    Music!

Being a sensitive soul hitting puberty was the hardest time in my life. My true nature was clogged and repressed by crippling anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and social anxiety. Trying to fit in was hard so I ended up conforming in a lot of ways. Not speaking my truth combined with following the crowd created a lot of problems. My soul knows deep inside that I am a very flamboyant, expressive, individual person.
When I was 13 my dad got me a bass guitar for my birthday! I fell in love with the sound and started listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers obsessively. I was amazed and fascinated by their funky vibe and flamboyantness. I resonated with it so much even though I was so reserved and shy. I started playing in more bands and playing more funk music. Through years of playing and learning how to express myself onstage, I've found my true nature, my inner child, and a side of me that makes me proud!
Today I am 21 years old and play shows regularly with my band. People admire my skills and are especially interested in me because I am a female bass player. That is the best part. Being able to express my funky side in front of a bunch of people is what keeps me here. If I had not started playing bass, I would be very lost in life. I love music!!!

I was just thinking today... That it might be neat to have sub forums under the general health section, one for women's and one for men's health. There are plenty of issues, physical, mental, social.... That affect either gender. It would be great to discuss and share info, articles and wisdom. I know that I'm constantly looking up information about women's health and it's always difficult to find more articles with a holistic approach rather than a pharmaceutical approach... And often times some sites are just pay-per-click trying to get you to buy an e-book to find "the cure in 10 easy steps". I feel that discussing gender specific health issues on here would be much more enlightening.

If there's enough interest in such, I'd also be more than happy to help out with a women's health forum too

Yeah I'm workin on that actually!! I've always been a live performer haven't had much recording experience until recently. It's super expensive to go into a studio and my lack of having a video camera hasn't helped... But luckily, I recently met a sound engineer & film maker since I moved to Cali who let me come mess around in the studio for free! I went in the other day to start working on some of my originals. My compositions are usually a mix of jazz, blues & soul I'll post videos when they finish editing them for me...

I took my dads video camera not too long ago and filmed a cover of one of my Fav songs, 'Turn Me On' by Norah Jones. I Not my best vocals ever, but the passion is still there Enjoy!

Congratulations ;-) excellent video, btw. I've been playing guitar since I was 11 or 12, and still play almost every day (mostly acoustic, lots of old blues, mostly fingerstyle, and some slide). My singing, however, well, lets just say it's a good thing I don't have any neighbors too close. Luckily with a lot of old blues songs you're just shouting, anyway. lol. I hope to see some more videos up soon
