I was contemplating today, like i usually do, on the various problems I seem to cause for myself. In examining my thoughts I came to certain conclusions regarding the nature of my mind. One of the problems i noticed in myself was taking refuge in things i could not depend on. This led me to consider why we tend to be so concerned with the future.

Why do we project into the future, one second to one year, for what reason? Obviously the problems that may cause bigger problems in the future are happening right now. Wouldn't it seem more practical to be concerned with right now?

It seems if we were to live based on our projections life would pass by in a haze of probabilities and in a state of waiting.

people cause problems for themselves because they focus mostly on the negatives of their lives than the positives, coz people have a harder time thinking they deserve something good to happen to them than they believe that they deserve bad. I agree that people cause problems because of the negative focus, but i believe there is more to it. Why do people focus on the negative and why are we unable to track down the cause for our thoughts and emotions. Where does this blind spot exist and why does it exist. Is the mind stuck in survival mode?

Maybe it seems strange to assume that we may have full knowledge of our actions inside and out but I do believe it is possible. I believe the problems we face each day globally and individually stem from our lack of self awareness.

No the mind isn't stuck in survival mode... the answer is pure and simple why peopel think negatively most of the time. You see from the moment you are born you are influenced by everyone around you, and most people think negatively. They may not realise that most of their thoughts are negative, and will deny it in fact... but, they are. They dont realise it either, but their veiws, perceptions etc on life affects those younger than them, especially children and babies under the age of 7. So quite literally a sunny positive position is neccessary around children if you wish for them to be happy and progress further than your self. I do believe if you want your children to progress spiritually and transcend etc, that you shouldnt let them go to school until they are at least 7yrs old. As psychologically speaking, the child is at its highest influences before the age of 7 and that by 7 their personality and veiws on the world is already established or have been damaged, depends on the kinds of influences they have endured.

So... I guess in a way it is a social survival mode, then... as if you dont think like the majority (and what majority says is considered the norm) then you are not accepted in society and that can affect your status, comfort, nourishment, freedom etc.

What about when they become older or are these childhood impressions permanent?

One more question. Can you give me an idea of what you consider negative.

For me negativity it limited thinking of any type.

limited thinking is negative, narrow mindedness, self criticism, criticisms of situations which has never happened yet, contemplating all things are going to be bad, or against you, when you cant be sure that it is, preparing for the worse instead of looking for the best... etc.

concentrate on your positives not your negatives... for example... instead of worrying that your ass is fat.. or if it looks big in something, just dont care about it at all... care about eating healthy yes, but dont care what your apperance is to others... coz to 50% of the crowd your thin and pretty... to the other half your fat and ugly, so what does it matter anyways?

instead of saying you cant do (what you want to do) say you can... because you want it so much... and you will do it... and you will find out what it was only excuses before, or lack of true enthusiam to do it... because I know a lot of people who can do things but wont, because they claim they cant... yet its just an excuse not to do it, because they are afraid to do it, because what will other people think... or they dont want to make anyone jealous, or make anyone else miss out on their time... or pure laziness.

The way i see it is you haven't really lost your free will, only convinced there is no other way.

This touches directly on my first question. Its delusional
for a person to think they have no free will. No one can come in and change your mind unless you allow it to be changed or shaped. They can certainly make it difficult.

As for the social norms. How big of a part do they play?

If a social norm is simply wrong, and many are, why is it not clear to the person. I think social conformity is more of a symptom of the problem than the problem itself.

The fact of the matter is normality doesnt exist, neither does abnormality - thats the concept that no one on Earth is currently ready to accept. Once they do, this species is limitless! Because there is no impossibilities and no limitations - once they fathom this out, the better!

This is wonderful , i agree 100%. There is no normality and there is no abnormality! Sounds like freedom to me.

we dont loss free will....we give it away...every day of our lives......until we are aware enough to stop it...
