  • Strong Women

If you can believe it, I found this in a greeting card, I was looking for a card for a friend of mine who is going through a rough time, and this caught my eye...while it wasn't the right card for her, I bought it anyway, for the message is profound. It also reflect how I am feeling about myself and my life right now, and how I hope that I can learn and grow from the mistakes I have made and the experiences I have had...and I would like to share it here.

(A note to the men - while it was written with women in mind, this goes for you too! For anyone strong enough to keep trying, no matter how miserably they mess things up).

STRONG WOMEN ( by Brenda Hager)

Strong women are those who know
the road ahead will be strewn with
obstacles, but they still choose to walk
it because it's the right one for them.

Strong women are those who make
mistakes, who admit to them, learn
from those failures, and then use
    that knowledge.

Strong women are easily hurt, but
they still extend their hearts and
    hands, knowing the risk and
accepting the pain when it comes.

    Strong women are sometimes beat
down by life, but they still stand
back up and step forward again.

    Strong women are afraid. They
face fear and move ahead to the
future as uncertain as it can be.

Strong women are not those who
succeed the first time. they're the
ones who fail time and again, but
still keep trying untill they succeed.

Strong women face the daily trials
of life, sometimes with a tear, but
always with their heads held high
    as the new day dawns.

      I like it.

Strength is hard to define but this card has done it very well.

In my hands I hold a candle whose flame is small to see,
And if I give but one light to you my life is filled for me.
But...In your hands you hold a torch for many eyes to see,
So hold it high that they may light their candlewicks from thee... موم γλυφή !

LOL - yeah, you should have seen me in the store, I had read it through about six times, shivering, before I realized that my shopping cart and I were blocking the aisle and a regular que was developing on both sides

It is amazing, when you think of it, just how much a person can truly put up with before they crack altogether

I've known women (and men) who have been through hell and back, and somehow managed to emerge on the other side with their sanity and integrity intact
