    Animals, my friends, dear loves

I really love animals. I know I am not alone in this. I am so lucky to live in a place where I see animals all the time. I probably see more animals in a day than I do people. And that isn't because I spend all of my time indoors! If I go to the coffee shop and grocery store, I still see more animals than people. If I go 45 minutes away for college classes, I still see more animals than people. I created this thread because I often have interesting animal stories that I want to share with people.

Animals represent purity and life to me. I get so much joy out of my interactions with them. My heart chakra expands big time when I am communing with an animal friend....

    <3

OK, so now my thread....to share stories....I'll start with one tonight.

There are a lot of cows out here. Huge huge fields and pastures with cows scattered about. Cows are one of the most beautiful creatures to me. I love their eyes and the way they walk. God, I see newborn calves suckling from their mamas, and child calves running about playing or following their mamas...so precious. I would love to have a couple of cows. Milk cows. Not for meat. For milk and for love. But anyway,....

I was driving with my friend down this long straight road in the center of the valley. The car coming toward me flashed his lights several times at me. I was like, "What the heck? A cop ahead"? I didn't see any cops ahead so I looked on the sides of the road to see if there was an elk herd near the road. (It was early morning) I didn't see anything. Then my friend says, "Animals. In the road." I look ahead and there were COWS in the middle of the road. I thought maybe there was a farmer crossing the cows from one pasture to another. No. They were just hanging out in the road. No farmer around. No broken fence I could see. Just a cow gathering in the middle of the road. As I approached them, they started clearing the way. Parting..some on one side...some on another side... (How long had they been hanging in the road to learn how to do this?) If a cow tried to get back in the road, there was this big black cow who would jump up and fight the cow back to the grass off the road. It was so cute. When I passed through, they all went back in the middle of the road! There was fresh grass on both sides of the road, but for some reason they wanted to hang in the middle of the road. NO IDEA what they were up to.

    LOL

So cute! I love Colorado!! I am so damn lucky.

Bunny in my mom's front yard.

We also have prairie dogs here. God , they are so effing adorable. Too bad they can carry the bubonic plague.

    Oooh, nice vista!

I love popping over to the mostly unpopulated hills of the east san francisco bay, the last time I did that about a month ago there were quite a few animals I don't normally see out here. The best was the fox that chilled on the road when we approached it. I got worried because it was right in front of a curve in a one lane road that people like to drive fast through. I had a bit of trouble convincing it to move to the side of the road. When it did, whoa. I've never seen a fox move like it was from some anime cartoon. A perfect slinking grace that slid like a snake to the top of a little mound on the side of the road. Stayed like that with him sending messages, and I could feel him sending stuff back but I couldn't make out any of the impluses or imagery with clarity.

The foxes I'm used to seeing are goofy Alberta foxes that will trot along side your car if you know the right range roads to travel. I really miss that place. Five minutes from where I lived was outside of town amongst the deer, farms with all the typical fare, prairie dogs, owls, rabbits, ice frogs!, ect. I really miss the long drives from edmonton to vancouver. Sure, sometimes it took 12 hours but when you see stuff like this does it really matter?

the only animal that is native to the northern part of north america I haven't seen is the lynx. Kind of funny, I've seen more bald eagles in canada than I have in the United States.

    A llama in town...

A few weeks ago I went to the coffee shop. Outside of the shop I saw a llama. He was hanging out there with a pack on. I figured someone was getting ready to go up into the mountains. The next day I saw the Llama outside of the grocery store! So I told my husband there is a llama in town. A few days later, he told me who the Llama belongs to. The guy is what we would call 'homeless', but homeless means something different here than other places. But not only does he have a llama my husband told me, he now has two milk goats! So now when I see this guy and his llama, there are two goats following along as well! Hehe...he's a modern day nomad.

I have noticed the calves that nurse off of their mothers right now are almost as tall as their mothers! It looks a little funny to see an almost full grown cow sucking from his mommy.

Last week there were several deer on my college campus. I don't mean off in some woody area either. Right outside of the student union building. I saw a mother and her baby in one area. It's so cute how they look to cross streets and stop to let people pass by. Then, there were two bucks! One was very big with like 10 points. The other was a young guy. They crossed the street and the big buck was rubbing his horns on a tiny bush in someone's front yard. LOL

I got an email from the school over the weekend that a bear had taken up residence in one of the trees on campus! There were all kinds of tips on what to do if you encounter a bear.

    So much fun

Well it didn't let me send the post. Or maybe it did. My post pretty much said I almost decided to stay in boulder I'm going to Colorado next week. But ill be closer to keenseburg. I'm excited but that pic from boulder makes me want to change reservations !!! I love kitties big and small... It would be nice to see a friendly face there too if I run into you hahah. I'm going with my fiance. I'm going to that exotic animal place there to help out. Donate money and take pictures to donate. Maybe write something about it. I love animals. Oh in that post I also said those mountains you took a pic of look like my mountains... We are neighbors. Utah here.

The little prairie dogs have started popping out. They are so cute--too bad they carry the bubonic plague.

There is also a pair of geese across the road from me. They were there last year too. She has a nest.

Baby cows are all over the fields now. The bears are waking up. Blue birds have arrived.
