Premonitions feel like real life and that your actually there. I have had these before and there is a striking difference between dreams and premonitions.
Dreams are more like your can still feel yourself lying in your bed asleep and yet you really aren't aware your asleep.
remember premonitions feel exactly like real LIFE dreams on the other hand don't.
I have had many premonitions and many dreams and I knew which ones were dreams and which ones were premonitions because some premonitions I prevented and some I actually saw happen.

I guess its a matter of symantics, but premonitions fortell something about the future. Dreams that feel real are real and are called lucid dreams. You could technically have a dream that is a premonition or a lucid dream that is a premonition.Although from my experience it's easier to recognize the significance of a premonition if you are lucid because lucidity emplies awareness.In fact, premonitions can come to you when you are awake or dreaming. Now an intresting question I have regarding premontiotions and dream is. If you have a lucid dream it is possible to change it or interact with it. So, if you are having a premonition with in a dream can you change the future from with in that dream?

Hmmm - I think that some dreams are reverse premonitions - that is memories of things that WERE. You still feel as if you were there, it is just something that happened in (your) past.

Yup, I've gone really far back in time thrugh dreams.maybe to past lives but I'm not sure. When you go far back enogh it gets to be like is this the past or the future?

A realistic dream is a realistic dream. A premonition is a vision of the future, a kind of fore shadowing. A lucid dream is a dream in which you are aware and in control of what happens as you would be when you are awake. the thing is you could have a premonition when you are awke or asleep either way its still a premonition. I have been having visions like mad the best few weeks. Crazy things too just small things that don't mean anything at all really, but they are huge. Memories and future events. *fingers crossed* hopefully.

Just small everyday little things but they are so vivid so realistic it's hard to believe they aren't happening. They have and maybe they will again, the ones that i'm having are mostly future events. A few past memories.

Anyway I had an interesting one about the 2012 prophecy right before I learned about it. It was crazy because I had picked up a book about the mayan calander a few months before and lost it before I really got started. Then I had this dream where I was in my fourth floor apartment and I floated off of my bed and in my dream I thought, "here it is the earth rotation is grinding to a halt". My back was against the ceiling as I watched my bedroom flood all of my belongings were floating away with each gush of water. this went on for a while until I woke up. It was interesting that I wasn't scared. I think I was lucid and knew it was a dream. A dream that was a premonition. Shine

In a nutshell: I think the sequence of the dream has a lot to do with whether it's a premonition or not. If a dream jumps around, lots of different scenes within a short period of time, and basically feels "weird" or "off" it is a release dream. A release dream is a way for the subconscious mind to deal with things the conscious mind would rather not (confrontations and the like). Most dreams are release dreams. Premonition, on the other hand, is very sequential, almost orderly dream/vision, with a clear message accompanied by a sense of knowing. Lucid dreaming is when we become aware that we are dreaming within the dream itself and can affect the outcome of the dream, or wake up.
