Welcome to IS!
I have enjoyed looking at the postings in the forum. You seem to have the uncommon combination of good participation along with a good signal-to-noise ratio.
The Indigo phenomenon is something I've heard about and would like to understand better. Whether or not I am one, I do not know. I tend to doubt it. I see on the list of attributes there is the feeling of being an outsider and certainly I have felt like that. So, the idea of being an outsider in a group of outsiders makes me cackle with glee.
My exoteric life is nothing remarkable: pushing 40, wife, kids, mortgage. It's a good life.
Esoterically, I found at any early age I had to seek different ways. I'd prefer not to explain why for now though the details are mundane enough. I've investigated all sorts of avenues but the ones that made the most sense to me were found in Carl Jung's writings (esp. Memories, Dreams, Reflections) and through him the hermetic and alchemical writings and from there to the anonymous book Meditations on the Tarot.
Again, I appreciate the chance to look around.

Welcome SylvesterI only signed up yesterday, but everyone has been great so far. I myself have identified with some of Jung's works, as they kind of gave a "name" to things I've always felt. If you'd ever like to discuss these things, let me know.
Rosetta - I wonder what Jung would have made of the Indigo phenomenon? I certainly don't have his encyclopedic knowledge of mythology but I am unaware of any story that is quite the same. It's a good point for some further study.
I do think there are multiple interpretations, probably enough for a book, not unlike Symbols of Transformation, except applied to a class of people instead of one remarkable woman.
Part of it may also be definitional. To be casual, it seems to me that an Indigo is a "game changer." In Jewish mysticism, it is thought that the righteousness of 7 people, the tzadikim, is enough to sustain the world. In exoteric history, if you put together a few more "game changers" than that, you get the Italian Renaissance. But even 1 can be enough. So, it is not at all clear to me why so many would be required at this moment. I don't take issue with the premise; I just don't understand.
2000 years ago a highly advanced soul incarnated to change the world under the name of Jesus, it worked for the time but if just 1 incarnated now he/she would be locked up, hidden away and put under intense study, the world would not change. They can't hide all of us!!! Heehee.
Anyway, welcome to IS
