Just curious, but I was wondering about people's views on Christian Wiccan/Paganism. If anyone does not know what that is, I will be more than happy to explain it.
Today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday...

Different strokes for different folks so to speak. There are many paths that lead to the same source so to speak. My first teacher used to say find a path and stick with it. He seemed to think moving all about wasted much energy and kept you closer to the surface.

I know what it is. The problem is that mixing things like that together doesn't work out very well. At least that's the opinion in pagan/wiccan circles.

    Don't Know
How do those mesh? I am very familiar with both, but how do you practice them together?

The whole rainbow, and all those cool colors you get when you combine things
Its hypocritical and weak - a way for people to belong to two different religions without commiting to either. If you want to be eclectic, that's fine, but then don't pretend to be a practicing Christian or Wicca. Wicca itself is just Feminist Christianity decked up in a supposedly pagan outfit. There's nothing ancient about it - its one of the youngest religions on the planet.
I think this uniform needs something; something that says "I'm here to destroy you", but with a sense of fun!

religion is pretending, ecclectisizm is dilluting that mixture held stale by the scholastic.

i practice objective relativism and pretend that this spawns metaconcepts that corrode inherited lingual cages, the problem with that is its hard to speak ones mind+ i can't assume im rigth by ceremonial predefintion. repeatedly knocking down walls of words to an intuitive reset.

Who among us can say what is good and what is bad and has been appointed judge of words? Who among us can say who belongs and who does not belong? Would it not be better to unconditionally love what comes and move forward from that space.

i really want to make a comment here.......read deep within christian texts *and "pagan" texts*...you will find that each is hidden within the other....duality was part of christianity before those in power made it a mascaline religion....and pagan texts will always mention the birth of the Sun/Son, he brings the Light into this world in one way or another........

Actually this is incorrect. I do not deny that Wicca is only about 70 years old at the outset, but I just don't get how you can say it is Feminist Christianity. Wicca teaches a balance between the feminine and the masculine aspects of divinity. It is not skewed to the Feminine. And there is no "savior" at all but yourself. It seems to me that your understanding of Wicca is steeped in the Dianic Tradition. That's cool, but there is more to Wicca than that, and many Wiccan's deny that Dianic Wicca is Wicca at all. The Gardnerians (the original Wiccans) do deny it.

And yes, what we know of Wicca today was started in the 1930's, but it is based on Pagan rituals that go back thousands of years. Wicca is not ancient, but many of the beliefs and traditions that make up modern Wicca today are.

And in case you are wondering... No, I'm not Wiccan.
    Peace and Love,
    Deni

I sooo agree with this! Its like the word Easter. Does anybody know where the word Easter comes from? Eostre was a Goddess. The Goddess of the dawn. She birthed the sun! Easter is latin for Dawn, or The Rising of the Sun. That is why the word Easter is used as the name for the day in which Jesus rose from the dead. The Sun/Son rose... bring new life (in the Spring). Eostre was the patron Goddess of fertility (eggs). Her animal was the hare (Easter bunny). There are still to this day so many hold overs from when Christianity and the Pagan religions were more merged. In this regard I think the two religions can find some comon ground. But I think that if someone chooses to practice some hybred Christian/Wiccan religion that person will have to realize that this religion they are practicing is not Christianity and its not Wicca... its a completely new third religion of their own making.
    Peace and Love,
    Deni

and that is when one chooses spirituality over religion...or should come to that place in their heart, the place where truth lives....it took a fall "down the rabbit hole" and a couple epiphanies as these two religions merged within my understanding of what i believe as truth.....

The reason it's called Easter is because the Germanic people that were converted to Christianity worshipped a goddess called Eostre. Even though the Christians often went out of their ways to convert, they left names alone. Today is still Tuesday afterall!

This is true in one sense, but it doesn't go against anything I said either. But if that were completely true then why isn't Yule called Yule? Why is it called Christmas? Why is Beltane called Candlemas or May Day? Why is Easter the only holiday where the name hasn't changed? The answers are more complicated than just that they didn't bother to change the name when they "converted" people, which is really a nice way of saying "forced". lol

Aww...well, you'll learn that I can be a silly reactionary sometimes. At worst I can be downright Victorian about :looks around: certain subjects.

I good part of it is the English language. What we call English wasn't spoken until around the reign of Edward III (when the cultural/political difference between France & England first became firmly planted). The Normans spoke French, and their subjects spoke Saxon. A 12% of the English language is directly from Latin too, because of the priests.

That explains why a language that is supposed to be germanic is so latiny. lol I don't really believe that it can be called germanic when the vast majority of its influences are from the languages with latin roots.
