Question Coming off meds (adhd, depression, anxiety)

I am on a HEAP of medications and have been since I was about 15... adhd (concerta), depression (prozac) ativan for anxiety and another anti depressant to help sleep.

Has anyone got any knowledge or experience in coming off this sort of stuff. I am now 28 so I have been on it almost half my life I feel like the universe is telling me it's time to get off them, have for a while, but my attempts have been feeble because I've been on them so long.

Any information/insight would be greatly appreciated.

    Namaste,
    Chelle

First of all you should make absolutely sure you don't need them anymore. Secondly, if you don't have a psychologist/psychiatrist/whatever that you can go to with questions like this I suggest you try to find one. Especially since they'll probably be better informed and able to make the process much easier for you. Also helps to have a large support system of family, friends, etc. that can help you through it as well.

id like you to get a piece of paper and if you dont mind draw two trangles facing each other with a small gap between them, now thats your brain when its fine, sending a electric current from one to the other and it makes your arm move or releasing happy hormones, if you get me, basically when your in good healt they are straight facing each other,
beside the picture will you draw two trangles again facing each ither but that are curving away from each other so the gap is wider, this is when your depressed or not well, the gap now is wider so the electrical current has futher to jump to the other and cannot make the connection, and you get depressed, so meds just build on the part that bends like a deposit so to speak until the two deposits are near enough to allow a current to spark again, the problem is the triangles so to speak are still bent so when you come off meds , most people go into remission as they cannot understand that they dont feel better, it was a COURSE of tablets, meaning youshould be doing a cousre to get you better as well and the tablets as just a crutch to help you along,, exercise is the best way to bend the trangles back to there normal position, so be sure you are watching yourself and eating well before you come off meds, as just remember they did only what they were supposed to do and that was a crutch, but you have to do the rest, ask your doctor and tell them your plans and that you want advice on what to do , ehat to eat , what to exercise and so on, thses people are here to be of service to you, when i talk to doctors i just look at them as my trainers thats all, id say something like i need for me to be able to handle this or that and i need you to show mw how to do it, thats there job to teach you, how to cope with life, so take that knowledge off them as you are paying them, i hope this helps,,
