Zen, I don't think you "hope" it's good year, I think you "make it" a good year. What do you think?
Happy New Year!
Hello GoddessAct, while I am not Zen I do have an opinion and shall share it. I intend to make it a good year but at the same time recognize that hope may well be a stepping stone to conscious creation. Shall we say possibly a lower form of creation or invocation. Those that help us or are ahead of us on the path of evolution cannot intefere with what we chose to create on either a conscious or unconscious level unless we ask for their help. It would seem that much of humanity still create on an unconscious level or chose to give their creative energy to those that are in leadership positions. We as a whole are beginning to move from this herd mentality but still have a long way to go. When we as a whole ( humanity ) are ready to leap forward we will leap the problem is that such opportunities come only so often. In that sense there is some urgency in the work while at the same time things are as they should be. A dicotomy of sorts but in the realm of sapiritual thought such things are constantly faced or so has been this experience.
now, I do have a question, when you speak above about a good year what would be a good year and how would a single unit of a greater whole go about creating such a year? It would certainly be interesting to hear many diverse opinions on this matter if everyone would be so kind as to share such. Thank you for this opportunity to express.

What is your name?
"how would a single unit of a greater whole go about creating such a year?"
Being selfless.
Develop your own leadership, anything that makes a single unit happy, make a positive impact on someone else's life.
GoddestAct my name is Doug and yours? Please excuse me as I seem to be in a questioning mood and understand because I ask a question does not mean you need to answer it. I agree with everything you have said but wonder if what these eyes see is the same as what your eyes see. I always wonder about that for some reason. I also like deep conversation and have not enjoyed such in a while so I was wondering if you see any contrast between being selfless and developing one's own leadership as well as making a single unit happy?
It is my experience that selflessness is a rather strange space to find and once found even harder to maintain. To begin with it seems that one cannot depart on such a journey before one accepts themself with love or love self. By thios what is meant is one must find balance with the darker aspects of self and come to terms with them in a space of love or learn to love the good , bad, and ugly of one's own character. What seems to make this differcult and somewhat complicated is that sometimes this is reflected back to us by others. When seeing thisa reflection we usually react from some lower emotion such as anger, hate etc. That would seem to indicate that our emotional or astral bodies have control over our physical bodies thus cutting us off from our higher selves. In fact, in my experience such action drains my energy which is not a good experience and it cuts me off from the higher energy which seems to bring joy. Joy being that feeling one gets when in a state of selfless behavior.
The cd I am listening to says listen to the soul and go with the soul's desire. That seems to be the path to joy or a state of selflessness. The connection to higher energy would seem to be through the soul. The soul then being that part of us that holds the key to selflessness, perhaps. Oh well, enough rambling about this void some label mind. Thank you for this opportunity to express. much love and light to All things in All places.

Well- I HOPE it is a better year- defined by how 2006 went--- my daughter broke her arm and has had 3 surguries to repair it, my sister was killed and my father was diagnosed with cancer.....
So will I add positive input?, I always do, I spend my days with kids doing wonderful things..... but I KNOW there is more to making a year "good" than only my input.
But I DO HOPE it will be a great year for everyone- by their own terms
I can relate to what kudzukit says, 2006 for me has been a year where circumstances out of one's control have taken over the lives of those in my household. So that is partly why I said 'hope', in the hope that the coming year does not trouble our lives with such lows. On a positive note however, the low times do help us to appreciate the highs more.
If I can get to the end of 2007 and believe that I've left a positive impact on all the people I've encountered and interacted with, that would be a good year. If I can continue to enjoy photography, my passion in life, and get closer to the point of being able to do it for a living, that would be a good year. If my fledgling photo forum continues to grow this year and brings entertainment and knowledge to others who enjoy the hobby, that would be a good 2007. If I can continue my journey to discover why I'm really here on this earth, to find out what my purpose is in life, that would also be a good year.
