To start the ball rolling, I don't have any tattoos. But who knows, when I next visit California, I may get one done.
This holiday week-end there have been quite a lot of programmes about the tattoo industry - such as "Miami Ink", "Ink Wars" etc. I can see this art/craft becoming much more mainstream as time goes by.
How about FM's? What are your ideas on this subject? Do any of you have tatoos, or do you plan on getting some done?Maybe some of you might like to post photos of your tattoos, if you have any, and possibly explain what they mean.

I don't have any tattoos, when I finish music school I want to get a music theme on my ankle... also I just got into contact with my birth mother and I'd love to get something small and matching on my foot with her.

Very meaningful for you, RAZTAZ. Look forward to you posting the pictures when you have them done.
thanks anything i have put permanently on my body i will have to have a speical reason for it. I don't think I'm a tattoo/piercing type of person but something like that would mean a lot to me. I love miami/la ink and i watch the shows all the time, think kat von d is a beautiful woman (love the stars around her eyes) just not really my style.

I have 4.... butterfly w/ a tiger's face on my lower back, sun on my thigh, stars on my lower stomach, & a koi fish on my shoulder. I also am getting a vulture done... they become addictive...
You are the wisdom, the power, & the light you seek. All answers lie within.
thats why i haven't gotten any, indigo addictive personality. Plus i was raised that the body is a temple and it is from god and you don't "defile" the temple of God. It is not something I subscribe to when looking at others but it's hard to break from that little family guilt thread always pulling me back.

Yes. Kat Von D seems to be a fascinating, strong and very talented woman. Her portraits have amazing beauty and sensitivity. Also her Japanese-style designs are very delicate and feminine.
Personally, I enjoy watching the guys more. I love their banter and the comeraderie among each other as they go about their business.
Thanks everyone for sharing. I would expect that the art of tottooing would be popular with Indigoes, because the best tattoo artists seem to embody many Indigo traits, such as empathy with the clients' needs and feelings, ability to express deep meaning in the work they do, bring healing through an artistic medium, sense of mission, ability to materialise more "soul" in the world through the medium of art, great creativity and, of course, artistic talent.
I'm perhaps taking a tattoo in chinese meaning "Black Dragon". Not sure if I'm going to add river to it as the Amur river in siberia is literally "Black Dragon River". Or then I'm just going to take a tattoo in chinese letters meaning 'Amur'. Was thinking of putting it on the neck. Was given this name and think it is quite significant in many ways.

Fair warning to the ladies who are considering tattoos...a story for you...
There was a young lady who got a small irridecent butterfly tatooed on her navel when she was 18. Very pretty. Very delicate. What she didn't know -was that when she got pregnant the butterfly morphed into *dramatic theme music *
THE MOTH FROM HELL.
"Death is a stripping away of all that is not you. The secret of life is to "die before you die" — and find that there is no death."
lol
there some more navel contemplation

Moth from hellOf course one needs to pick a place that doesn't change so much in physicality. Of course the body changes over the year and grows and so forth.

I'll tell you - being pregnant is the ultimate naval contemplation - nine months worth.
