Infinitely Shrinking Private Self

I read this article & I am just not sure what to think.

Basically they argue that we are going to continue a fast progression towards sharing our private information with one another on things like Facebook until privacy is irrelevant. Although they describe it as a version of Zeno's paradox, I would say the experience is more like slowly moving in to a nudist camp.

But are we moving towards less privacy? How is that going to affect us?

I am waiting to be removed from the site so i will stay and reply to this because i find it interesting.

With the ascent into a global network of information our children will less and less value privacy as a requirement. Our childrens' children will prefer communication via electronics rather than face to face. Anything is isn't participated through a screen will be awkward and most will find superfluous . They will have virtually no sense of privacy as we do in these times... People will just expect you to know everything about them already. Their favorite topics to speak about, books, shows, ect ect. I believe its going to be a hyper space reality eventually. The government i think has always secretly planned this "weening the masses off privacy" scheme. Imagine how much control they could have if your entire life is available to the stroke of a key? Who is to say they won't be able to just 'delete' your existance from the known cyber world. scary thought. good thread
