yeah. its frustrating to hear my mother sit there and tell me 'don't leave your nice (office) job. there aren't any jobs out there. you stay in that nice job and stay safe.'

i'm not made that way. I reckon people who do bad things are frustrated artists or something? like serial killers or something...not that I'm saying i am one of those. but i'm just saying there would be conflict, you're right.

i'm always causing some kind of drama somewhere cos i need that outlet. that attention. ya know?

i'd like to see your paintings and stuff...

i'm right on the edge and nothing else is really working out so at some point i'm gonna have no choice and i'm gonna have to jump...
I did that last year... quit my job, my relationship, my whole life as i knew it.... I was effectively homeless with no income for about 2 months.
It was the most creative and exciting thing that had happened in a very long time. Wish I'd done it 5 years ago.

yeah my family peak out when i have one of my "moments"... they can't handle the instability of no income. i don't really care.

I have always wondered about serial killers/artists. funny you mention that.

Really? I did try this back in 2001 after my first play. I left my job as an estate agent, went on benefits and tried to write full time. It didn't really work out though. Benefits ran out and people needed paying. I guess I didn't go the right way about it. I don't really know what went wrong. Probably didn't help that i was drinking and stuff.

My life changed after i started exercising regularly and reading so much stuff.

So how are you earning your bread. how do you survive. i'm guessing australia is no different to over here. bills, bills, bills...

btw - have you seen the film Australia? it was pretty shit apart from the little boy...

well i just have a casual job about 20hrs a week, i supplement it with hairdressing and get cash-in-hand/food ... pays the bills and gives me enough free time to do what i want... haven't done any art for a while, my stuff is still in storage since i moved.. but i've been re-creating my life, so i have an outlet at the moment, when things settle down i'll need to do something arty again... either that or just destroy something so i have something new to fix hahahahaa...... jk.
I haven't seen the film no, is that the one with nicole kidman and hugh jackman? looks crap, probably why i haven't bothered.

Lets analyze Maslow's Heirachy of Needs.

Attention seeking would fall into esteem or belonging or both needs. Unfortunately, attention seeking can jepordize safety or physiological needs.

It is possible to make belonging and esteem permanent if safety and physiological needs are met, you just have to change how you view the world i.e. perspective. How is incredibly difficult to explain. You have to spend enough time self actualized to formulate an all encompassing perspective about life and everything. The power residing in the perspective isn't something that can be taught, but is experienced.

My nemesis is physiological needs, specifically sleep. Severe sleep apnea causes sleep deprivation that cripples me due to reduced cognitive function. Though handicapped in this capacity, I'm a very intelligent cripple.

Anyhow Neo, it is like Nike. Just do it! If you want something bad enough, go after it. Don't let mundane things hold you back. Enjoy life to the fullest. You only live once, so don't waste it. You don't want regrets. Don't think you can do it, know you can do it. While you are at it, aim as high as you can. Even if you miss your target, you will still hit near your mark and accomplish amazing feats others only dream about achieving.

ah.. Neo... this is now one of the few threads I'm welcome in.

in reference to FP's manipulation thread--

I regret nothing... if these guys won't wake up it's their goddamn problem.

I've reality checked all of this, I'm not out of line, and neither are you.
