Is the Label "indigo", "crystal" or "rainbow" arrogant and delusional?

I have spent quite alot of time on this site for most of 2010 and it seems to be that the only purpose of those labels is to engender a cliche of superiority, specialness and exclusiveness for phenomena that many people experience in different ways..

We have those here who think high IQ = indigo special person. Perhaps they should join mensa and do some puzzles.

We have those who think anyone who is autistic or have adhd is an indigo...

This ad goes away when you register.

We have those who experience spiritual insights or exhibit artistic talent... they are indigo..

We have those with psychic abilities and they are labeled as indigo.

This concept of an indigo , crystal, rainbow is make believe....just sayin after observation here... it's a nonsense really.. sorry..

thats an opinion and only one person can make that for you.. everything is literately based upon perception.. you can't let others create yours.. cause it wont be yours.. it will be mine lol.. but some one elses

Like Carl Jungs idea of the collective sub-consciousness I think the Indigo vibe can be created when a bunch of likewise people get together and convince themselves of their specialness. That feels wierd and creepy to me.

It is my perception that people can't be labeled into categories like that.. I just can't see it.

I have all those qualities you listed. That must mean I'm a super Indigo and I'm better then all of you. Heh, I Rawk!

In all seriousness though... I am really skeptical about a lot of things, this included. I don't except these labels as absolute truths, or as complete bullshit either. I accept them for what they are, labels.

It's how people see themselves once the label has been given that's more important, imo.

I can understand where you are coming from.

My experience on being an indigo is not being superior, but shunned and ignored in disbelief from most of the people around me.

If I have all those qualities that you mentioned well I'll be darned, because they have not helped me overcome societies view of reality.

Life has been the same for me... No matter what our personal view is of the concept/label... it is still a lonely life for some of us...

The two words I have used to sum up my experience; isolation and joy. When you are at the beginning of something, it tends to be a lonely path, cause you are of the first on it. The labels aren't what scare people. It is the thought that things are different than what they believe. And at least with a label, it gives people something to describe individuals like some here.

That's the point, alot of people have those qualities but it doesn't mean they are "indigo" or any of those other labels.....

I think it is just a word to describe apart of your personality, it does not limit you to who you are. One can be indigo amongst other things like beautiful, a warrior, a nerd, etc..... Just because you are indigo does not mean that is all you are, we are individuals and no word can limit us just help to describe a part of us. It would be kinda like stereotyping. We call a higher power God, or whatever you do, but whatever name you are using or word does not describe his/her vastness and greatness. So words can be limiting if you let them, but you know better than that. We have to use words to communicate for that is all "indigo" is ( a word with a meaning)...

I have most of them too, doesn't mean I am "indigo" or anything like that. These types of people have always been around.

Also, peoples definition of what a indigo is may be different from one another like stated by the OP, however that still does not take away from what it really means.

I wonder how it would be if they ever came up with any scientific test to detect if people really are any of these labels... I personally would rather think I am not, then find out I am, than think I am, and find out I'm not.

I've taken some of those "Are you an indigo" quizzes, and they all tell me I am. I took a test once to find out if I'm a Crystal, even though I'm probably too old to be a Crystal... but the test told me I am one. So, then I took a "Are you a Starseed" test. And, well whadoyaknow... I'm a Starseed too! I think a lot of those tests are geared so no matter who takes them, they come out in their favor. The Starseed test probably tells everyone their a starseed... I should get someone else to take it.

I fit the profile of an Indigo almost to the letter. And while it would be nice to say without a shadow of a doubt that I am one, I can't be certain, none of us can. Someone just made a list once, and we are people who fit in that list.

Its metagifted. I am psychic and have high level of perception and I am weird if that makes me Indigo then fine if it doesn't make me an indigo then still fine. Its just a label.

I match all the traits, but I am hype-free for a long time now
    This stuff doesn't really matter
It actually doesn't even sound serious any more; Am I an Indigo, indigo, INDIGO? -taking an ultimate test for Indigoness - 'FUCK YEAH'

You are here, not running around, killing stuff, you MUST be special
If you are using this knowledge to feed your ego, you're fucked up, but you can turn around and change that
If a label helps you, go for it, but don't forget that these are all labels, they can be of use to you, but in the end we are all THE SAME, so why become attached?
May you always feel loved, at peace and in light..

So you believe it just because "they" tell you. It's a scam so people can sell books and make money from other related activities. Lots of people share those so called indigo traits.... but they are not that.

I have taken those tests too and I am an indigo, but I know it's bull.

It's really sad to be manipulative like this as these labels only build a gap between individuals and the rest of humanity, I think humanity has enough divisions without this shit.
