The danger of new age way of thinking !

First of all i was born with what you guys call it the philosophy of the new age . i was born as an indigo & now i am 100% crystal .

I had that scary thought about the future of humanity .. the way we are going is each one of us will have his\her own opinions & way of living so we won't form groups & organizations like all other believes systems or political systems .

So we will end up as a wonderful individuals but we will stay under control of the old type systems . how we gonna have the power & force to change the old systems if each one of us on his \her own !!!

My brother had a similar vision to you actually, which made my family think he was mad, and I was the only person who understood where he was coming from.

He believes that in the future, the whole world will be too involved with technology and genetic engineering, that no one will have sex to reproduce, it will be quite literally mail order inseminations done by robots and no one will leave their homes or see strangers ever again.
I asked him how would this work out and he said as time goes on people will become more agoraphobic so will organise a way to get everything through computer and mail order, with schedules so that no one will bump into each other again.

Weird idea, I dont believe this will ever happen. But its one of his personal beliefs. I understood exactly where he was coming from with this, but no one else in the room got his drift.

He was saying imagine how terrifying it would be when this happens and a natural disaster damages your homes and you have to face other humans which you try your whole life to avoid. He had a point... space age is not going to be very good thing.

New age people are known to form good groups etc, I think the new age is about becoming more tribal and less space-agey.

It sometimes frightens me to think about our expectations of the near future (namely 2012) because of our collective global energies will make something happen due to our beliefs that it will. I've thought about the mayan calender's prophecy for some years now (before 2000) and once it did worry me all the talk of ENDINGS. I feel much differently now- excited, hopeful, thankful, etc... so long as [I]something[I] changes.

But if the global, essentially 'unknowing' world still believes its gonna be ALL OVER, then doesn't that at least influence the near future, if not create it all together?

I think its important to tell people that its not the end.

But there is so much hype and doom surrounding the date, how does one change the mind of the masses?
Plus I think its easier for the general population to believe in doomsday instead of a new age. So many have seemed to make up their minds already. I think its rather premature.

How do we even begin to show this world the illusion they embrace as real? Little by little? Will things unravel all at once?

this is a kind of seperation of one from another.its part of the evolution .

Are you saying that a far future evolution is going to cause us to separate ourselves from each other? And, are you also saying that our descendants will need to do that for some reason?

We simply design new systems that encourage each to have "his\her own opinions & way of living". In fact, we already have been, the US Constitution is one of the early tries, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights one of the more recent. http://www.un.org/Overview/rights.html

How could a system control people when they're all independent thinkers? It couldn't, the question is not how to control people, but how to make them free. I believe in the basic goodness of mankind. It's our artificial systems that lead us to temptation. They were designed with good intentions but have been slowly twisted to favor those who control the systems.

We all have a hand in creating the mess we've inherited. To say we didn't is to rob ourselves of our power to change it. This is a hope and a fear that lies within nearly all of us. A fear that we're really helpless to change it and a hope that we really can.

I don't think the old system can handle us. At least I know i can't handle the old system. NEw age is a broad term. I think the fundamental thought behind it all is that the current system is broken/wrong. To a degree I guess it is liberalism gone mad, but what ever gets me there.

think about the people watching shadows on the wall, thinking it is the real world. That is TV.

I really liked ur brothers prophecy and it is happening in some way, this greatly defines me at least and i cant wait till im the only human exploring the universe solo.

however there are some serious limitations to new age philosophy.eg.

that is a limited and fear centred statement so how can it be the truth?

i think its possible that everyone will get what they want, raven could get her whirlpool to another world while me and her brother could be traveling there on a massive space ship while zenO and freespeak create massive blocks of plastic for trade haha.

Every thought system, no matter how predicate, is limited by boundaries.

Definitely broken/wrong, and it definitely doesn't know what to do with us (and by us I mean anyone who refuses to conform to its rigid standards).
I think a new system is in order - but it won't be a system as we understand it - but one which is self-regulating and honor based and you'll be able to depend on it because you know that the people behind it are YOU, not someone "in government" but yourself, your neighbor, and the guy in the vehicle next to you.

I've run into some that don't actually, think that giving birth is a travesty etc. Brining children into the world is a dreadful thing etc.

Thought - maybe we're evolving in two seperate directions, a split of sorts, those who want to shed the meat of humanity altogether (a-la "Blasphemy", excellent book by the way if a bit depressing) and those who want to trancend to a more enlightened spiritual plane or way of being.

i think there is a pull in two different directions but neither faction is right or wrong.

this is gonna pull us everywhich way, scientifically, spiritually, sexually and socially.

some people will leave this planet eventually and all of there traits will continue to be magnified untill that time.

some people will stay here forever when there are many less people. they will be farmers and workers living a very simple life, beginning the new religions and becoming the artisans and musicians of the industrial revolution that will take place 10,000years from then.

i feel somethings similar to this.
