    Video Games

I've noticed that in many places discussing indigo-related topics, video games frequently get a very bad rap. I for one, however, can say that video games have had a very positive effect on my life, and I know many people who would agree with me. Its true that often I probably spent too much time playing, and sometimes drew insufficient ideas about the world from them. But, especially when it comes to role-playing games, video games have inspired me tremendously. Getting to play a hero and learn about the hero's journey, as Joseph Campbell would put it, is of inestimable value in one's life. I also enjoyed the charm, creativity, and excitment I saw in a lot of the graphics, music, and plotlines. I wouldn't say people should avoid video games - they just need to put them in perspective.

I feel I've benefited from video games. I don't consider them anything negative at all.

I still play video games to this day. I too like RPGs a lot, some of the stories are just awesome (all the best ones seem to come from Japan). Japanese RPGs always have a touch of mysticism/spirituality added to them, its very cool. Its like reading an epic fantasy book, but instead of imagining the stuff in your head as you read it, in a passive way, you actually are a part of it and your decisions matter. Awesome experience

ATM im beta testing a MMO (online game) called Warhammer Online. I like to be part of the creation process of a game, even if its just to test it out and send bug and feedback reports. That type of game is great to let go of my aggressiveness, has helped me a lot in the past. I feel i dont need them as much anymore though.

I used to play tons of video games but I've slowly replaced them with more artistic hobbies. It used to be that I was totally stuck in a rut, wake up, work, get home and play video games. Pretty much every day the same thing. Tonight I just got back from watching the sunset over the lake, quite breathtaking.

One of my main problems with video games is the violence, though this isn't a problem inherent in video games, but a societal issue. Who wants to play a killing simulator? Obviously, quite a few people. What does this say about a person's subconscious? Our society trains people to solve problems through violence, if you don't believe me go watch children's television.

If you noticed I'm not attacking video games as a whole, they have the potential to be very powerful educational tools. I just think very few of them have reached their potential.

Before someone replies telling me that violent video games and TV don't make people violent, you'll have to first convince me that TV commercials don't influence people's opinions. Good luck.

I got over my video game addiction only to develop a Facebook web game addiction. Argh - addictions always replace addictions.

Fortunately it's only facebook games. My fan on my Video Card died at the start of semester so although the computer still runs it slows itself to cope with the heat. Slow VC = no games. I was badly addicted to video games prior to this year.

I used to play video games constantly. Back in September I stopped when I found my spiritual side. Tried playing one again recently and just couldn't get into it, same with violent movies.

I love to play video games. Mostly RPG's like the ones from Japan. Yet I haven't played video games in a while. I've been more interested in developing psychic powers.

I've grown MORE attracted to my life long "addiction" of gaming with my spiritual awakenings. It's part of who I am... and electronics are definitely a huge part of my life; I even work at my local GameStop. We cooperate. Playing some games - even "violent" FPSes (first-person shooters) - is like a form of meditation for me.

Gaming isn't for everyone, but that doesn't mean we can't continue playing, hm? It certainly hasn't made my artistic aspirations suffer, so I'm fine with it.

A sinister history and a hopeful future.

Most are bad, but some are surprisingly good for your spirituality, I kid you not. Try Eternal Sonata.

But most of them.. negative, dull, competitive, full of pride... and so on.
You tend to look at your friends as
