For me I've had multiple spirit animals. Cat, Dog, Wolf, Panther, and Eagle. I've had help from a lion spirit guide at several points in my life as well. The wolf has always been with me as well as the dog and panther. Eagle came about really once I started getting more in tune with myself and began truly growing spiritually.

As far as it comes to honoring my spirit animals I pretty much take the lesson that they bring to me and go as far as I can till it's time for my next lesson haha. I generally learn something new pretty much whenever I dream and can recall it because I begin to ask questions such as why did I see this or do this in my dream and so forth. I'm constantly trying to develop my own energies/abilities and I find myself being taught by these animals. They are there to help you along in life.

The way I figured it out is by pretty much asking my guides to come to me. I was able to recall the dreams that took place involving them. I had also wrote some dreams out before so I had somewhat been wiring my brain to remember and recall dreams so it helped as well. The main thing rly however is just to ask them to come to you and for you to be able to recall the dreams. It's important to be specific in what you want.

Well, first ask yourself is there a specific animal that you've always been just drawn to? Or feel that you have a connection with? Is there an animal that you see a lot, or have had strange encounters with at all? You don't necessarily have to like the animal, it doesn't have to be your favorite, just the one you're drawn to the most. If you can't answer any of these questions and get the same results, then meditate on it. Ask to be shown what/who your animal totem/spirit animal is.

Fixed Totems: Spirit - Raven, Male - Red Fox, Female - Raccoon (lol). Also some other totems that float in and out for life's lessons that I've encountered thus far: Dragonfly, Frog, and as of today: Bat. Blue Butterfly.
I listen and "talk" to black birds. That's for my Raven totem.

                      The Dolphin.

                      I also have some eagle.

Dolphins are pack animals that watch over mankind as spiritual guardians.

The eagle because it's a royal bird, fierce and a king of it's domain, but also very lonely.

Accept that life is as much about being dragged through the mud as coasting through the sky; they are the same, the difference lies in how you perceive them.

This was really interesting. I've always been drawn to amethysts...or perhaps they're drawn to me.....and I always wondered why since they aren't my "birthstone". But this chart says otherwise. Also said my element was water, which is again correct as I'm a water sign.
                          Thanks for sharing!

Amethyst is a stone of the mind. It helps to bring calmness and clarity where there is anxiety and confusion. Wear Amethyst if you want to get in touch with your intuition, your feelings, or your values. Amethyst helps one learn of all things spiritual, mystic and psychic. Especially aids sobriety; alcohol, food, sex, and other addictions. Eases compulsive/obsessive behavior (desire for food, tobacco, drugs, alcohol, etc.) Famous ancient detoxifier (especially helps with poisons, alcohol.)
Stress:It is very good for overworked, overstressed, or overwhelmed metal states because of it extreme calming mental effects. It is considered an extremely spiritual stone. In the Old Testament, it is written that Aaron, the Jewish High Priest, wore the amethyst in the center of his breastplate, and it was said to induce visions and revelations. Many people sleep with an Amethyst crystal under their pillow for this reason. The Catholic bishop still wears an Amethyst ring on the second finger of his right hand. Addictions: Amethyst comes from a Greek word, amethusos, meaning not drunk. There is a ancient myth about Bacchus turning a young maiden to stone, and in remorse, he poured wine on the statue, staining it purple and creating amethyst. Goblets of Amethyst were said to prevent the drinker from being overwhelmed by the drink’s spirit. Today those trying to overcome addictions, especially alcohol addiction, use the healing powers of Amethyst as an aid.
Protection: Amethyst is a crystal of protection, because it repels more than it attracts.
Spirituality:Amethyst fosters healing and selflessness, and is associated with increased nobility, spiritual awareness, meditation, balance, psychic abilities, inner peace, and positive transformation. Some say it should be called the Stone of Transformation. Known also as "Metamorphosis".
Amethyst calms the mind and helps us to connect with our spiritual nature, while Rose Quartz soothes the heart, brings love into our life, and heals past emotional wounds. Black Onyx protects us from negative influences, and the negative opinions of others. Clear Quartz crystal, (an energizer and amplifier ) will enhance the effects of all crystals. Together they balance Heart, Mind, and Soul. Welcome =)

I keep an amethyst geode next to my pillow. One night I had a semi-lucid "vision" where I could actually see beams of light transmitting from the geode to my head. It was really cool. I also keep them all over the house. People randomly give them to me or they find their own way to me. But that geode vision was one of the most intense things I've experienced.
