invincibility

This thread is regarding whether or not people can become invincible if they know how to control chi within their body through various martial arts?
I believe it is possible, as when I used to do judo and wrestling when I was younger I was subjected to small amounts of pain frequently and daily to the point that my body no longer went into shock and pain when I had harder blows eventually – this lead to my pain threshold to become higher.
This improved with meditation or as I called it at the time, learning to zone out.
By using the zone out method too I used to be able to avoid sickness and serious injuries. But bouts of depression can affect this process and make you become ill as you no longer care anymore.
But what I would like to know is, if everybody practised the martial arts and learning to control the chi in their body, will this make our bodies invincible to injuries and pain etc? Okay, perhaps not invincible to death solely by controlling chi – but using this method as a step to trying to find immortality.
What do you think?
