Ever dream about the end of the world?

Two nights ago I had a dream, it felt like this dream was a movie I had seen before but I cannot place what film or what is going on.

First of all, it was a normal day, I had accomplished something, not a stellar accomplishment but I had done something to make me feel good about that day. That evening, my friends and I were having a barbeque out on the front steps of a ground level apartment complex.

While standing behind my girlfriend holding her, we were talking about whatever when a cluster of shooting stars shot across the sky. My friends and I talked excitedly to each other, those who had seen it and then everyone’s attention went up to the heavens to catch sight of more shooting stars should they appear. Well more stars came, first one, then a couple more at the same time that had wide streams for their tails.

Then there was a V formation of wide tailed shooting stars that shot across the sky, and everyone was like “Ooooooo, Ahhhhhhhh” but just as the shooting stars were going to wink out of sight on the horizon, the shooting stars curved and made a circle in the sky. Round and round the shooting stars went around in a circle with bright white and beautiful trails that created an amazing design in the sky.

The skyline started changing, the ENTIRE sky started turning into this plasma of multicolored light. Big sounds, somewhat like lightning, but mostly they were the Hollywood sounds of a giant magical swirling vortex of color; which is what it was. Pretty soon the sky plasma started forming weird cylinders that were reaching out to touch the ground. I remember thinking while all this is going on “this must be the end of the world, it happened on a rather random day, I did not know it would be so beautiful”

But I was alert, I suspected danger, and these cylinders kept dropping down and I was getting more nervous. Finally a whole bunch of bodies of low level light, came down from the sky at the same time, the light bodies appeared to have the general outline of a humanesk body but no features. While they were trying to land, I instantly ran to the nearest car right in front of me and took cover behind it. They landed, turning into a golden brown hominid and instantaneously killed everyone in my sight, and by now there were many people out of their houses in the streets.

Instantly I knew I had to run for my life. I ran while angry aliens chased me and I even grabbed one and swung it into a bunch of others, I fought and fought and ran down the street and eventually turned right. By the time I was turning to get out of sight, there was a woman chasing me, a little heavier set, I remember feeling that at some point in time, I had flirted with this larger woman, and then later disappointed her. Well now she was a super strong alien who was running after me.

At times in this adventure I would get the feeling, I am only recording a movie, or sorta just playing out a movie, this happened when I next went into a weapons store, I think it was a pawn shop. I went in, hurriedly found a knife and guarded against the incoming invader I knew was going to be this woman, I grabbed another showy knife and sat there threatening her with my angry gestures, I got the feeling that the guy behind the counter and the person he was talking to were both already aliens as well. So at some point in time, probably when all three of them were about to turn on me, I ran out of their. At some point while inside that store, I got the feeling that this was just a movie, that the woman chasing me was just acting a part and so although I had been feeling real fear, I couldn’t bring myself to actually stab her. For a second between the madness of her trying to kill me and me trying to kill her, I looked at her and realized she was my friend. So I put down the ridiculous knife and kept running. And she instantaneously became my enemy again.

I ran for a long time, there were many scenes in my mind where this woman was following me all over the freaking place. It was really annoying, and eventually I ran into this one apartment that had a party going on, somehow these were friends and at some point in time were fellow adventurers of mine and we were all resting from attempting to escape as well. Among some of the guests was the actor who plays harry potter.

He was talking about whatever and the aliens coming and blah blah blah… and then for some reason something happened accidentally like someone spilled a potion on him or something, and an ailment harry had was suddenly gone. Oh yeah, it had to do with his amount of hair.

The next view is of me being harry looking into a mirror, talking about how now I would finally have some chest hair while standing with my shirt open to the mirror as hair magically appeared on my chest. But something was weird and little brown circles that were actually REALLY thick hairs started magically growing longer than a hair should grow and they started spreading until there were over two foot long hairs shooting out in every direction from harry’s body with all these hairs.

Then for whatever reason the dream had a narrator for a “film” who was talking about after this hair disaster, harry began to notice that all of his skin was starting to become like a giant zit, and as a person watching I felt there was danger in harry popping it, but what I SAW was the face of a man who had neither nose holes or a mouth, it was all just skin over the whole face, and on this skin towards the chin area was a zit that was large but it certainly didn’t cover the whole of the body. I remember that as the narrator talked about it, the zit on the featureless face was popped and at slow motion we saw puss and a LOT of blood coming out of the zit while the narrator said how harry potter then died because of the popping of the zit.

This was pretty much the last scene I remember before realizing that it was close to the time I was supposed to wake up, so I woke myself up a bit to roll and look at the clock and sure enough it was three minutes till my alarm was set. Then I dipped back into the sleep conciousness to repull everything that happened in my dream so I could write it here right now.

There was more that happened before we were at the barbeque, I remember something about being at a school and dealing with drama of some kind but that’s it.

Anyways this was my one and only dream about the end of the world and it happened on a normal day. I am curious if anyone else has had dreams about the end of the world and what those dreams entail.

Oh yea I've had plenty. The major lying theme amongst most of them is lack of large populations, broken and old buildings, and a usual survival theme.
