The Delphi Technique, and How People Manipulate the Outcome of Threads

So, I came across this as a written form of something that I see not only here on I.S., but in many forums in different forms. Basically, it is something used by someone who is normally in a facilitator position, although that is not always the case, to persuade the conversation to their own liking. Basically, they want to make their opposition look like the bad guy, even if they are themselves the "bad" ones in the situation. Be aware of this indigos! Look for it, especially here on IS. Defeating The Delphi Technique The delphi technique and hegelian dialects are heavily exposed at www.freedom-force.org This document will give some ugly but useful advice in how to defeat the Delphi Technique. If you're not familiar with what it is - it is a manipulative method used by Governments, Organizations and Unions to cause a 'pre-selected outcome' at a meeting, event, or function.

Its usage is also implemented in any on line instrument such as a chat room, forum or newsgroup that has 'Moderators.' Here is how the delphi technique works (and boy its effective). It is based upon the Hegelian Dialectic of creating ones own opposition in order to manipulate that opposition to a unified consensus.

One exposing document from the Education Reporter accurately describes it: In group settings, the Delphi Technique is an unethical method of achieving consensus on controversial topics. It requires well-trained professionals, known as "facilitators" or "change agents," who deliberately escalate tension among group members, pitting one faction against another to make a preordained viewpoint appear "sensible," while making opposing views appear ridiculous.

So there you have it, - a highly trained change agent or facilitator is brought in whenever a dispute arises where a predetermined outcome is desired. The facilitator will host a meeting (on line or otherwise) to gather input from members of the group.

The trick is anyone who disagrees with the pre-ordained plan is segregated, rediculed and marginalized, while those supporting the ruling powers agenda is encouraged and praised for their 'activism' The key is that it is important that the members of the meeting or group get involved thus causing them to have the feeling of satisfaction that they have been involved in the change.

The sad reality is that the entire thing was only a mass crowd manipulation to a pre-determined end. Here is another example of what it is. The facilitator begins by working the crowd to establish a good-guy-bad-guy scenario.

Anyone disagreeing with the facilitator must be made to appear as the bad guy, with the facilitator appearing as the good guy. To accomplish this, the facilitator seeks out those who disagree and makes them look foolish, inept, or aggressive, which sends a clear message to the rest of the audience that, if they don't want the same treatment, they must keep quiet.

When the opposition has been identified and alienated, the facilitator becomes the good guy - a friend - and the agenda and direction of the meeting are established without the audience ever realizing what has happened.

Trap-Dooring the Change Agent The simplest and most effective method to defeat the delphi technique is for everyone in the meeting to know about it. I call it trap-dooring the change agent. Here is how you do it. Prior to the meeting simply make many copies of what the Delphi Technique is (and how its used).

That could be as simple as printing and making 500 copies of this document. If there is a 'facilitator' in the meeting, and you are reading this - try to see if you can see this tactic at work. Do you think this is a acceptable method of democracy where everyones rights are being equally respected?? I don't think so either.

Why don't we start with a polite question for him like “Are you using Delphi?” How to Diffuse the Delphi Technique Three steps can diffuse the Delphi Technique as facilitators attempt to steer a meeting in a specific direction.
1. Always be charming, courteous, and pleasant. Smile. Moderate your voice so as not to come across as belligerent or aggressive.

2. Stay focused. If possible, jot down your thoughts or questions. When facilitators are asked questions they don't want to answer, they often digress from the issue that was raised and try instead to put the questioner on the defensive. Do not fall for this tactic.
Courteously bring the facilitator back to your original question. If he rephrases it so that it becomes an accusatory statement (a popular tactic), simply say, "That is not what I asked. What I asked was . . ." and repeat your question.

3. Be persistent. If putting you on the defensive doesn't work, facilitators often resort to long monologues that drag on for several minutes. During that time, the group usually forgets the question that was asked,which is the intent.

Let the facilitator finish. Then with polite persistence state: "But you didn't answer my question. My question was . . ." and repeat your question. Never become angry under any circumstances. Anger directed at the facilitator will immediately make the facilitator the victim. This defeats the purpose.

The goal of facilitators is to make the majority of the group members like them, and to alienate anyone who might pose a threat to the realization of their agenda. At a meeting, have two or three people who know the Delphi Technique dispersed through the crowd so that, when the facilitator digresses from a question, they can stand up and politely say: "But you didn't answer that lady or gentleman's question."

Even if the facilitator suspects certain group members are working together, he will not want to alienate the crowd by making accusations. Occasionally, it takes only one incident of this type for the crowd to figure out what's going on.

You can see how someone could use this to try to steer a thread for their own agenda.. right? Like this guy said, the best way to combat this is to let as many people as possible hear about it, so they can become aware of what is going on. Heck, I would even call them out on it personally, and note this thread.. hehe

Hope this helps guys. Believe it or not, there are some that don't like what Indigos do or say, and they want to thwart us in one way or another. You don't have to let them do that!

I didn't mean that it was the moderators here on IS doing that.. matter of fact, the moderators here are mainly "behind the scene" guys. However, someone can come in with a "reputable" idea, and play the part of moderator, and carry out this same crap.

The more people that are aware of this, the more times they can see it in posts, and learn to point it out for themselves. Heck, I've even apparently been accused of using this ON THIS THREAD, which is an interesting way to be hypocritical, in my opinion. It's like now I'm supposedly the bad guy for bringing up the thing that.. I am doing? Wait.. some thing's not right here!

wow benares, thanks for that. i must be honest, being a sensitive i have felt that rythms are off beat sometimes. the ebb and flow of energies sometimes leave me with a feeling that is not quite good. i havent felt anything in the postings, i dont think anyone is offensive, honesty and difference of opinion is refreshing. but every now and again, a thread is being pulled into a direction that leaves me feeling like..gee that was wierd. i battle to put it into words but i do feel it in my gut. but so what i say, as long as we are aware hey, we can use intuition to sift our way thru it. love to all and to the is site xxxx

WOW! This has happened to me so many times on here, including my VERY FIRST INTRODUCTION POST!
The thing is, anyone who has ever read anything about indigos will learn that they will fight back, so it's pretty easy to get them all worked up. We have to remember our true nature, our loving helpful hearts.

All I have to say is, I am really said Juice is leaving and deleting everything. JUICE~ I haven't gotten to know you, but I am sad about it, I've liked many things you've said, and it's said to watch them be deleted, and I can't even write a message to say I will miss you! So, from someone you barely know, if you read this you will be missed, GREATLY missed! (But I out of anyone, understand).

I watched this movie called "just ask my children" the other day, it was just like this. They totally brainwashed these kids to send their parents to jail for child abuse that NEVER happened (true story-look up the trials of the 80's). They did the SAME thing with these kids, didn't let them give them the "wrong" answer.

Now that you posted this, hopefully more people will become aware and not allow it to happen to them. Iam learning to be nice, even when I feel my rage being tested, it's in our true nature to bring peace, I must not let them control my rage. If you are smart, you'll see the MANY reasons why they will do it and continue to do it. Just don't let it take you. And keep spreading peace.

(I worried a lot when I first saw this site, I thought OH NO!! Now they'll know all of our weaknesses and have access to us all in one place, they could control us so that we won't be able to follow through with our missions. I've noticed that the first person to post on a thread will lead the energy for all the other posters. So it could change the entire feeling of the meaning of a thread, if the wrong person posts first. I have had this happen way too many times to say. Just yesterday I think?

I see it happening to people who just join here. Others will shut them down if they don't fit just right. It's sad, I've seen people ask others to leave, and others will tell them they won't last long. People even told me how surprised they were that I stuck around after all I went through in the beginning. It's like when certain people feel powerful to anyone, others have to cut them down and push them away, tell them horrible things so that they feel unwelcome. It's just like school all over again, sadly I thought indigos would be better about it, and understand, since if you are a real indigo you have been treated like that your whole life, so who are these people who try to push others away who don't "fit in"? (strangely feels like the government, you know how they want us to all fit into little boxes all the same, I don't think indigos would dare feel this way, well I KNOW they don't!)

Believe it or not, a lot of the people here are not indigo. Maybe they were even born indigo, but they aren't anymore. And no, I don't mean ascending to crystal.. I mean descending. People come here, occasionally, wanting to undermine the indigo way.. so to speak. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the government

My point is, just don't believe that everyone here is an indigo, and has the best indigo-ish intentions in mind.

i hear you magdalene, but i dont agree with it all. i am a very proud indigo. i dont push it in faces but i was so excited to meet people who had felt the rejection that i had all my life for being "different". i am aware that this site is a target for those who hate "crazies" but u know i have learnt to sift thru it all. its like in the uncyber world. you have to learn how to be true to yourself and accepting of yourself and get past all those who are out to "get you" for being different. and i dont blame those who cant accept. i after all feel that controlling organisations are wrong although they are serving a purpose for those who need it at that particular time. we will never be able to accept others for exactly what they are, even mothers and children have a problem with this so imagine complete strangers. but yes i will continue to be part of IS until i think that i gain no more productive interaction from it. there is nothing to hide so i am not going to leave. and who knows, we might just influence someone positively somehow, even if its just one lost soul in need of a loving kind word. for that ill stay......loving light xxx

Thank you for that Benares - it is always good to be aware of subversive techniques for manipulating thoughts and ideas. Now that you've posted this here - I have to say that I recognized it immediately - this is the way the Government conducts business ALL THE TIME. Almost every meeting is conducted in this manner - I think they must send them all to management school (so THAT's what those supervisory leadership courses are for!)

i came here finding wonderful release, finding answers to why i could be so different, albeit some snippets of thruth were others thruths, i mixed it all up and bougth into nice utopianism i had wished for long. the real eye opener has been seeing indigo society go through the cycles and generations making me realize much about me and you guys.

we the new generation, especially the older ones are so coloured by idealisticly carved society and cultural upbringing which makes our views somewhat still fixed in terminological 'them' and 'us'.
be realistic about your enemy, be aware of infiltration vs. be all ligth and loving forgiveness, be our brothers keeper.

i fall into the indigo spectrum like a soar thumb, i want to belong to my long lost siblings but learned how to ridicule the incomprehendible, so i keep the unification and heart at bay untill i see some true unconditional love shining through that fabric of lingual determinism defining duality, caging us in it.

so why dont i lead by example such as my beautiful brother Benares?
i do in my personal 'degenerate' way, my personal trajectory is ascending and simultaneously descending into the pain body of mass consciousness, letting me know by multiple position the experience of the memefield we are collectively harvesting atm.

i am just as sensitive as you guys, but learnt to desensetize my relations to ideas, and when i'm online that is what you are to me:
ideal representation, minds struggling to see truth trough hereditary goggles,
i can feel the heart and being behind your words, but mindbent words take away from this being and that is what i see what we are finding out.

there are some voices here not accepting the chaotic, darkladen, secretive, ridiculistic, cryptic, governmental, deviations from norm (whatever local gravitation that migth be) , ideas of opposition, oppresion or unfreeness.
this is work to be released within, the without is doing it from within.
moderate and grasp yourself in others!

i have a hard time accepting socializing on terms that dont recognize the whole,
the indignations of 'other' however brilliant they may be, there just isnt room within the beholding judgemental ideal monster.

Interesting theory. I'm curious if anybody has any evidence of this actually going on. Obviously topics get changed, that's normal when people have discussions. But I'm curious as to who's behind this subversive plot to derail Indigo Society? Who's behind it (the government, reptilians, the grays )? Which users are behind it? What's the motive?

Things like this must be handled very carefully. We wouldn't want to go spreading baseless paranoia.
