    The Power of Music

This ad goes away when you register.
Ive always pondered in amazement at the emotional power that sound can give. The fact that we listen to depressing music when we are sad. The rage that is exhaled while listening to metal music. The heavy, body thrusting bass beat that puts ravers or just any club go-er into a trance. What is it exactly? what is the musical formula that stimulates our inner selves is such ways? How do combinations of different frequencies, such as chords on a guitar, move us?

Ah... Music.. One of my favourite expressions of life and what it stands for..

Such beauty it is when it touches the Beyond of who we are, no?

Scientifically, sound somehow "affects" chemicals/neurons in our brain, creating certain emotions. I think there's a lot more to it than any theory science or medicine comes up with, though. The power of sound transcends all that is earthly, I think.

The fact that it can affect us so strongly only further confirms what empathic beings we humans are. It's like the little smile that creeps up your lips when you watch or hear someone laugh so hard, etc. Empathy!

Music goes way beyond.. It speaks to beasts, it converses with ants, it dances with souls, and unites cultures.. And yet, at the end of the day, it is subjective in that we all have our own taste in music! But we all share the same experiencing of it...

Enjoy it! Dance... Feel your Self burst into the freshness of life.. Revive, and be revived!

I find that music keeps me in touch with all aspects of my Self when I don't have the person I depend on for the particular aspect.

This brings up a question. Does anyone find that certain music resurrects emotions from what could possibly be a past life? I get strong pulses listening to traditional Irish/Celtic music myself...

A sinister history and a hopeful future.

Music for me, I have found, that music can open a person up, it can remove blocks and heal. Like sometimes one can listen to a song ,or peace of music, and it evokes goosebumps, a heart opening, deep feelings of love etc, but then if one listens to it again, most times one doesnt get the exact same sort of experiece/feelings, as when it first did its thing sort of. Sort of like it did its opening.

I also feel each soul plays its own unique song, and has its own unque tones.

i think it defenitly does, older music that you resonate with on a level that is beyond"i like this" can totally point you in that direction...i melt to celtic/irish music, also i find myself drawn to the land itself, the people, the culture....

and than i have a thing for indian(india) music, dance, religion...

i think it really is the power of music, i don't really resonate with the lyrics, hm, well or better said i don't care to much about the lyrics...they can sing about things i really do not approve of, but the music itself still gives me goosebumps, goes under my skin, takes me to a different place in space

    Juice agreed..

Avant- yes, totally.. For some reason, Gregorian chanting seems to "take me somewhere" if that makes sense!

Lillies, you mean the tunes? Same here!

It's also amazing how certain aromas/smells can do exactly the same... I think we sometimes underestimate our sense of smell and where it, too can take us!

music is a nice stimulans, actually i try to learn it
there is a place for every kind of human in music energy, she is universal and
    that is something amazing

music is nice, but the thing is she is something like symbian shit, she live in us
and she come from us humans we help her to go on surface, i dont think she is something like look at me i invent the song, nope i see it like something else, like a living energy shaped by us, look she can be anything u want if u can control she or She You, hehe

Sound is a traveling wave which is an oscillation of pressure. Humans perceive frequency of sound waves as pitch. Each musical note corresponds to a particular frequency which can be measured in hertz. An infant's ear is able to perceive frequencies ranging from 16 Hz to 20,000 Hz; the average human can hear sounds between 20 Hz and 16,000 Hz.[2] The range of ultrasound and other physical vibrations such as molecular vibrations extends into the megahertz and well beyond. uuuh that made me think of something....sometimes i think i hear music far away and then i believe i heard the music before, when i ask others they don't hear nothing and when i try to really figure out what i hear it turns out it's a combination of the wind the crickets, the neighbours AC(gosh that thing is annoying, nothing worse than static noises) like a classical concert with lots of instruments creating one beautiful peace...not sue that made sense lol

Im a dj so iv pondered this many times too. Iv come to the conclusion that music increases whatever my vibration is the moment. Ofcorse the track has to have some relevance to my vibe, which can be anything from lyrics, tone or melody but if its a match then sparks start to fly and my conciousness gets a booster into whatever im feeling atm.
