    Views on God

This ad goes away when you register.
With the permission of Evergreen, I have created this topic. This topic stems from the Language topic.

I view God in a traditional Christian manner. There is not much for me to say that has already been said about it. I am a Roman Catholic, but I have not been into it (probably bad way to express it) because my mother is very secular. Recently, I have been going to Mass more after I liked the Christmas Day one. It helps clear the mind.
At the latest one, I picked up a little book of prayers. It reminded me that the first commandment is to love your God with all your heart and soul. I realize that I need to work on that.

    It's a regular Jackson Pollock painting :)
I would probably agree with your view of God for the most part. However, earlier you remarked that you believed God had a body. Is this normal Roman Catholic teaching? If so, do you mean that God the Son became incarnate in a physical body as Jesus, or that God generally is an embodied being?

I grew up Protestant and was taught that in order to get to Heaven, one must accept Jesus Christ as his personal savior. This meant that one would say a prayer, "Jesus, please come into my heart and be my personal savior. I am a sinner and I ask for forgivness. I know that you died on the cross for my sins." Then you are saved and will go to heaven. Of course, you will continue to sin because you are human, but since you are saved it is ok. It is a good thing also to read your bible daily, ask for forgiveness nightly for your sins, and go to church on Sunday. The more of these things you do, the greater your rewards in Heaven will be. If you are not saved...if you do not believe Jesus is the begotten son of God, and you do not ask him to come into your heart to forgive your sins...then you will go to Hell. The Devil (Satan) lives in Hell. When you die, you either go to Heaven or Hell. In hell you will burn in flames for eternity. In Heaven, there are streets of gold and it is paradise with no suffering and you can be with your friends and family IF they were saved and made it to Heaven also. It didn't matter if someone was loving and nice and giving, if they weren't saved, they would not go to Heaven upon death.
Around the age of 23, I learned about Rome. I learned about how it was an Empire. I also learned that they used alot of pagan traditions, stories, and ritual to convince the people to switch to Christianity. Then I learned about King James and the King James Bible. The Bible I was raised reading had been changed so many times before it got to be the one used for the Protestant Denominations. I then decided it was all a scam and I became an atheist.
This left me very empty. I longed for God. I remembered how Jesus had comforted me nights when I was so sad and lonely growing up. I started searching for a religion. I studied and experimented with paganism. Then Buddhism. Then I looked into Islam and Hinduism. None of them suited me yet I did know there was a God. And I did know that Jesus is a wonderful role model. So I started praying and meditating that I understand this God.
That is when my personal relationship with God developed for the first time. I came to understand that God is not separate from us or anything else. It (He) is not something that can be described in words, and no man has been able to. It (He) is not a man. God is much bigger. God is everything. We are a part of this. We are aspects of this. Since God is everything, we are God.
This does not mean when we realize we are God that we are above everyone. It means we realize how we ARE everyone. We are ALL connected.
    Love,Brandi

I don't pretend to know exactly what god is so my idea of god is constantly changing along with my beliefs. God could be everything and more. Maybe he is every god and any god.

I think it is different from Catholic teaching. It's just from there is evidence otherwise in the Bible & my mind has a hard time comprehending God as a Spirit. And then the Trinity would be two parts Spirit.
There was a big debate about how Jesus came to be. The outcome was that the Holy Spirit entered the Virgin Mary in the ear.

I could be wrong...but various prophets in the OT said they saw a throne. With angels hiding His features. There's the part when Jacob is wrestling, though some say it's an angel.

It seems that before the Fall in Eden God interacted directly with Adam & Eve. Later in the Old Testament, He explains that seeing His face would cause us to die. In the New Testament Jesus says in the Beautitues Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see the face of God.

How I felt about the message about if we were to see God's "face" we would die is this.

First, God doesn't have a "face", so therefore this is a metaphore. God's energy radiates at perfection, so therefore if we were on this dimension and experienced such a drastic change our bodies would die because the change would be too great.

It kind of reminds me of what happens when people are around others who live at a higher vibration. It makes them VERY uncomfortable. Imagine that magnified at God's vibration.

Try to keep it pure white. Not sure the rest of the time

    When you go high enough

You will find out that all Masters of every relgion are brothers. Jesus and Budda and Confusis are all brothers. If he has too Jesus will say this himself.

To think that because a little boy was born on the Buddist end of the earth and only knew him. And to think he is going to hell for eternity because of that. With a God like that know one now needs a devil.

You must beileve in Jesus to get to God. Yes you will get to know him and all the Masters. For example the Golden Rule below. Each relgion has a piece of the puzzel. Put them all together you have the picture. Please no one take offense to this if you beileve otherwise. I was taught to respect everyone whatever they beileve. But the question is being asked by Indigos and Crystals and starseeds. Not your average people. Thought I should relay the truth as I understand it. I tried to insert a picture of each relgion saying the Golden rule in there own way. But I can't do it. It won't let me. John

God speeks to us all allways. With the Word and the Word is not a sound it is pure intention.
So he speeks and we dont hear because we are covered in a veil of free will.
We started weaving this veil the moment we were born.
Until then we heard gods word and things were perfect.
Even through the trama of being born most of us still looked at the world with inocense.
But for most not too long after that things started happening to us.
Thats when we got to weaving.
For most of us we addapted our parents web of deceit and then added our own spin to it.
Because you see we figured out somewhere along the way that our parents are not perfect.
This changes everything. We know that we can talk to perfection first hand.
We remember something about us being perfect.
As a matter of fact people would tell our parents how perfect we were.
So if your parents are not perfect, What do they know.
And so on and so forth until your 30 or 40 and all of the sudden you remember that you were once perfect.
And you start searching desperatly to find that direct line in the can only be God on the other end.

I found that direct line and I use it more and more every day.
And I did it by simply asking for it and listening and watching and throwing down those old rags and veiwing the world with wonder and excitment.
    Like a child again.

Thank you for comming that is the sermon for tonight.

That could be the key to most of my problems. I like to interpret things literally. I have a serious attitude that comes with my love of history.

i have several vision of thing that is refered as god, the first religion to have this monotheist vision of god were the jew no ? like around -3000 before christ , but like somewhat like a real monotheist thing where god is everything, and there is no such entity as satan, and more positive, and like linked to science, but in fact i think the monotheist concept of god come from any belief that have to coexist with the scientific view of the universe as a whole with constant rules, and then you can mix the rules viewed as god or as a thing to study with science, but christianity somewhat mixed the concept with the concept of karma/reincarnation, like the concept of you do good, you have good afterlife, you do bad you have bad afterlife, and replaced the karma natural mecanics, by god and satan, like big inspiration from asian view of ying/yang karma and reincarnation, but with an entity to represent each side =) so for me , god can be the physical universe (aka science), can be the incarnation of yin/good, oposed to satan yang/bad , or can be the thing representing the karma mecanics application in christian view =)

    Hi

Yes it is going quite deep. My thoughts are that the priests thinking it was a wise thing took reincarnation out of the bibile, saying you should do it in this life. But they missed a couple verses. This is what I understand happened. Learn from it. There ego got them in trouble.

But the idea of Satan. Hmmm, this is quite deep.
Honestly there is really no good or bad, only emotions and how you deal with it. What is the bad if it brings you back to the good? It is then good.
Really there is only one power, the power of Good. The power of God. The Power of Love and peace.

I view God as a construction of Energy which leads me to be more Me, everything I do in life is building upon this process, which again leads to 'better things' and so forth. That's atleast how I view God and it's quite free from any dogma or spiritual texts and so forth.

God is a metaphor for this process.

I like Tao Teh Ching which states that the unnamable is the Source, and once it's given a name it's trapped by that frame of name and meaning it was given...

I don't deny that there would be a Creator or Creator(s) but I think it's quite stupid to even speculate on these matters as most people are not even fit to take care of themselves lest their surrounding world / microcosm / planet / nature etc. which are probably very needed lessons in turns of knowing of the universe.

More or less anyone seems to equate easily constructed astral energies to that of Love, when the slightest multi-dimensionality of it is sensed, which is a bit odd imho.... I think that instead of doing this people should sit down in silence and contemplate on what to do with the future of humanity in a natural harmonious way as to take all cultures into consideration instead of this crazy capitalistic 'run for it' or 'rush for it' thing, I mean it's not good if the future of humanity looks that we will live 50 billion humans on the same planet with nearly all species of animals extinct. It's not a very beautiful evolution in that case imho...

I think that every thing is an observed phenomenom of something. What that something is, depends on the individual observing it.
