    Dungeons and Dragons

I just wanted to give a shout-out to the most epic table-top game in history.
    Me, I like to play as a half-elf battlemage/rogue with a TN/CN alignment.

Anyone else a fan of the D20 system?

Hehehehe, me and some of my friends used to play this!!! I played version 3.5? Pretty sure. We winged everything a lot and my DM's(I did a couple times) were ALWAYS HILARIOUSLY CRAZY. I hung out with a bunch of LEGIT pirates(lol I'm not kidding), and hung out at the pirate house playing DnD. XDDDDD. We did a lot of epic class campaigns(usually level 10 instead of 20 start), but normal, too...I liked switching around characters a lot(also, the DM's KILLED US ALL THE DAMN TIME). I ALWAYS pick chaotic neutral cause it's the most fun.

My best normal character: Human/fighter pure archery feats(pro!!!! hunter's suck compared)...pretty much unbeatable...worth 3+ characters lol, killed dragons in a turn or two before level 10 XD...we had some magic enchants in our campaigns, however...cause it's damn boring if you don't(lol, imo).

Best epic class(with custom race): Level 10 Magma dude/mummy wraps demon or something-monk?(unless they use dex, then I wasnt...forget), forget the actual names for it. Was pretty much a fire giant and I got 33 strength starting with all the crazy bonuses...so just face-rolled everything with obscene strength rolls. The campaign ended before I had too much fun with this one, but he was nigh unkillable...lol only character who never got killed.

I've had some badass rogues before, too. My DM snuck in a 100 ft radius explosive into my group(ridiculous), and I RAN/JUMPED/TUMBLED 99 FEET---PISSED ME OFF!!! lololol.

Somehow after that, we made a custom race based off of Super-Saiyans(sorceror with a werewolf template, too, ROFL)(lol awesome idea)...and well....I guess that was the best but I barely count it, cause it was so OVERPOWERED XDDDD LOL. I'm really good at making unfair characters, though XD lol. Of course, we always made tougher enemies to scale, pretty sure he died from bullshit, XD my DM's were meannnnnn.....lol

Good times, wish I had the time/group to play it with anymore, we all split ways since. Always made it hilarious/fun.

    DnD is fun as hell!!!

I miss doing campaigns myself. I'd give almost anything to do that again. Last campaign I was in was a 1x1 with a good friend of mine so we could pass away the boredom for when we had to walk across town for...things. One of my most memorable actions was when my character parkour'd down a 300? foot hole. Even taught gnomes how to make the first gun (in my friends realm) using fire runes in replacement for gunpowder.

    Man, I miss campaingning.

Well...I could start one, but I don't know squat about DM-ing.

Regarding DM'ing over the internet....hrmnnn....Shit's way more fun if you have a video-cam or something, otherwise it's completely text based(however, still fun and entirely feasible/doable). LOL @ rolling that. At the same time, cam's sound tedious XD lol.

    Ooooh halfway solution: livechat irc.

Hahahaha I'm not gonna lie I'd play once a week or something :P.

DMing is easy (done it twice), just have to know all of the rules(well)(I really liked 3.5)/be obscenely creative and make your own world. Being a DM is mostly about taking charge and playing "god" lol, whilst TRYING to be neutral...giving opportunities to die, and opportunities for epic reward. Simulating a "fair" world....errr unless you wanted an evil world. That's fun, too. XD.

Personally I much prefer just being that one character who pisses off the DM by surviving stuff I'm not supposed to, lol! Also, being a DM is about making sure all of the player-characters are balanced: I get nerfed a lot LOL. You're supposed to bend the rules(imo, unless you don't like to...combat/tactics I keep but the rest I throw out), so there's only the rules created by the DM, with books as guides.

P.S.: There's totally torrents for all the DM/DnD books :P

Too many rules to abide by - that's why I couldn't DM. I'd let alot of crap fly. My problem is that I can't think of a good story.

Lol, almost all of my DM's winged/bullshitted the whole thing as they went along XDDDD was great.

Like they had a general plan/agenda: kill some shit etc etc...hilarious maze/trap here...ridiculous hermit there...hahahaha.

It's easy to just adopt a world/conflict already created in one of the books, they're not bad and usually involve a lot of crap blowing up, etc.

I'd just find someone who wants to DM if you don't, though ;D.

Yes, but as I previously stated, I can't develop a story for the life of me, and feel more comfortable having another person DM.

    I'll try, but I don't make promises.

That being said - I established a new group for those that are interested. Can be found here: http://indigosociety.com/group.php?groupid=217

Never heard of it until now. A cyberpunk-theme RPG I could get into.
