    Falun gong

This ad goes away when you register.
I'm interested in the Falun Dafa stuff but I have some questions to anyone who might be ale to answer. Why do the traditional qi gong masters and traditional Kung Fu masters not like these people. I read many things regarding the falun dafa ideas and I haven't noticed anything negative about. I do however respect the traditionalists due to their practices being very effetive and ancient.

I practice traditional qi gong. I don't agree with some of the idea and postures presented by the Falun dafa but thats a fairly common thing in any practice. I don't see that being the reason for this strange conflict however.

I have been witness and test dummy for many traditional accomplishments.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me please?

    Thank you in advance.

Li Hongzhi explains the difference between Wushu Qigong or traditional Martial Arts and Falun Dafa in this excerpt from his book "Zhuan Falun":
    http://www.falundafa.com/book/eng/zfl_66.htm

The practice of Falun Dafa is a very controversial topic in China. The practice grew to the point where it was a threat to the Chinese Communist Party and practitioners were exiled and tortured for practicing. It is very political. There is a lot of information on the net about this. There is also a lot of mis-information out there. It is best to read about it yourself and make up your own mind.

Here is a forum that shows this difference in opinion:

I believe people should have the freedom to practice whatever spiritual exercises they want. Falun Dafa explains how to open the celestial or third eye and there are many other spiritual practices that explain this same process eg. Hinduism. If the goal is to spread love and positive thought, then it doesn't matter what path we choose to follow. As long as we grow along the way and look out for each other with positive thought and a pure heart is the main thing.

No worries, there is so much to learn from the teachings I'm still reading into it myself. I think behind every martial art is an extended history of development that involves levels of different spiritual practice. For Kenjutsu it is Zen. I have always sort of known that Zen is an extreme spiritual practice but it's purpose is to develop a certain level of discipline and respect for our teachers and ancestors. The origins lie deep within the experience of the Samurai from feudal Japan but having practiced and studied other Buddhist understandings and the spread of Buddhism from Hinduism (and delved into the Vedic scriptures) I can see that there are connecting similarities. The offshoots of each practice only remind me that we are capable of creating our own practice to suit our lifestyles. Falun Gong literature and practice suits me because it brings all of the history I have learned into a unified theory. Perhaps at one time in my life I will practice a single way but until that day comes, I will continue to better myself the way I know best.

I practiced another form of qigong for quite awhile before I ran across falun gong. When I tried falun gong I found it much more powerful than what I had been doing before. It's only been a week now of doing falun gong every day. So far I love it.

I really enjoy the exercises too
I've started to see things from a very different perspective since starting. Not only has my precision improved but it has really helped my awareness of time. Slow is fast and movement with energy is comfortable and relaxed

ya I have to say this is the only meditation I have wanted to do again and again, other ones quickly I lose interest, this really seems to work, I love the whole philosophy behind it too, very much resonates with my core

I love the philosophy too! It connects everything together and fills in the gaps where various other Buddhist teachings conformed. I used to have so many questions when it came to all the different branches of Buddhism and practices but Falun Dafa has successfully explained everything for me and provided a means to use that knowledge to improve myself while helping others. How awesome
