesting. |

i don't remember exactly, but the jenova project is something like a projet led by the shinra to over infuse ppl with mako energy in kindof cocoon, to make them special soldier, and sephiroth is part of the ancient, and in fact if you blow out reactors in the begining of the game your characters just seem to pop up from nowhere into the avalanche team to blow up the mako reactors, but in fact its because these experiments were actually led into the reactors =) and your characters is like being part of the experiment when he was younger and enroled in the shinra soliders =)
http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=IaV1oNYDAJg ok in fact the jenova seem to be a thing that was targeted to produce human with the power of the ancient (the cetras) and sepiroth was the result of what was produced =) Last edited by h0bby1; 08-20-2008 at 08:44 AM. |

Well, I've always been intrigued with parallels between ShinRa Inc. and modern oil companies. Play around with that for a while and then think about the pillar incident over sector 7 and see what you can come up with.
Also, kudos if you caught the Cold War themes in Final Fantasy VIII, and extra special kudos if you managed to spot the alchemical and masonic themes of Kingdom Hearts

I also realized that FFVII was probably a subtle (or not so subtle) call to action about the corporations that are ravaging the earth but I was mostly talking about in game theories like the time warp in FFVIII and the theory that Rinoa and Ultimetcia are actually the same person or the Jenova theories and stuff like that |

The theory that Rinoa and Ultimecia are the same person is brilliant, but Tetsuya Nomura has denied that was his intent. Still, I'd like to believe it's true, because it puts the game together perfectly and helps to explain who Ultimecia was. Here's the way I see it....
When Squall goes into the time rift at the end of the game, it's sort of implied that he vanished from memory. However, Nomura cleared this up by adding the scene at the end, where Rinoa is with him on the balcony of the Garden. But what if Squall really did die in the time loop, and Rinoa went insane with grief? She would have used her sorceress powers to try to compress time so that she could relive the moment when she met Squall on the dance floor over and over again, without ever having to see it end. As a result, she became Ultimecia. This would explain why there's a scene at the end where there's a flashback to the dance sequence, only Ultimecia's face is superimposed over Rinoa's face. In that case, when the party went into the future to stop Ultimecia, they actually reversed the sequence of events that created her in the first place by saving Squall from being forgotten. Either that, or Rinoa was just hallucinating when she "saw" him on the balconey. That was the first thought that came to my mind when I finished the game. In which case, the events of the game (and the party's attempt to stop Ultimecia) would paradoxically have been the catalyst for Rinoa becoming Ultimecia in the first place. O_o |

Me too, and maybe that's why a lot of people miss the Cold War references in FFVIII. The East/West conflict is very similar to the situation of the United States and the USSR during the Cold War. Lunatic Pandora would be the atom bomb that both nations are competing for (but which would ultimately destroy the world). The literal "iron curtain" around Esther (the eastern nation) was a really cool touch.

It made Ultimecia more real I think. It gave her a reason to want achieve time compression. It really bugged me that she had no back story which made me to believe that they wanted us to make this whole Rinoa connection. During the final battle when she is about to be defeated she says some pretty ominous things like "no matter how hard you try to hold on to time it slips away." to me those seemed like she knew everything about their situation Also Rinoa actually has Ultimecia's powers. Ultimecia gave them to Edea who gave them to Rinoa. How could the same power exist in to separate people at the same time unless they were the same person? I don't know that part was always a bit fuzzy. |

Also if you've read the whole Harry Potter series the last 3 books really seemed like they had some connections with World War II and the Holocaust |

mm i can say i really like final fantasy, i have played final fantasy X & X-2 and final fantasy XII, plus i have watched both films of final fantasy. The first film i liked more, because there was more like energy involved, and there was also a Gaia who was like a living earth.
i havent compared final fantasy world to our world and their similarities.. but i perceive final fantasy theory just as something what could be parallel to this earth |
