    Question Final Fantasy

This ad goes away when you register.
Is anyone interested in the Final Fantasy series? I can't seem to lay off them, for many reasons. I think you people from this community would love it too. They go deep into many issues of our world, although it's all fiction. And I actually feel much more familiar in those 'imaginary worlds'.. The concepts of the different worlds described in the series could be memories from past/other lives of the creators.. Many things that happen actually collide with many theories that we are discussing here.

I can give some basic general info for those who are unfamiliar with them. U can skip this part if u're know about them.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

First of all it's mostly a games series (it really gets me how many ppl immediately don't want to hear or have anything to do with them when they hear that they're games - I'm sure anyone who is familiar knows what I mean)
Each Final Fantasy is independent from the others.

Final Fantasy X is a story of someone who traveled 1000 years into the future, into a world that he is a complete outcast. In this world the people are supposedly paying for the mistakes that humanity made in the past. Religious leaders appear to have all the power in this terror-striken planet, and the people blindly follow them. Our character joins a group of 4 individuals (not just humans) fighting the terror. They are also guided by the "church", but our character who isnt familiar with the whole religion thing helps them to see the corruption behind the religion & its leaders, who spread false hope to the people, only to have them under control.

Final Fantasy VII is about a world where a big company draws the life energy from the planet and uses it for money (electricity, weapons e.t.c. - I'm sure you can make the connection with our world already). A resistance group is trying to stop them and the main character has just joined this group. The stories are never that simple though. Another character filled with hatred for the planet wants to destroy it, and going deep into the main character's past, u learn more about the reasons y and how these things are happening. Each character's past seems to have a connection. So it's generally a struggle to save the life of the planet, solve the blurry visions of the past and learning to cherish every moment.

Final Fantasy VIII is probably my personal favourite, and I can't summarize on it because it's the most diverse one. It revovles around the connection between past-present-future, parallel universes e.t.c. "While calm in appearance, the serenity that blankets the world is merely a curtain over the turmoil that threatens to surface". The main character must be an indigo imo (actually many or even most of the characters in the series are of higher frequencies). A lot of emphasis is given on the continuous mysterious visions that he sees. The story is very deep, complex and maybe even confusing, but nevertheless beautiful and intriguing.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

I've actually started playing these since I was 12. Of course I didn't understand much. I've replayed them many times now, and there are so many things that they made me think about. They deal with many philosophies of our world. And on the other hand, the series is a great way to escape from our reality for a little, and as games, they have some of the best ratings -> good entertainment . Anyways I'd like to hear ur thoughts on the subject if u've played the games (or if u want to get involved with them, u can always ask anything!)

I've always wanted to learn the story lines of FF in depth...alas I suck at video games and don't have any friends here that play them. Someday I'll house sit a gamer and watch them play it in order to enjoy it for myself.

They go deep into many issues of our world, although it's all fiction. And I actually feel much more familiar in those 'imaginary worlds'..

Y'know, I'm pretty certain a lot of the stories about "imaginary worlds" actually describe parallel/alternate realities. Could explain why so many people identify more with imaginary worlds than this one.

I absolutely love Final Fantasy. I've been playing since I was 10 and I have a bunch of them. The storylines are just awesome and they draw you in. I love Role Playing games, though, and I just happen to think that Final Fantasy is the best one of them all.

The characters are all interesting and that's a plus. I am always eager to find out who the next new character will be, and then see how they develope in the story.

I've always been able to relate our world's plight to that of the fantasy worlds in Final Fantasy.

I started playing Final Fantasy XII a few months ago, but am taking a break from games in general. Haven't been too intersted in playing for a while.
The sound of eight hooves reaches his ears
    Comes from the heavenly light
Two wolves' howls fill his heart with fear
And he sees two ravens fly
Down from the sky a warlord rides
Like fire his one eye glows
And just before the preacher dies
He knows his god is false

Yeah, Final Fantasy VII is a fantastic game. I don't want to spoil it for anyone that hasn't played it yet, but there are some pretty fantastic and emotionally deep scenes in that one.

They're all pretty good, though. Final Fantasy tactics was especially fun.

Good luck with your story. I love writing, too, and am working on two stories currently and trying to get them written, as well.

Yeah, I've always wanted to publish a story, since I was really small I've wanted to be a writer, or an actor. Maybe I'll get a record signed when me and my buddies launch our band.

lol i kow right? those ppl on the forum make u feel like u dont know anything about the games. I think playing a Final Fantasy game is something very personal though and everyone experiences it differently.. so there should be no comparisons. The movie was amazing too!

I haven't finished Kingdom hearts.. I gave up on it actually

I've only watched a bit of it here and there, I am so busy I don't always have the time to see all the movies and games, but I do like what I have seen of it.

    Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh, love FF totally.

    My favorite FFVIII.

Made my cry, made me dream.

If I could forget it, I'll play it again.

Wish I could forget it a thousand times to play it forever more.

I would like a movie based on FFVIII as was advent for the FFVII

I have played them all, but haven't finished IX, X-2 and XII. not because I didn't like them but for time consumption. The rest I have played till the end.

I also enjoyed Chrono Chross, Chrono Trigger, Xenosaga, And many more that I don't remember at the moment.

RPG addict, jeje, check www.gpotato.com for coooool free MMORPGs, I strongly suggest Space Cowboy and Rappelz, they are Awesome games, unbelievable that are totaly free.

Yeah VIII made me dream a lot too.. I wish I could 'forget' it so that I could play it again too lol .. I hope they remake it for the PS3. That would be awesome.
I recommend you to finish IX! I didn't like it either in the beginning (actually up to final CD), but in the end it gets pretty good and I love the ending. It's different from the others; it's more positive, fun and happy..
I haven't played Chrono Cross etc though I'm looking forward to playing them someday.
Oh and thanks for the recommendations

Final Fantasy 7 is my all time favorite game. I had never experienced so much emotion while playing a game until then.

The next FF should be short of amazing Graphic, story and gameplay wise

ok, My nation is any on sco, I am kind of new to this game.

But today I am exited that I brought down 2 bcu ships (enemy ships)

It my first time on war after a long training, but what i liked the most is that I killed someone that had twice my level of experience.

I want to scream but nobody will hear me.

I am lvl 43, and brought down a lvl 72-81, I suck at pvp, but i had my award.

    yeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh.
