    Left Brain Right Brain Test

    Left Brain Right Brain

The left side of your brain is your knowledge, the storage of your experiences so far. This is learned, and can be passed on to others, as some of it was passed on to you. The right side of your brain is your wisdom. This is where the analysis and correlation of the experiences and knowledge gained in the left brain occur. Your right brain you are born with, it has whatever ability it has to perform this analysis. The left brain is the repository of knowledge you gain. The right brain is where that knowledge is used and applied.
The left brain is where the musician adds the knowledge of music theory, knowledge of the mechanics of an instrument. The right brain takes that knowledge and turns it into a song.
The left brain is where the facts and formulae and mathematical variables are stored (when learned). The right analyzes and correlates the data to find the answer to the math problem.
The left brain learns the meanings of letters, the rules of grammar and syntax, the right brain uses that to write a story or a poem.
The booksmart people have the strong left brain, they can absorb or add knowledge, but have the weak right brain for using that knowledge. The savants have strong right brain abilities, but weak left brain. Their wisdom (right brain) can be extensive, but their left brain ability to absorb new knowledge can be very limited, thus they are savant but in very tight, specific areas. They excel, but only at, often, one specific area, but otherwise conisdered 'autistic' in all other areas. All of the wisdom is directed in that narrow field because their left brain is inefficient at gaining new knowledge, new things for the wisdeom to be applied to.
Everyones' brain chemistry is different, some have strong right, weak left, or vice versa. Some have strong or weak in both. Everyone falls somewhere within those parameters. You are the sum of the interaction between the hemispheres.

a simple test to see if your left or right brain dominant.
YouTube - Dancers Twirling Left or Right-Leave UR answer in Comment
clockwise spin = right brain dominance
counter clockwise = left brain dominance
this is based on the initial direction of spin. it will switch eventually as both hemispheres take turns trying to decipher a 2d image which seems 3d
feel free to leave a comment, what direction do you see first?

Clockwise. It switched over to counter-clockwise, one rotation before the vid ended!

it switches for everyone eventually. when your dominant hemisphere fails to resolve it into a 3d image, it passes it off to the other to try and figure it out. the point is which way you see it first determines which hemisphere is your 'first responder' the dominant side

I saw both a clockwise spin and counter clockwise spin at the same time, not separately. Strange...

yer right brain was the first to try and interpret it into a 3d image, when it failed, it passed it off to the left brain to try. so yer right brain is your first responder to sensory input.

IT moved to the right...im right brain dominate...i def c it in my life....do ya c it in yours...

This article talks about how the different sides of your brain process information different....Put Simply u think differently ....NO one is totally right or left ..

One way of looking at learning styles is to determine your hemispheric dominance. Are you more right brained or left brained? We know that the cerebral cortex is the part of the brain that houses rational functions. It is divided into two hemispheres connected by a thick band of nerve fibers (the corpus callosum) which sends messages back and forth between the hemispheres. And while brain research confirms that both sides of the brain are involved in nearly every human activity, we do know that the left side of the brain is the seat of language and processes in a logical and sequential order. The right side is more visual and processes intuitively, holistically, and randomly. Most people seem to have a dominant side. A key word is that our dominance is a preference, not an absolute. When learning is new, difficult, or stressful we PREFER to learn in a certain way. It seems that our brain goes on autopilot to the preferred side. And while nothing is entirely isolated on one side of the brain or the other, the characteristics commonly attributed to each side of the brain serve as an appropriate guide for ways of learning things more efficiently and ways of reinforcing learning. Just as it was more important for our purposes to determine that memory is stored in many parts of the brain rather than learn the exact lobe for each part, likewise it is not so much that we are biologically right brain or left brain dominant, but that we are more comfortable with the learning strategies characteristics of one over the other. What you are doing is lengthening your list of strategies for learning how to learn and trying to determine what works best for you. You can and must use and develop both sides of the brain. But because the seat of our preferences probably has more neural connections, learning may occur faster. This section will look a t some differences between left and right brain preferences. Be on the look out for practical strategies that work for you.

Let's begin with a few basics. First, no one is totally left-brained or totally right-brained. Just as you have a dominant hand, dominant eye, and even a dominant foot, you probably have a dominant side of the brain. Second, you can and must develop both sides of your brain. Click on the link to an inventory which helps you determine the balance of your hemispheres.
