I think we are better at interpreting our own dreams and know that i usually dont interpret other peeps dreams, but i felt compelled to help you here for some reason, so here goes :

What i understand from your dream is this:
A younger, less mature part of yourself (represented by the party filled with young people and the young man who hurt you) made a mistake. That mistake is related with something you said in the past (represented by the left side of your mouth)... can even be from a past life, only you can know. That thing you said in the past hurt you more then it hurt others and it opened a karmic lesson to be learned (the injury). The chase and fear of being raped later on means the karmic consequence of that mistake (could be related to your husband, you didnt elaborate enough about it and you dont need to... the answer is in you). This is what your soul created in your reality to make you understand the lesson.

The man and the woman who rescued you are older, more mature part of yourself (you said it yourself, the man was like a protective father... since there was both a man and a woman, it means a deep and wonderful part of yourself, your whole self if you want). They are showing you this karmic loop is over. They made you understand all you had to do was to forgive and love yourself, all along.

I think this dream means you understood the lesson (because you felt the love and accepted it), and youre over this karmic lesson. Even if you have trouble accepting the love, you know deep inside of you its yours and that you deserve it.

there was a book I saw at the store that helped you figure out your dreams.( I still want it.lol) I do remember I dream I had form when I was a child( I am one of those people that remembers every dream they had) me and my mom were in a dark and damp street and this old lady with a knife and pure white curly hair was there some how she forced me to come towards her. then some kind of force pushed my hand up and she took the knife and stared cutting the top of my hand. I could not run away I kept on being pulled back towards her.my mom was there and she had this straight look on her face.she stood still like she was frozen solid.

I would just like to speak from my point of view but i am adding to what xzhia said because i thought she had some very good points.

Prehaps the man who save your life represents the masculine side of your higher self, you made them appear and protect you in the dream when everything got to much for and you couldnt handle dream life.

Then you said how this gave you the feeling that you could move on with your life and you probably felt like a child around these figures, your inner child. Curling up in the fetal position represents the buddha in the lotus in an imaculate conception of you-r-self.

I say this because i had a dream about having bandages wrapped around my head and i couldnt see,so i went to my mum and she unwrapped them for them. This is significant to me because twice ive had head injuries when i was younger, the second time was much less severe i remember getting the butterfly stitches removed by my mum while i was asleep.

The dream to me now represents my higher self unwrapping me from thinking so mch and being open with my 'wounds' to let them heal.

I think your dream literally represents you picking yourself up when ur in trouble and nourishing yourself.

Lately I have been having such clear and intense dreams. Every night I remember every dream I have as if it was a real life experience. They are very powerful and real. My dreams have always told me of the future and almost every dream I have will come true. I can also control my dreams as I am having them, and at times I'll wake... think about them and decide what to do next in the dream and go back into it as it I never woke.

Last night was one that was very weird and up setting to me. I dreamed I was hanging out with some young adults all younger than me having a good time. At a certain point one of the nicest guys came at me with a hot cole from the end of a marijuana joint and pushed it onto my lower lip on the left side so hard and so long. I freaked out scared and angry. My lip swelled up and became a huge buddlie round mark that made my whole face burn. I grabbed my lip and ran around showing everyone at the party what he did to me and each person looked at me and freaked out as if I was some freak or something. It looked SO BAD I cannot put words to it. I run crying down the street looking for help and someone to drive me home. I came across some train tracks and begged these Mexican men to give me a ride home because I had been abused and showed them my lip. They smiled and went quickly to find a car to take me in. I thought they would help me, but in return they tried to rape me and drag me with them down the tracks. I ran and tried to get away as fast as I could. I yelled at a man and woman in a truck at the side of the road to please help me, that they were trying to hurt me and that I had already been abused by someone else. The man told me to get into the truck quickly and the only way I could was to jump into the back and crawl through the little window of the truck. The woman was helping me with that. The man in the truck grabbed the other man who was chasing me and put a rope around his neck and started to drag him alone the side of the truck as he was driving. I told the man we were coming to a stop light and people would see him beating the man. He let him fall and we drove off into safety. I laid my head on the man's lap and wept and wept holding onto him as a child would to their protective father. I felt the woman softly rubbing my head. I asked to be taken home, but fell asleep before I could tell them where I lived. I woke in the man's house and he was making me breakfast and taking care of me in a way I had never been taken care of before. He treated me in a way I felt I never deserved. He hugged me and in that I melted into a feeling of safety and support. There was a feeling of real love and comfort I truly haven't ever felt before. I received treatment that I gave up on when I married my husband, I was treated like a real woman and I finally felt real love. I woke up feeling like there was maybe a chance that I COULD feel real love in this life time. I woke up wanting to move on with my life in a way I have feared in the past. Being with that man made my burn go away and made me feel I deserve better. Today has been a hard and emotional day. I woke up with a dried up bottom lip at the place I was burned in the dream, It felt weird to touch and numb in a way. I have this weird dried spot there now, which I haven't EVER had before. Do other people get physical marks from dreams upon awaking??

If you are good at interpreting dreams I would be forever grateful of what you may find about this dream. I am usaully really good at it myself, yet this dream took so much out of me, I find myself like a little baby again not sure what to do and where to go. I'd be grateful to no end for any advice about this confusing dream. I can explain it in more detail if you need me to. Thanks!
