And your point is? It sounds impressive anyway such a large installation in the middle of the country. Sounds like the best spot for massive joint operation practice.
5.9 million acres of private land & 1 million acres of public land across 5 counties for an installation for training all branches of the U.S. military and "allied forces."
TRINIDAD, Colorado — The Pentagon has been planning since at least 2004 to acquire almost 7 million acres in southeastern Colorado, forcing more than 17,000 residents off their land to establish the largest military base in the world, according to documents obtained in a federal court case.
The unprecedented acquisition of 6.9 million acres, or 10,800 square miles, of private and public land would result in a military reservation larger than some states, including Massachusetts, New Hampshire and New Jersey. The multi-service battlefield would be more than triple the size of the enormous White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, which at 3,200 square miles is currently the largest military installation in the United States. It would undermine the whole southeastern corner of Colorado east of the Rockies destroying the last intact shortgrass prairie remaining in the American Great Plains.

Stop looking and you will find.

What! For one, such an installation is completely unnecessary. Two, it becomes an easy target for ICBMs. Three, this forces 17,000 residents out of their homes. Four, this is completely unconstitutional. Five, Destruction of the natural environment. Six, it sits very close to a dormant super volcano. Seven, consider how much resources that would require. The fact is that is an extremely bad on just about every level.
yep thats where there taking us when they come to snatch us up from the public. its all planned for 2012 when we evolve and bam. NNNOO THEY GOT ME. surgery time down at the base then we get to tune our skills. sounds fun. XD
All sound reasonable however. One think of the possibility of using this installation to reduce the need for many smaller bases scattered everywhere. Two, everything is an easy target for ICBMS because they can reach across the world from any location plus if the us builds its laser defense system than its probable that if any ICBMS are launched in the air we would vaporize it. Three its acording only to this one article that they were forced out when it could very well be the the opposite and they were given large amounts of compensation for this inconvenience. Four, what part of this is unconstitutional, if your referring to the people being forced out then you should come up with better evidence than an article written by a site that at a glance has nothing better to do than to spout radical propaganda rather than actual news or news less filtered. Five, enviroment....meh you got me their but im not really concerned with the loss of prairie short grass.
Six, if your referring to the super volcano in most of yellowstone then when that one goes it doesnt matter where you put that base because nearly all of the US will be destroyed when it goes so avoiding damage by super volcano is like avoiding the destruction of earth by super nova, next to impossible. Unless you want to violate geneva convention and put a base of that size on some other countries land then be my guest, then again theres enough super volcanoes in the world to destroy the world so never mind. Seven yes it would take resources but im betting to build this base they would hire out many contractors which would increase the need for jobs to be filled and probably filled by people needing work so maybe thats a good thing, just maybe. So overall i would rather balance it out than to say without a doubt it is bad.
Peace
