How do you choose your User Name?

Should be "how did you choose your User Name?" of course ... slipped up there ... unusual for me. Sorry. Feeling a little strange. Anyhow ...

Didn't know whether to start this topic in the Cafe or here, as it is not so much a question about a serious topic, perhaps. Anyhow, I am curious about how the many interesting user names here came about. For example, my user name "Star Wise" popped into my head one night as I sat in my study staring intently at .... nothing, well, so it would seem to others, LOL.

I thought to myself "that is a nice name for someone" then the next day I started thinking of the nursery rhyme from old days about wishing upon a star, but I changed it a little, to read "Star Wise, Star Bright, first and last star I see tonight, wish I may, wish I might, have this wish tonight .... Peace on Earth for All". The original song is at the page below.

After this, I suddenly thought, hey I know, I'll use "Star Wise" for my user name on the discussion boards. I am not claiming that I myself am wise, but rather Star Wise refers to a wisdom or inner knowing which I think we all carry because we are all from the "stars" (more or less), and thus (I think)we are all, each and every one of us, called to reach for the stars, and to shine brightly upon all - which is an easier call for some and not so for others, I know, I know.

Dancing with the stars, that's where I belong anyhow! How did you come up with your User Name?

My name comes from the song, "Ocean Soul" by Nightwish. I love the band, the song is far from my favorite by them, though. I just chose it since I felt I needed a change from the screen name I've been going by for the past few years, Naphtali Phoenix (I still use that name, though).

Originally I first chose the name for another message board I had joined before coming here, a message board for fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender (why yes, I *am* obsessed with that show...what's your point? ). The name seemed to go well with waterbending. ^^;

And I find being near water calming.

"itzamna" is one of most important god of the Maya. the founder of their writing system, culture, education, medicine etc. etc... he's the son of the sun-god and his name means "the house of the iguana".. it can also be compared with an ancient greek word "iama" which means "healing"--> (founder of medicine)

I have a starfish tattoo on my left hip...it symbolized the parable of the starfish...

This parable has always held a very special place in my heart since I was a small child. So that's why Starfish....

I called myself TheRavenMother because of dreams I've had all my life... dreams usually start or end in me growing black raven like wings and flying off to my dreams or away from them, sometimes in the form of a raven like bird, and sometimes in the form of like a black winged angel with white hair.

Also mother because, I have this feeling there will be a terrible war in the future in which I have to gather orphans and care for them and take them far away to a place to be raised by sages/mentors about the new world - something about Jordan, Wren and Jacob is important, but thats whats confusing. Jacob is especially important, does anyone else feel this... or is it just me?

When I have done that (sending the orphans to Jordan/Jacob) I sense I have to find someone to give them tutoring in having mercy in their heart; I feel its someone like a world leader, but thats why I doubt my self a lot. It all seems to me a little too complicated or strange or fantastical. But these are deep feelings I feel are right, I guess its because I was raised with down to earth people who are easily embarrassed by individuality and so I feel anything that feels right to me is enough to have me called a mental case hehe.

This sums up why I chose this name. Plus there is a raven banner in my dream along with 11 other animal banners which are apparantly going to join with the raven banner... again, its confusing - maybe its all symbolic, maybe its not actual banners just symbols of names or something? But its strange because its 12 animal banners. 12 + 4 are very important to me in my visions/memories.

I chose my username because willows are stong but flexible. They know how to bend under stress. I also chose the name because I think Willow trees are beautiful, especially pussy willows.
