What's misleading if you don't actually read the article from space.com, is that the moon won't necessarily be literally colored blue. It's a possibility, but not guaranteed.
They call this a "blue moon" because of the rarity of two full moons in one month. So "blue moon" is just a label. But I can keep my fingers crossed for the conditions to be right to cause it to be displayed with a blue tint! So long as those conditions aren't disastrous but peaceful. Like if I was told, "you can see a blue moon, but it will cause a tsunami and wipe out half of Florida"... I'd rather just leave it be. Although, it would most certainly lower the Earth's population by a tiny fraction... it's just not worth it just so I can see a blue moon. Ya know?
