    Stephen King Books

I love Stephen King! My mom and I love to read his books all the time. My favorites are Pet Semetary, Cujo, and Insomnia. I also like to watch a lot of the Stephen King book based movies like IT, The Shining, Pet Semetary, and more. Does anyone else like Stephen King too?

Big fan here - but you know, I think I really appreciate the books he's written since his accident more than te monster books he did before hand. There's more of a psychological twist to his more recent stuff, more thought out (Though The Stand IS pretty awesome!).

I must say though - I was throughly impressed by the Dark Tower series (my favorite King books) and how he was able to weave together his entire fictional world as sub-worlds in Roland's story, pure genius

I cannot finish one of his books to save my life because he's sooooo detailed. However, my roomie LOVES him. Her collection is ridiculous. The movie adaptations of some of them arn't too bad in my opinion because they're shorter. I have the attention span of a peanut so to me, his style is painful. However, she's read Insomnia 4 times since I moved here in October. She's had the book about 10 years and it's just falling apart. I just got her his new one like a week ago and I think she's through it already. She can go on and on and on and on and on for days. I love her, but it makes me dislike him even more. However, the man has an imagination and wit, I'll give him that. It's just his style I don't care for. But I'm pretty sure I'm living with his biggest fan.

I think Stephen King is a first rate author. My favourite would have to be IT. Never see clowns the same way after reading that book. His depiction of the terrorised characters when they are kids and then when they are adults is the best I have read. Beautifully done. I agree that The Stand is awesome too.

Has anyone read Insomnia? That one reminds me so much about Indigoes and our abilities.

A friend of mine has every one of his books. I saw an interview with him own, rather an odd fellow. His wife reads the finish manuscript first. There has been many films also man from his books. One TV series called Storm of the Century was great.

Stephen King is a great writer. In the Stephen King story "Quitters, Inc." a male signs a contract with a mob-run business that guarantees to cure him of cigarette addiction. The penalty if caught lighting up? You do not want to know. While not quite as extreme, the startup web program GymPact utilizes a similar scheme to help you keep people motivated at a gym. It you fail to live up to your commitment, the site hits you where you reside: in the pocket book. Article resource: Website makes you go to the gym, or pay up

Please don't hate me for presenting a counter-argument... but I've always thought of him as over-rated. Everybody else seems to love him. My mother & sister collected his books. I loved the movie "It", but I'm a huge Tim Curry fan, and he was just awesome as Pennywise. The only book by King I really liked was "The Running Man", and he penned that one under the pseudonym Richard Bachman.

i love insomnia and read the dark tower series as they came out (i also love how he tied so many books into that series)

once when i was a kid i had a huge epiphany after reading steven king until 7 am that he was writing about something that was real just not in our dimension, i had many strange experiences that year, including an out of body experience.

i out grew that part of me which was connected to etheral realms shortly after that.

they say fluoride calcifies your pineal gland, or maybe its that i started drinking and using synthetic drugs like ecstacy a couple years later. regardless i remember having unique abilities i can no longer access.
funny tie in...what i just explained is the basis of a few king novels such as "it" and "dreamcatcher" where kids lose their abilities as they get older. wierd how that just happened

Do you think that as adults we should regain those abilities? When I always read my books I tend to befriend the characters I like, and also talk to them while I am alone or bring them along with my earthly friends. I have never stopped doing that and I dont want to. I really like communicating with the astral realms

OMG I used to love his books! Never read the Dark Tower series but Bag Of Bones, The Girl Who Loved Tom Green, The Talisman and The Black House with Peter Straub, Tommynockers, Salems Lot, Misery, Desperation Needful Things, Storm of the Century....and saw the movies Silver Bullet and Deloris Claiborne....yeah really awesome stories! Used to scare me until I started to understand them.
Loving yourself has to occur before you can allow anyone else to Love you in return.
Sometimes I just want to spread my wings and soar....anyone else want to come with me?

I have never read any of his books, to be honest, but I've just looked into the synopsis of "Insomnia", and it looks quite interesting. Thanks for the tip winteranimeluv!

    Hardcore Stephen King fan here!
My favorite would have to be "The Stand", but the entire Dark Tower series is a close second.
I actually just started his book "11/22/63" this morning.
