that is kind of what I meant by metaphor
I personally think that heaven and hell are metaphors for what your life is like
if you do the things that you need to to get to heaven then you will be happy in life which is the true heaven
if you do things that are not good, that would send you to hell then your life will suck and you probably won't like yourself which is the true hell

of course maybe some people would like hell and so it would be opposite for them

          they are states of mind,

produced by either love or hatred,

and the root of it all is ignorance,

          ignorance of what,

          of the dharma.

          when you die,

you are still the same person,

          but!

you are not in the physical world anymore,

you will now find yourself exactly where your state of mind is vibrating,

a world made to suit you to a ¨T¨,

so for example say you are intolerant of others, racist, prejudice, etc,

well guess what....you`ll find yourself in a place that is dark,

          a place of shadows,

with other entities.....most of them like you,

they are not friendly and will try to torment you,

          because they live there,

and well you just got there and don`t know your way around,

the problem is that people do not investigate these things to see if they are true,

and just waste their time here on earth pursuing sensual pleasures,

arguing about trivial things that do not have relevance beyond death,

it`s really sad the way things are right now,

and it`s all due to stubborness.

I think that when we die... I don't really know. There has to be a point to be good in life. But I just am not sure God would condemn his sinners to an eternity of death and destruction. I suppose we shall all find out.
The profundity of those three simple words I had just uttered rang true in the overt silence. I loved him. Even though we had just met… I felt as if I had known him a thousand years. He had opened something inside of me that I could feel and touch, but never held to key to. That something was my soul, peeping out through the corners of my worldly flesh, but always afraid to illustrate itself in true form. He had showed me my soul. And for that, love was the least I could give to him.

Your soul is your connection to god,

you are a ray of light from that star,

the ray should not get stuck.

[QUOTE=secluded;306805]I think that when we die... I don't really know. There has to be a point to be good in life.[.quote]

Why can't being good be an end in itself?

"Hell" is not the external punishment of God inflicted on humanity; it's the final destination of a world system gone out of control. Look around at the headlines; we're doing a fine job of creating 'hell' for ourselves. God's message to humanity is: "It's not too late; you can turn away from this cycle of self-destruction and embrace a better path - the path that leads to Life, which is the path of Jesus."
"Where there is love, there is life, And where there is life, there is hope, (There is hope...), And in hope we find the sight to see
                  The essence of divinity
                  " - The Cruxshadows, "Defender."

I couldn't answer the poll because it didn't have an answer for me.

I believe all things exist, somehow, somewhere, in someones mind or in some realm of reality. Everything is everything. That is all.

                    Leaves fluttering before the wind;
                    How to convey their splendor?
                    I know this stone pagoda
                    With my entire body,
And laugh at the changes of earthly life.

Yes, but they aren't places they are a metaphor.

I voted that but, I believe they are places our souls can ascend or descend to.
I think of it as hell, being the noob or first level of existence...an area of the other side created by human-thinking souls, and created by "sufferers" people who like to suffer, like to be martyrs and like to think they're terrible. The other side, is my view on heaven. You make of it what you will, just like earth-life. But I think that the life we live on the other side is determined by who we are and what we've learned. I think there's 7 levels of consciousness. The "noob" level is the first and new soul level, not so much a soul level that's new, or that the souls that reside there are new, but it's the beginning level. I think a new soul can come from any level of consciousness. Except five, six and seven. Those levels are the most fluid and godlike and do not need to reincarnate, so they're more advanced and what we're all striving for. Six and seven are the most fluid, and the most god-oneness.

But that's just my adaptation of views based on other people's ideas and research.
I think it's whatever you say it is. If hell exists, you'll make it exist...if heaven does, you will make it exist. Just like earth-life. We make our own world.
"So in life, some enter the services of fame and others of money,
but the best choice is that of these few who spend their time in the contemplation of nature,
and as lovers of wisdom." - Pythagoras

Heaven and Hell are states of being.
Being good or bad effects this state by your perception of that thing or circumstance.
In other words, you manifest what you are feeling because that is what you percieve it to be.
To live in Heaven you must bring all of your intent in line with Gods pure will.
To live in hell you just let the world do it for you.

Heaven and Hell; there are many names for these two ideas in over hundreds of different cultures. Might it all be coincidence, a misunderstanding, or could it possibly be that both merely were not a mishap of the human condition and both do exist in some shape, form, fashion? Saying something doesn't exist, does not make it true no matter how much it is said or how much conviction put in the statement. The same for saying something does exist applies.

I believe in a hell, but not the hell souls burn for eternity in. One that, per say, is where all nightmares do exist, only sleeping. Ancient beings, some that have long since disappeared, but most slumber waiting for the time of their release. Light would mean nothing if the darkness was extinguished. Everything anyways needs certain catalyst to keep evolving.

Heaven: God is everywhere and a very busy individual, I doubt heaven exist as the bible portrays it to. Angels singing, trumpets blaring, blinding light? I don't believe in that type of heaven.

Well, there you go. I threw my two cents into the wishing well.
