    Divine commerce

This ad goes away when you register.
    Dear all,
This is my first post after my introduction. I ponder the universe frequently and deeply. It's my Scorpio side. It's my way. I write every morning and have frequent revelations. I wanted to share this morning revelation with all of you here to foster discussion and see just who is out there.

It seems to me that all human intereaction is a commercial exchange. Commerce goes far beyond the trading of goods. The word commerce used to be a synonym for sexual intercourse and so I take it to mean exchange of energies. Commerce is a powerful word right now because it calls into thought the notion of money and value. Scarcity, labor, added value, all the typical Marx stuff.

The main idea I want to get out is the fact that we have limited human resources: physical strength, attention, desire, pride, admiration, lust etc. All these physical and not physical interactions we can have with other come from our stores of energy and we can bankrupt ourselves by pouring too much attention into things that do not return the favor. In other words we spend too much for too little.

What is important to recognize in this vague equation is that there are things that are limitless. There are ways of being that have no bottom. These are the divine ways. This is love, acceptance, gratitude. We can spend those resources and conserve our energies for commercial interactions that are fair and balanced. We need to watch our attention, our desires because that energy can be easily squandered when it is not returned with equal measure. Instead we can spend our acceptance and love and allow our human minds to grow. This is metaphysical economy. Let God/source/whatever do the spending. He/she/it is richer than us all.

Let me finish by saying that any linguistic construct for truth is just that. A construct. My goal in life is to create constructs that facilitate understanding of the inexplicable truth for the benefit of all.

    Chew on that.

    Love,
    Derek

Altruistic but self-conflicting. The previous concept quantifys the second and you wind up with anamalous, at-odds impractibility.

To draw from truly divine resource you cannot measure or quantify the blessing. You do not pour a measure, you pour until you cannot pour any more.

I THINK I understand what you are getting at but I am having a hard time finding a way to charge for it.

    Thanks for the replies.

It's true this is a relatively half-baked idea. I think the bottom line of what I'm getting at is that we have reserves of energy (physical and non-physical) on a human level, but there are sources of energy beyond those that we can tap into, mainly acceptance, knowledge, faith, imagination and love.

It's not that these divine energies can be quantified, in fact that's the point: they can not. That's why they have power beyond what we can do on an individual ego level. It is important to feel the differences.

Here's an example. We can hammer at a job, we can give it all of our strength, attention, desire, intention, but if we do not approach it with love and acceptance, acceptance of whatever the outcome may be we may exert all of our resources and become exhausted. This is why people who love what they do succeed. It's not necessarily because they are better at the job, but they exert a different sort of energy into what they are doing.

You can feel true power when it is not difficult to do something. It's never difficult to know something, but it can be difficult to understand. Knowledge is divine, understanding is human. Acceptance is divine, control is human.

Recognizing those things that are limited (and this varies from person to person) and maintaining an economy of those energies for yourself will allow you personal bank to grow and help you move in this realm.

There is nothing new here, really. Know thyself, love thy neighbor, etc.

What I'm dealing with right now is a framework for myself to interact with the world. I find myself exhausted when I extert attention, desire, will and receive nothing in return. I give and I give, but do not receive in equal measure because I'm not careful about where I put my attention. Instead, I've been practicing allowance and love, focussing my attention on myself in meditation and finding places where my energy is more well suited.

Anyway, you do not charge for love, but the idea is that if you need to interact with the world, practice allowance and love first, only then spend your limited attention, desire, labor, control, etc. if you will receive the same in a healthy commercial interaction.

Oh yeah. And have fun. This is starting to bore even me. Haha.

    Take care guys.

    Namaste.

    Reminds me of Shakespeare:

This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.
