i have been struggling with this concept for some time now...
is it true that one's intentions are simply a reflection of desire or are they actually a will of determination?
i am on the fence, mainly because i believe it is a combination of both...the desire to carry something out, and the determination to make it happen...
my premise behind bringing up this topic is because i hear the word thrown around so loosely that it's kind of lost meaning...

i intended to go to the store, however, got side tracked with house work and never went...NO - you "wanted" to go to the store but instead ended up doing house work...or i intended to meet up with an old friend, however was so tired from the previous night that i overslept and missed the opportunity altogether...NO - you were thinking about meeting up with an old friend...yada, yada, yada...
it seems more and more that the term "intention" is being used a cop-out, excuse for trying to make it seem like you're willing to do something when in fact you know darn well it's not going to get done...
it's kind of a way to make things sound good...to sugar coat an instance where you give the impression that you're going to follow through with something but in actuality, you're not putting any effort into it at all...
i personally hate half-assed thoughts that are there as an idea but absent in action...
essentially, an intention is a course of action that a person intends to follow...
not always achieving, but still striving to accomplish...
so when someone falls short...or doesn't truly put effort into making the course of action happen...was it really their intention...or simply a "good thought"...with lousy execution
isn't it true that thinking and wanting something to happen doesn't make it an intention if there's no physical encouragement of the notion...right?
any conclusions for an inquisitive mind?
