    Let's STOP this madness.

Ever since I joined here, I feel like I have taken a back seat and watched the interactions, peeping up in conversation when I felt that I would be helpful.

More and more I find that the members here are focusing on the drama and spending less and less time on the reason that we've all come to this site. We need to get back to our purpose. I can't tell you how many important threads are being ignored so that the majority of people can bitch about whose been banned, why threads have been closed and the importance of not reacting to "trolls". Of course, those are all significant topics of conversation but I feel that all this forum has become is a place for that negative energy.

What I am asking of all of you is to reevaluate what you think your purpose is here in the forum. Is it time to let bygones be bygones? Can we get back to the purpose of Indigo Society? All anyone is doing is generating the negative energy, and if we are all truly Indigo, negative energy is never something we should be generating.

If you're one of the people helping fuel this fire, "mod" or other, you may need to ask yourself whether or not you can handle being a part of a forum. I question some of you in that aspect.

I'm sorry if I am out of line or if some of you do not think that it is my place to say anything, but just because I am "new" to this site does not mean that I am "new" to being Indigo or to my purpose. And I feel like I am supposed to say something.

Love and light to you all. Take this message with the peace in which it was sent.
    -Jamie Diana

    I respect your opinion.
But by being new, you have missed the dramatic changes this place has undergone in the quality of conversation and relationships in the past few months. You don't have the basis of comparison that is causing people to be so vocal in their dissatisfaction.
If you had been here earlier, you'd have loved this place the way I did. And you'd also be as frustrated as I am now.
It may seem like petty drama to you, but this place has gone through a major sea change and not really for the better.

I just want you to understand. I'm not trying to argue with you.

Purpose is found anywhere, it is not limited to one side of the continuum ... purpose is not bound by perceptions of positive and negative. I get what you are trying to say and I understand why you feel this way; nevertheless, you shouldn't assume the "rebels" don't follow their purpose or that the energy is negative just because it doesn't align with your purpose/perception.

I'm not assuming there are rebels, I'm not really saying that there are. All that I am trying to say is that the fighting is ruining the forum for the people who are here for advice. Think about how many useful people come to this forum, see the posts about banning and moderator bashing, and turn away? It just worries me that this attitude that has been lurking on the forum is turning people away and limiting beneficial conversation. I'm literally afraid to post any sort of thread because I'm scared someone is going to bash on it. It shouldn't be that way.

Post anyway. Why do you care what others think. There will be others who may disagree.. who cares. That shouldn't stop you from believing what you believe in. You will find ones who will support you as well. Post away if you have something to say. Girl just stop being scared and go for it. You can't stop others from being critical, lots of people think they are professional critics when really we all have our own opinions. Accept their opinion, doesn't mean you should change your opinion to theirs, people will speak their opinions, nobody is forcing you to change yours.. that's up to you.

I agree, but it's members responsibility to speak out about it and work together. Mods responsibility to get their act together. But like I said, ultimately, it's the owner's responsibility. Nobody has reason to just accept the false idea that all the corruption and negligence doesn't exist, and move on. Action needs to be taken. Just like with the cyberbulying that was persistent for so long. Action wasn't being taken for a really long time. I mean the report feature was an utterly useless button because that's how bad the moderation was. It's because of raising voices, and taking action that things are starting to change, and more action is taken on trolls/cyberbullies. I agree that they see all the drama, and turn away. You cannot imagine how long I have been offering solutions to this. It's been a pretty long time, and mods are finally taking the cyberbully situation seriously. So whatever it is that's going on needs to be resolved. Responsibility needs to be taken. Because ignoring the situation will only turn things in the opposite direction for everybody involved.

I have PMed the owner about the situation. Please do so too, and let him know your concerns if you see feel anybody is being treated unfairly.

Apple, great to hear from you JD. Don't be afraid though. There are many who would be interested and perhaps even helped by what you have to say. yes, it is true that some of the posters here can be legitiamtely rough, argumentative, challenging -- that is their purpose in life. To challenge the way things are, do a little disestablishment, speak their minds of what might be the suitable building blocks for a brighter future. Many are seeking. Some quest with a candle, some quest with a sword. With respect and good will though we can all get along, even if htere is radical disagreement. As for those few who will just trash unfairly -- well, tell yourself that That is Them and You are Still You.

    I'm saying there are rebels

Anyhow, like I said, I do understand where you are coming from, absolutely!

However, there is a cycle to IS, the phases come and go and return ... And those who are turned off by the phases they encounter upon arrival, may not be meant to be here at that point in time; you never know IMO.

I have a relatively good memory. It has gone to shit. Cycles or not, there is less and less activity in the forums after each major drama-bomb, also meaning there is less and less new content. This is not very attractive when it comes to the exchange of thoughts and information. It is also why it looks like trolling is rampant. It is kind of like scrapping the bottom of the bucket. The bottom is starting to show.

    Just being blunt.

There have been different people with good input and there have been others actually taking responsibility and putting effort into moving forward. And I definitely support good ideas and efforts that aren't in the line of turning things back into a trollfest or something similar to SN where all the trolls live in their stank. So all the good efforts do make a difference since it has only been very recently that things have gotten better. As this place was a complete and utter cyberbully fest for a pretty long time because of complete moderator negligence and corruption. I'm personally not in support of known proven cyberbullies who have become mods. But whatever. As long as they aren't acting out and they help out with keeping other trolls/cyberbullies/others of their ilk in check, then it's not that big an issue.

The only thing is that it's not about telling Indigos to ask themselves if they can handle being in a forum. They're not mods. Other than not being abusive towards others for no reason, posting freely, and expecting fair and professional treatment, there isn't really anything to expect a member of a forum to handle. No Indigo comes here to handle BS. There is not one Indigo who is here for it or should be expected to put up with it. Which is what effective moderation is for. If anybody wants to moderate, then it's in everybody's best interest that they handle moderation with a decent level of professionalism. Likewise, it's in everybody's best interest that members not feel reluctant to speak out when they notice something is amiss or mods are behaving out of line.

Sure we have our occasionally cyberbullies complaining when their cyberbully cohorts get banned. But at the same time, there are many real concerns brought up that are actually worth discussing for the benefit of continuing to move forward in better directions.

For a pretty long time trolling didn't look rampant, but actually was rampant. Even after SAM and GI were tossed, things might have been better without all their trash all over the place, but there was still a huge amount of abuse going on. Recently, mods have finally gotten their act together in the sense of actually starting to take the cyberbullying seriously enough to start taking action, so things are definitely alot better around here.

That is a patronising comment, Magonia!

I felt skillet's post was very fair and evenhanded -- it acknowledged that things may not be perfect but that abuse is not a constructive method of communication. What is "yawn" about that??

Yes. It's one thing not to misinterpret those who say what needs to be said without sugar coating anything. Including being able to discuss agreement/disagreement openly. It's a completely different thing to use manipulation tactics such as attacks, trash talking, and obnoxious comments on others.
