But seriously, I guess it depends on what you mean by Karmic Cycle

What is your idea/definition of a "karmic cycle"?
There are a few ways, for me.
Some certain energy diminishes-- a project, a group I've affiliated with-- so that a grief process emerges, however symbolic. Or, a person may actually pass away who archetypally holds a certain energy in my life.
People from the past may suddenly appear, through email or random encounters, affording the opportunity for closure.
In dreams/ visionary work, symbols appear which have relevance in the language of my spirit.
I may get restless with clutter and feel moved to do spring cleaning: to clear my address book, my room, my desk, the past... whatever moment of the year it is.
Physically I may feel less energy.
Physically, when a mala (string of beads) breaks, for me it is a certain sign of the end of a karmic cycle.
Kind of like having bad karma for a week and the good karma kicks in... but you don't realize that it has cause you were so focused on the bad karma..... it sneaks up on ya!
"Excuse me. Have you seen a blowfish. Driving a sports car?"
Things wrap up and people and situations either change or fall away, seemingly on their own. I sometimes get an intense urge to move on, and that might include physical changes. I've also found that if I don't shift with it and move, the results can feel painful. Fortunately or unfortunately, I'm in that state right now. It's a fight between leaving in a "proper way" or going a little berserk and heading on out of Dodge.
Like when you live with someone for a long time and then suddenly find that circumstances pull you to live apart.

That sounds like a threshold, too.
Good question. I don't really know. Past lives? I don't really believe in karma personally. Well rather, I believe it exists but that it becomes irrelevent once you become aware and fully conscious of the fact that you are creating your own reality in the present.

A lot of people have karma from past lives that in this one (w/ the changing energies upon the planet now) they can heal and release. That's why so many of our relationships now days are so short lived. Not to mention that by being aware and open you can speed up the process of clearing past energy w/ another person and can move on w/out incurring anymore karma. The closing of the cycle comes through feelings. When you've learned the lessons that you needed you can walk away guilt free and still love any individual in an unconditional manner. Personally for me it's always been a feeling I receive that I've done what I needed and that it's time to move forward in my life. Yet, the only way to truly know it's over is when there's no more emotional attachment to a person or a situation. When you can smile and know exactly why it needed to happen and be thankful for the experience that you received.
Be the change we want to see on the planet...we create our reality...it's time to spread peace not fear!

Indigo Dog's List of Reasons why the Karmic Cycle has Ended-
1. You hear a loud buzzing noise, see a bright light and Buddha pulls you out of the Karmic Dryer to be folded and put away.
2. The ride stops because a karmic wheel falls of the Universal bus.
3. You are greeted at the banks of the River Styx by a glorious Goddess and she notices you are carrying a huge sack of Karma. She leans over to you, gently caresses your face and says in a beautiful lilting voice, " WTFITS?"
4. The cycle ends on 12-20-2012 when Jesus comes back and resurrects Muhammad and they fight Satan in an awesome cage match while floods and earthquakes decimate the Earth, just before the Starseeds Ascend, but they can only carry one human under each arm and the poor humans that are left have to do a mad scramble to find the 13TH crystal skull and unlock the chamber of Secrets that will protect the last of the humans from the apocalypse and when the Mayan calendar has ended and Humans emerge from the chamber they will look back to see if they have a shadow, because if they do they will have 666 days more of apocalypse...
5. The cycle has ended when you realize that karma is just an outdated concept like the boogie man, created to keep you from being a doosh.
6. The karmic cycle is reserved for the lowly evolved. It ends when it becomes the karmic cube, absorbing everything in it's path and assimilation all consciousness... Resistance is futile.
7. The karmic cycle ends like all cycles. First there is the moodiness, the unprovoked fights. Next a craving for chocolate. Finally crying during a commercial about puppy food and then cuddling.
8. Karmic cycle- Just like a Unicycle, you need good balance of you will get hurt in the end.
