    yet another indigo trait thread

yeah, yeah, another one. This is the only one that I found was a good match for me so maybe someone else will find it interesting. Apologizes if this one has been posted before.

The earliest Indigos born between the late fifties and late seventies These Elders possess the same capacities as the younger Indigos, but had a longer 'latency' period. . Elder Indigos are just starting to come into their real power, and act as guides, role models, and tutors for the youngsters who are now manifesting. .It is possible that you may know an Indigo, or be one yourself. Indigos vary wildly in their presentation. In the adults, there are two categories- those who are conscious of being an Indigo and are coming into their Inner power, and those who are latent, and haven't quite made that inner connection with their gifts yet. . But there will be that certain 'something' about them- a presence or charisma that sets them off from everyone else.

They may not be rich or formally college educated, but if they give you advice, or make a prediction or observation, they'll be spot-on. There is a depth of wisdom and knowledge within them. , they will see right into your soul. It is difficult to lie to them, . They have heard every lie, seen every scheme, done everything that there is to be done from the beginning of time.

The typical Indigo has a very high intelligence, but it is often masked by underachieving.. Our way of learning things is holographic. . We're wired that way. Our interests are intense and passionate.
Another one of the main characteristics of Indigos of all ages is an iconoclastic, sometimes cynical outlook on life.

We have an inbuilt understanding that what is reported on the media and through official channels is what they want you to know and believe, not what is necessarily true.
We are in possession of a very high functioning 'lie detector' capability- we can almost 'see' people or corporate entities being untruthful. . As a group, we are difficult to hypnotize unless genuine trust is established. We also have a low tolerance for hard-sells, logos, branding and trends, and are extremely difficult to 'con', unless we have become emotionally vulnerable through neglect. But it'll only happen once, if it does happen- if a con artist or manipulator rips off an Indigo emotionally, that individual develops an uncanny 'nose' for spotting them, and gleefully unmasking them.

In spite of our apparent cynicism, we also have an exceptional sense of humor, because we can see the absurd twists of cultural and social interaction.
Many Indigos, both young and old, have great affinity for speculative fiction, science fiction, fantasy, role-playing games, and other aspects of fandom. ..
We are in possession of a very high functioning 'lie detector' capability- we can almost 'see' people or corporate entities being untruthful. .

.. "What if?" is one of our favorite questions, and SF plays with it marvelously. Role playing games also get us out our 'skins' and the accompanying miseries of adolescence. Our game play may taper off as we become adults and enter the working world, but it never quite goes away.
Our love of game play also helps us to develop excellent pattern detection and recognition faculties. This helps us to easily solve puzzles- be it for recreation or in our jobs when troubleshooting complex problems.
We really enjoy playing games like 'go' or chess. We are quite capable of planning several steps ahead, and imagining branching paths.Indigos also like to understand how things work, and won't accept 'black box' explanations for the technology in our lives.
If we ask you how it works, we really want to know. Because of our abilities in this regard, we have excellent prognostic capabilities. If we say that present conditions will lead to something happening, please pay heed. We're usually right, and sometimes we'd rather not be.

Our marked capacity for seeing the 'big picture' or deeply viewing distant consequences can be a source of misunderstanding and difficulties for us. We tend to think in decades, not weeks, and in long term rather than in short term. We'd rather get rich slow than get rich quick, because we know that we could lose it all just as quickly. We like 'instant gratification' as much as anyone else, but we also distrust its quality. We prefer to take our time to let things play out, and do things right. We are not shallow planners. Money is just a symbol to us, and we have a hard time understanding why people chase it, and its status symbols. We'll drive a car to pieces, and happily live in a nice older home. Secondhand furnishings do not bother us- if it is functional, we'll use it.

Another manifestation of Indigo gifts is an almost uncanny understanding of different languages, even without formal training. This applies to animals, as well. We also have a very good musical ear.

Indigos are very good at changing their personality 'shell' to suit the person being communicated with. If they are in sales (which can be really tough on an Indigo), they are capable of making almost anyone they meet, no matter how diverse they are from the Indigo's own background, comfortable.

Many of us are left-handed, or ambidextrous.
Indigos have very rich and sensualist tastes in music, food, scent, color, and other sensual expression. Adult Indigos are often connoisseurs of music, food, perfumes, art, clothing, or other 'sense-dense' items. They are the ones who will be able to pick out many of the ingredients in perfumes if they have studied perfumery. They also like to dissect the various flavors in foods and wines. The same also applies to music- musical preferences tend toward 'high calorie' and complex sorts: ambient, classical, dense world fusion, jazz, and other 'iconoclastic' forms. Indigos can become a real authority in their chosen 'fetishes', be it food, color, music, or scents. They also have a love for tactile expression, too- loving silks, velvets, and other rich tactile expressions. They seek a certain spiritual 'presence' in the art objects they own, and also prefer it in their everyday lives, too.

Indigos are often solitary souls, preferring our own company to that of a large group. We prefer the company of peers, and would rather be alone than in a group of 'sleepers'- people who are not spiritually awakened.
We also need time to ourselves to recharge our spiritual batteries- even if we have highly social jobs. If. We tend to be very sensitive to noise, heat, humidity, crowds, and strong odors.. Indigos are also unusually needy of deep sleep, and can be very difficult if awakened abruptly or unnecessarily. It is painful to us- if you must awaken us before we're ready, do so gently.

Sexual intimacy is a take it or leave it thing for us- we just don't 'get' all the obsession with sex. We are not dysfunctional, but we don't go chasing after it, either. And if we don't 'get' it, we don't miss it. And we're not wound up in our gender identity, either. We are souls first, people of gender second..
Many of the Elder Indigos are either unmarried, divorced without remarriage, childless/childfree or both. The strong sense of mission that we were born with sometimes seems to preclude 'normal' lifestyles, relationships and goals.

Wondering if we are nuts is a major problem with unrealized Indigos. Sadly, many of the Elder generation of Indigos had problems with understanding and utilizing their gifts or coping with their sensitivities.
Older Indigos may also have problems with deeply buried rage- a leftover from their sometimes traumatic childhood. . This buried rage can surface in unexpected ways, triggered by unexpected events.

Older Indigos who have managed to evade the pitfalls of loneliness and isolation often revel in their eccentricities. Their sense of comfort and acceptance of who and what they are makes them attractive to others. They are often popular with their peers, in spite of their need for solitude. Part of it is their ready wit, much of it is their quiet wisdom. When they choose to participate in parties and social events, they often become the center of attention, whether they want to or not. This is because they have a natural charisma that attracts people. Beauty does not enter into this, this charisma is spiritual. They will often attract 'lost souls' who need a catalyst to break out of their delusions, or people on the verge of awakening themselves. Self-actualized Indigos are rarely dogmatic or egotistic- they simply live their lives, answer questions as best they can (payback, perhaps for all the questions they asked as a child) and gently steer seekers towards their own solutions.Indigos don't actively seek glory or status- and prefer to be followers rather than leaders. . They are not afraid to be the dissenter in a group- if they see the truth in something, they'll stick to it, even if others disagree. . They also are capable of seeing both sides of an argument, and are often called upon to mediate in disagreements. We can, and often do, argue with ourselves. We talk to ourselves a lot, too.

We intensely dislike conflict.. We preferred peace and harmony in our world, but had a hard time figuring out how to obtain it. . all Indigos, young and old, understand the underlying desire to create harmony, tolerance, compromise, mutual understanding and trust
Although it may sometimes seem like Indigos are out of synch with the common culture, this isn't true at all. In fact, they may be more in synch with the genuine reality than most people who are under the spell of popular culture realize. This often eccentric visionary capability of the Indigo is a great gift, for they can truly see the forest from the trees.

The Indigo soul, young or old, is unique to this world. We're not invaders, we're advancers. The work that we are here to do is for the benefit of all upon this planet, as well as the planet itself. Ours will be the first generations of humans who will leave the Earth better than we found it.They have an innate feel for the natural order of things,. Indigos aren't deliberately messy and cluttered, but they really dislike having to disassemble carefully created stacks of items or put away materials that they may need in the construction of their ideas and projects.

Indigos of all ages are also great multi-taskers. This may be mistaken for attention deficit, because to the observer, it appears that the Indigo begins many things, and then bounces randomly from one thing to another, leaving them unfinished. But if you look at it from a holographic point of view, you will see that all of these little projects are related in sometimes extremely obscure ways, and that all of them are thought objects and experiments in some line of inquiry the Indigo is exploring. .
This may surprise you, but many Indigos may eschew or quit college and either go straight into the workforce, or go to vocational school.. . When our mature gifts come on line, there will be nothing unknown to us. We will have the ability to literally pull what we need to know out of the air. We follow our own threads of learning, and often know more about certain subjects than so-called experts. ...)

Most Indigos will distinguish between their vocation (calling to Mission) and their profession- their career. Many will find some sort of way to combine the two, and will be very frustrated until they can successfully do so.
Older Indigos have an inherent distaste for big government and interfering systems, and quietly long for true independence from 'systems' like the economy, money, and salaried work. But they also have the common sense and intelligence to make these systems work for them, and understand that overt street protesting, violence and anarchy are not the way to go.

Indigos are generally not phobic sorts, even as youngsters. They can be frightened, but generally do not believe in monsters, ghosts, or devils, even if the household belief system encourages these beliefs. Insects and snakes generally do not frighten them.

All Indigos develop a nose for synchronicity and serendipity, and permit ourselves to be used by our Higher Selves as 'tools' of chance, to join a conversation here, a newsgroup there, read a book elsewhere, run into an article later.
What is really interesting is that these abilities will strengthen and new ones reveal themselves as the Indigo ages. Many Indigo psychic abilities are 'locked away' until the individual reaches a certain age- usually around age 28 or 29. . All Indigos will have an Dark Night/Awakening experience around this time. , where their True Mission manifests itself, and they have had enough time and experience as adults to try, test, fine-tune and learn to trust their innate psychic and intuitive abilities. .
The thirties are a decade of rediscovery and recovery of the extremely high-end psychic abilities, like instant access to the Akashic realms, real time remote viewing, Clear channeling and interaction with inner Guidance, instant assessment of people's thoughts and intent, deliberate synchronicity (sheer 'dumb' luck) simultaneous time-hopping (paralleling) and other intriguing Gifts. The healing gifts uncover themselves in the third decade also. These youngsters will grow up to become formidable healers, should they choose to fine-tune this particular gift. Most of the thirties will be spent discovering and fine tuning these spiritual Gifts. The fun really begins in the early forties, and the high power aspects of the mature Indigo begin to emerge.

A lot of these charactertraits I find in myself, and it makes me happy and more comfortable knowing I'm not the only one that is 'weird' or 'different'. I dont see myself as different until you size me up to a regular individual. As a good friend of mine has told me time and time again, I'm a marvel of perfection never again to grace the face of this earth.

    Thank you for the insight.

Yet another, but still it never ceases to amaze me how the different descriptions accurately relate to things I've independently thought in the past.

How incredible! I have been soul searching since I was a young child. I remember sitting in church, probably about five years old and I was litterally contemplating the universe. "What's out there?" "How far does it go?" "How old are we?" I knew I had lived before eventhough I had never heard of the term "past life." So forth. I look back and realize that was not a normal thought process for a child. Reading this exerpt is so enlightening to me. Finally something fits. Something finally makes sense to me. I grew up in the seventies and believe me when I say there was no one else I related to. I had gotten real used to being called "weird." I embrace it though. I love being different and that's probably what got me through adolescence. I often got bullied by girls I had never met or barely knew. Other kids my age would be in awe of how I would simply brush off the bully who I guess had such a "tough" reputation. I was like "whatever" and that person finally left me alone knowing I wasn't falling for their bullshit. What I am getting at is I have been soul searching since as far back as I can remember and finally something makes sense to me. I am an indigo! I have sooooo been in the dark for so long, ridiculed by family and friends, and finally I have had a spiritual enlightenment. I also love I am able to finally meet other indigos who can relate. Cheers to all!

    have absolutely no idea
Yes to a lot, but *Many Indigos, both young and old, have great affinity for speculative fiction, science fiction, fantasy, role-playing games, and other aspects of fandom. ..*

hardly. It just falls right into the category of BS for me. If it's not real, natural and connected to absoluteness - and it just doesn't compute - that goes for what is called anything mass-media. It's all droning on a saccharine frequency. And no matter how many archetypes they'll be putting into those mass-media efforts, you'll never know when they'll subliminally slip something in there that'll trickle into your subconsciousness. So - no way.

Reading through the article, I also paused at that quote. Nope, didn't like D&D or role-playing games, science fiction or fantasy? Beyond sitting through a Star Wars movie or an occassional book like Hitchhickers guide,
A Clockwork orange. Those were few and far inbetween. hmm...can't even sit through a Star Wars movie anymore...mass media sucks.

Did not really find out what I was, and started to use it intentionally, until I was in my late 30s or even 40. I am now 60. I had the gifts all along, just thought of them as a source of pain. When I opened them up and used them, the pain pretty much left.

I guess constipation is painful, no matter where it lies.
