This thread is not intended for any hard feelings or discomfort but I would like to talk about this...

Some people use religion as a weapon so they can have a fight.
Some people use religions as an excuse for rude or discriminative behavior.
Some people use religion to justify why they are the way that they are.
Some people claim that they believe in goodness and charity etc, when in fact they use religion to cause disharmony amongst others not of their own belief system.

I would like to suggest, for the benefit of every member and future member of this board - to leave religion at the door. Religion is often used as a weapon of segregation or pure simplistic argumentation for argument sake.
Please, we do not need this behavior here. Not everybody thinks like you.

My purpose of the thread is not to upset anybody.

But, I am very tired of people causing arguments and then using their religion to support why they are narrow minded and argumentitive towards others.
It is like to mention your religion it will solve an argument, when in fact it is often a battle of the wills forever, as people often get heated over the subject.
If you are to talk about your religion then do not use it to be defensive of offensive, for this is not a holy act at all.
Think about it, think before you speak, and remember to respect others and keep an open mind IS THE ONLY WAY to bring peace on earth!

Is this a suggestion or a new rule?

Either way, we do have a Spirituality section. That goes hand in hand with religion.

It's a suggestion I am not admin deary, and well raise religion up if you want to, but sometimes it offends people and it can lead into heated debates which last forever.
I just think its best if people avoided certain subjects to maintain the peace.
Doesnt mean you should get offended by my opinion, I mean why should you?

Yeah, military doesn't go well for me unless I am in charge. Fortunately, thanks to weak tech skills I have never Administered a forum for long. Which is probably good since I feed my ego enough.

I joined this forum because people here actually seem to know about religion and philosophy. I would have to go elsewhere if people stopped talking about it.

Fair enough with what you're saying RM, but the fact is that religion is a huge part of peoples lives and they are trying to intergrate their former beliefs with a new way of knowing and people do need to talk about it. Rather than leaving religion at the door, we should simiply encourage people to be more open minded and keep things at a discussion level, rather than an argument.

yes you can be open minded by some people who bring up religion try and convert others into their ideas - and they get heated over it and thats when the negative energy starts flying around and I am sick and tired of having to pick up the pieces of the people in IS who are vulnerable to those energies as they are empaths. I ask for the religious people to be considerate of the empaths and energies that are flying around but they seldom are!

Well, religion can be argumentive that's for sure. There have been wars fought over the Unitarianism vs. Trinitarianism debate. (Which I'm starting to get into on here). But on the whole, all religions have morals that most of us can agree with. Most religions have stories of heros, and so forth.

The problem is that we're all human, and tend to focus on the differences rather than the similarities.
How are people spreading negative energy?

I dont mind people talking about religion, but just dont be mean!!
And it is important to respect others beliefs even if they differ from your own.

yea in so many ways religion is THE reason im here. Im mostly right brained scientifically orientated but alo of the people here arent on that thread.

If i said stop speaking about scientific theories because there confusing and contradictory i would get laughed off this forum.

I think if people are here to talk about religion and there quoting ancient texts then we have no place to disrespect there beliefs so i see the underlieing nugget of truth in your thread raven.

And secondly i agree, if there just quoting off the top of there head the majority of the time and using religiously charged arguements we shuld close this thread now before we turn into the sunnis and shi'ites.

Wars have been raged over religious ideaology for years and christians have too been caught up in it for a few centuries. Forget all that crap and just find the love in your religion or even if you have a hotch potch of ideaologies, keep them moderate and compassionate.
