Do you know of any dieties or spirits which help people who have problems with focus, especially in the creative arts etc.

Reason for question;
I am a little bit of everything in creative arts, but I have no focus to finish what I start properly. Those things I do finish are written on a 2 hour writing whim, which is very rare - I love writing and have lots of ideas, but I need focus to finish from beggining to end.

My problem is, I get between 15 story ideas a year on average, and it throws me off focus, I can work on 2 or 3 ideas at once, but I loose focus with the newer ideas and I lack confidence that I am any good. But everyone who reads my stories, the better ones and not the short ones, claim I am really very good.

all i can relate to you are my experiences with creativity. whenever i begin to lack focus with my art, i get away from all my past art, and surround myself with blanck canvases. then i just kindof dance with my paint brush around them haha.

also, i dont know how this can relate to writing, but the absolute most helpful thing for me is to do a self portrait. i guess it asserts myself and lets me know that i CAN do this.

Hmmm. Its hard to explain, but for me, I sort of connect spiritually/subconsciously with a spirit muse of sorts. I'm not talking about the Muses of Greek mythology, necessarily, just a presence I always feel when I am about to create. Whether art, music, or writing, I let my conscious mind relax and I feel something almost working through me, guiding my hands or opening a flow of words. Its an odd sensation, but I love it at the same time. I know there is a mixed debate on this one, but a glass of wine or two also helps when I'm having a creative block - it lets me relax when my mind won't quiet down a bit and the words or art just come.

I'm not sure of a particular deity for focus and finishing what you start, but if you find one, please let me know!

My current solution to this (apparently common among indigos) lack of focus is to jump from one painting to the next. I have at least 7 paintings on the go right now, at various stages of completion. A few of them have already been over a year in the making.

I keep all of my paintings in view and work on them when they "call" to me. I wait until I feel a little nudge from within and I will go to that painting and pick up my brushes. I feel I do my best painting this way.

There is definitely a connection to the divine for me when I am working in my studio. I know when I am working on the right painting when I quickly become "plugged in" to the divine and I achieve a certain state of altered conciousness through concentration.

I guess my suggestion to you is that you keep a series of notebooks on a shelf, with each one dedicated to a certain piece of writing, containing your thoughts and ideas. Put a picture on each one that reminds you of that work and keep them visible. Work on them when they call to you. If they get finished, great! If not, work on something else and keep editing and adding to them.
