I happened across this today and have to admit a mixed reaction here...

    http://science.howstuffworks.com/antimatter2.htm

They are finally publicly discussing matter/anti-matter reaction engines on a public platform. Bravo. They make interesting statements like "This is how this will work." and "We could possibly have this technology in use in a few decades."

The problem I have with this is much the same as everything else: what happened to thinking outside the box? How is it the only "way" we can conceive of to generate dynamic energy has to involve destruction/transmutation of matter? Again, not a mathematician here but I would think with all of the energy potential that one can realize in these reactions, one could intuit energy existing in a fashion that would be useful and usable without need for modifying and/or destroying the initial vector of the energy.

    Again....something to think about....

There's already countless scientists discovering ways to make energy in so many different ways. The problem is, the people who own the energy production now, don't want the stocks to go down. Money wins again v_v
