aye, we are the all
Long before I found this site, I discovered the Gaia Hypothesis and was increasingly convinced by it. I have always felt this connection to be true even before I found any research about the hypothesis, not unlike I always felt "Indigo" before I knew what "Indigo" was. Now that I am adding words and definitions to my feelings I'd like to expand on this some more. Are we in agreeance with the Gaia Hypothesis? I am curious to know who here believes it? It does follow the common ideology, and seems to be a direct connection, so I would like to know how this belief stands with the community. For those that haven't heard about it:
"What is the hypothesis of Gaia ? Stated simply, the idea is that we may have discovered a living being bigger, more ancient, and more complex than anything from our wildest dreams. That being, called Gaia, is the Earth.
More precisely: that about one billion years after it's formation, our planet was occupied by a meta-life form which began an ongoing process of transforming this planet into its own substance. All the life forms of the planet are part of Gaia. In a way analogous to the myriad different cell colonies which make up our organs and bodies, the life forms of earth in their diversity coevolve and contribute interactively to produce and sustain the optimal conditions for the growth and prosperity not of themselves, but of the larger whole, Gaia. That the very makeup of the atmosphere, seas, and terrestrial crust is the result of radical interventions carried out by Gaia through the evolving diversity of living creatures."

Things such as might happen.
aye, we are the all
It is a world wide accepted theory, and its even one our schools sylabus and i strongly beleive in it.
Because of it i dont beleive in global warming![]()
As Above, So Below. Just as Atoms are 'microcosms' of solar systems and the solar system is a 'microcosm' of the universe, why would it be impossible to believe that our bodies mirror a larger creation, a being whose lungs are the trees and wose circulatory sytem is the oceans and rivers? Our bodies play host to parasites - viruses - germs; some benign, some not. We have lived with the benign ones for millenia - have come to depend on them for many things. Why couldn't the life forms that live on earth be the equivalent? In that case, has man oulived his usefulness to the being of the planet? Will she purge herself of her excess parasitic infection before it destroys her? What is the cosmic equivalent of Antibiotics?
Just a thought.![]()
"Death is a stripping away of all that is not you. The secret of life is to "die before you die" — and find that there is no death."
i've never read about this theory before, but this concept is familiar with my beliefs.. i'll make some more researchthanks for bringing this up it's really interesting.
