What i have began to understand is that if you are forcing yourself to have lucid dreams or astral project your kinda pushing yourself away from it. Remember that we do our best work effortlessly but of course consciously. Be patient, meditation is the #1 Practice, the more you meditate the higher you vibrate making lucid dreams and astral Projection become effortless actions. Hope I helped! Much LOVE, PEACE, AND HAPPINESS TO YOU!!! NAMASTE

The best way to start is to keep a dream diary and fill it in as soon as you are awake before you get out of bed you could also use a voice recorder or tape recorder if its dark in your room when you wake, this will get you in the habit of remembering your dreams. The next step is to use some kind of trigger to tell you you are dreaming get in the practice of looking at your hands or turning around or switching the light on and off when something you are used to doing seems different it is a trigger that you are dreaming and lucid.

I have always had the ability to change my dreams, or dream about what I wanted to. I lucid dream almost every night. It is actually a wonderful experience and I go to bed each night wondering what tonight's experience will be.

One thing I recommend to people who want to improve dream recall is b-complex vitamins. Buy a bottle of these for like 5 bucks, and take one (or even half of one) before going to sleep. Make sure you get the kind that contain all the various B vitamins. I usually break them in half and take one half in the morning and the other half before bed. When I wake up in the morning I can usually remember several different dreams in great detail, and I attribute this mainly to the vitamins. Not sure why this works but it does.

Lucid dreaming has become a pretty normal thing for me too, for the last few months it has been almost a nightly occurrence. One thing that helps me become lucid - if you think you might be dreaming, try to jump really high into the air, levitate, or fly. Once you realize that the laws of gravity don't apply, you are lucid. Also, its great to know that you can simply open your eyes and 'wake up' at any time if things get too intense or frightening. Its a strange thing when you realize this, like you are conscious of two realities simultaneously. I am aware that I'm in 'dream land' but also that my physical body is lying in bed, and my consciousness can be transferred back and forth at will. fun stuff
