Lightbulb Need to Know How to Surrender

This ad goes away when you register.
    Hi Friends:

I talked to my husband today after his job interview in Oregon. Recall that we want this really badly. He said it went OK, the guy was nice, but that the guy really just wanted to tell him about the job and said they would be reviewing the applicants in a couple weeks and having formal interviews in late November. This morning Spirit told me we would be in Oregon in 4 months.

Anyway, the problem is that I am getting overly-involved in the whole process of getting out of the Midwest and into Oregon. I feel I pray too much, meditate too much on it, do too many mystical things like tarot and I ching readings, readings off the internet, consulting energy worker/psychics, etc. I need I think to just let go and surrender to the Will of the Divine.

This is not easy for me b/c we've been trying to get out of here for like the whole 10 years we've been together. Also, Steve Rother said I'm someone who has had the rug pulled out from under her at every possible opportunity her whole life, I guess facilitating the life lessons of Trust and Definition.

I am seeking your advice or practical experience as far as placing yourself in the Divine Flow of Life and surrendering to the will of God/Goddess. I know intellectually that God's plans for us far surpass any crap we could dream up yet I find myself fearing that if we are again denied the opportunity to move I will go insane and turn atheist.

I know I sound like a crazy woman and I'm sorry but I really need your indigo advice and help. I feel I should listen to the voice of Spirit above all other voices, including the tarot. But I would really value your input. Thanks in advance for your time and caring.

    Crazy Kathy LOL

    hello crazy kathy

im not sure if youve read conversations with gos or not, but there was something in there that really hit me. it is this:

we create the reality around us, so our thoughts and feelings become our present day reality. when someone wants something really really bad, they will in fact then create the reality of wanting somthing really bad. they will give themselves the experience of wanting.

so if theres something you want (like happiness, or some quiet time) then start to acknowedge those moments when you do have those things, and you will create more. you will then realize that you do actually have those things.

if you really need to get out of the middle of the country with all your crazy neighbors, then do it! i feel that it will work out, even if your husband doesnt get this job

    love to you

Hey, Kathy, being crazy sounds like an appropriate response!

Can I suggest something that helps get my head around conflicted situations? I come up with statements that I can repeat to myself to help put things in perspective.

In this case, I might say, "Even though I don't know where I'll be living next year, and my life might be changing completely or staying the same ... I accept the confusion and choose to enjoy the ride." I recommend some deep breathing along with that.

For me, I don't think I can get a hold of any real intuitive feeling about the future until I get my arms around whatever bizarre situation the present is coming up with.

BTW, I am from Oregon, and miss the Pacific NW somethin' awful!! It's a special place with a lot of special people. I have been in Georgia for a year and a half, but ... and I'm not proud of this, but it's the truth ... leaving Portland was harder than losing my dad a couple of years ago. Not that I didn't love him ... but, leaving Oregon was tough.

PS -- let me know if I can help you w/any info or anything about OR ... feel free to PM me!

Believe that everything that you want is already yours - then step back and let it go. Believe that you already have it - it's yours.

I feel like the question is, "How much do I really trust God?" It's like this is the first time in forever I really let myself want something, to feel passionate and hopeful about it, to pour my energy and power and heart and soul into it. If it doesn't pan out, this will be Where the Rubber Meets the Road for my spirituality, I believe. Can I continue to love God anyway? To feel that this is something more than just another time when the rug was pulled out from under me? Or will I continue to feel that living in Peoria is a terrible karmic punishment? Stay tuned <<<<<<<<<<<dramatic soap opera music>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I'm not trying to "preach" but I was in a very similar situation not too long ago (well, all right, it was over ten years ago now, but it SEEMS like it wasn't too long ago). What I wanted and prayed for didn't happen - in fact, what I "got" was completely opposite. I found my faith severely shaken - so much so that I ended up detaching myself from the "faith" that I had followed religiously (no pun intended) up until that point. I became totally inverted (I can't explain it in any other way). It was this incident, in fact, that triggered my awakening - two years later I emerged on the other side of what I have to say was the darkest time of my life with the realization that my supposed "faith in god" had been misplaced - God is in me - what went wrong wasn't that I didn't have faith in God, I didn't have faith in me - I didn't believe that I could control my own circumstances and so, by focusing on what I wanted (instead of focusing on the feeling of HAVING what I wanted) I brought to myself exactly what I didn't want.

    This too shall pass.

You know, those old time radio soap operas. Dramatic organ-type music.

    Yay for Oregon :-)

Weareone made a good point about wanting creating wanting. I would add that this is only true when it's prolonged.

You've done exactly the right things... You've wanted it really bad, you've put intent and will into it. Now's the part where to stop trying to DO anything. Just wait for time to catch up.

If you can manage that part, and not doing anything isn't so hard right, then you'll get there. Never fails.

    right on

exactly how I feel - when people say they don't believe in god I only agree with them if they say that god is an external entity. We all have god within us, that's where the magic and miracles come from. God is not something you should reach for - pray by all means but know that praying is to the god within not an external force, it is the god within that connects us all no matter how disconnected we perceive ourselves to be in times of pain or depression. Prayer I feel actually strengthens that connection to your inner power / magic. It shows your faith / belief in the world of wonder and the unseen.

In answer to the above question as to how much do I really trust God in my world it would be how much do I really trust I; with I being my highest self.

I have been taught to do the best in whatever circumstances I find myself and that how I handle those circumstances may well create the next set of circumstances.

For me when something comes from my intuition I tend to believe what comes and Have found that when I doubt that doubt blocks the creation. Doubt is a very powerful negative force we sometimes create unconsciously and then tend to blame another source when that negative energy is able to block the positive creation we wished to create. That has been my experience in the crucible of life for whatever it may be worth.

There are many parts of the Bible that I actually believe.. parts that haven't been skewed, screwed up, misinterpreted by man for his own intent. Parts that ring of simple truth.

    Patryc
rocks with his observation. Man was created by God to have fellowship with God and then was given woman for companionship of his own. Then Free Will was given to both. Love is the drug. The Love of God. Fellowship with God has gotta be the biggest rush this side of Heroin.... the only antidote being Free Will. The Love Of God of course, is seen as a marketable commodity by worshipers of Mammon. It has been diluted and cut so many times since Eden, we don't know WHAT we are smoking anymore. I realize that is a really poor metaphor but it makes the point.

With our Free Will we have done everything but totally seperate ourselves from our Creator. Once that telepathic (call it prayer/whatever) - once that telepathic tie is BROKEN baby, we are totally on our own. Welcome to Hell.

It would seem that to protect himself from OUR destructive intents, He has gone inside of us. And wasn't that the idea in the first place? FELLOWSHIP with God and Man? The idea here is to recognize the need to BE with Him/Her/It to fellowship (some say worship) ?

Gracias, Patryc. Wanna bite of this apple?
