Hi everyone, I cant sleep so I thought I would post about somethings that have been happening around my house in the last year or so. I have lived here for about five years and not really experienced much in those years, we arent remodeling or anything but there are some strange things going on.
For instance, one night I fell asleep on my couch and my kitchen and living area are wide open together, there is a half wall between the two, so anything that happens in the kitchen you can hear plain as day and see as well. I fell asleep on my couch and I heard somebody walking around in the kitchen going through the cabinets, it was right next to me, so I sat up, thinking my husband was eating again. I looked over and nobody was there. That kind of spooked me, but I thought I was just hearing things so I laid back down and then again, I heard somebody, as if they were wearing boots, walking around and messing in the kitchen.
Another night, a few weeks later, my oldest son who is autistic couldnt sleep, so I laid on the couch with him and we both fell asleep. Again I heard walking around, but this time I didnt sit up, I just fell back asleep as I was so tired and really couldnt wake up. Then out of the blue, it was as if somebody took the table chair and slammed it against the floor several times. This time my son and I both woke up and both of us got up and looked around, nobody was there.
Another night, I was working late and came home, one of my boys fell asleep by the glass sliding doors that lead to our deck. Our deck is about 15ft from the ground and we live in the country. So he was sleeping in his sleeping bag next to the door so I left him there after I made sure the door was locked. About an hour later he came into my bedroom crying and upset. He is 7 years old, and he said , mommy there was a man at the door. I said, what? He said there was knocking on the glass door that woke him up and there was an orange man at the door, not really orange, but mist of orange around him, I said, where is he? He said mommy, he disappeared. So I tucked him in bed with me. The next morning he got up and told me again, mommy I got scared the orange man was standing outside the glass door and disappeared. He said, I was probably imagining it, because people cant disappear.
The other day, I was home alone while my boys were at school, and I heard somebody going through my sons toybox, at first I thought maybe a toy fell because he has alot of toys and they sometimes get piled up in the toyboxes. Then I heard a loud crash, I jumped up and went into the hall way, and there were toys in the hallway, which were not there before. I went into my sons room and nothing was out of place, but two toys that were in the hallway.
Another night I was up late and I was saying a prayer because I usually do when Im alone. Both of my boys were in my youngest sons room sleeping, and my oldest sons toys started to go off in his room. This was past midnight and nobody was in there for hours. here's the weird thing, there was several toys going off at the same time.
Another time, I rented the movie, The exorcist of Emily Rose and I was going to watch it by myself during the day. I put it in and it ran through the previews and right before the movie came on, the dvd player kicked it out. So I put it back in and again, it ran through the previews and then the movie started and then it kicked it out again. So i didnt watch it, just incase. When my husband got home, we watched it together and had no trouble.
Another time, I was sleeping and I woke up, it was about 2:30 am. I woke up but laid there in the dark for about 30 seconds staring straight ahead at the clock, out of the corner of my eye, at the foot of my bed, was a bright flash. I was taken back by it, so I didnt move and kind of ignored it, and then, again, a bright flash, as if somebody were taking a picture and had the flash on the camera set. The second time, I knew it was a flash and that kind of spooked me too because there was nothing there that could have caused that but my dresser, not lights, not plug ins, just my closet doors and dresser that has some pictures and a jewelry box on it.
Many nights I have woke up, to what felt like my bed moving or vibrating...I dont like to sleep alone. I could feel my bed vibrating(and no I dont have a vibrating bed, although I wish I did) and one time it happened and I thought, I am imagining this, and it started shaking more.
One night I was sleeping and it felt like somebody grabbed me around my foot and had a tight grip around my ankle, so I started kicking at it, but nothing was there. That also woke up my husband because he didnt know what was going on...I said, I think somebody just grabbed my foot. I could have been in a lucid dream state too, but I dont think I was because for one, I was already dreaming and whatever this was, felt physical and woke me out of the dream, but I wouldnt rule it out.
So these are just some of the things that have been happening in the last year, there might be more, if I remember them, I will post

"Death is a stripping away of all that is not you. The secret of life is to "die before you die" — and find that there is no death."
These seem slightly malicious more than anything else... ok, before I say anything else: What. Where. You. Thinking. Getting. Freaking. Exorcism. Of. Emily. Rose. With. All. This. Happening?I mean, maybe you're just far braver than the rest of us, but that doesnt seem like it would help the case. I'd avoid giving it ideas.
But as I said, this really doesnt seem very... inhabitant-friendly... I'm not too experienced in these things, so I dont know what other people should do, but maybe peace symbols distributed around the house might work? Like crosses, neverending knots, whatever; but rather than that, I'll pass the baton to some people here who [hopefully] know more.
Sounds like a poltergeist. Has this stuff happened before or only in this house? I suggest you find someone in your area with experience dealing with this sort of thing. You may need to do a clearing of your house. If it's a restless spirit that doesn't want you living there they may need help passing over. I would say move out but if I was in that situation I wouldn't want to just pass on the problem.
It doesn't sound like you are in danger, but it does sound annoying. There are things you can do yourself but I'm no expert and would feel much safer just suggesting you hire a professional to help you with this. I am sure there is access to the help of a psychic medium in your area.
Good luck, whatever you decide to do! I lived with poltergeist activity when I was 12-14 but no one besides me seemed to notice anything going on and I was the only one witnessing most of the activity. I went on medication and these things faded slowly from my awareness. I still experience these things now when I am not medicated...and sometimes when I am. Educate yourself and seek help if you need it.

I would say, yeah, I dont fear the paranormal, I have seen demons, heard spirits or ghosts, and have loads of experiences since my childhood. Why did I rent the exorcist of Emily Rose, because I like stories that are based on facts...although that movie might have been blown out of porportion, also I rented it last year before alot of this started happening. Oh, about the restless spirit, this is weird. I thought about this, so when my boys went to school one day, I lit a white candle and went down stairs(I have a full walk out basement) and I told the spirit to cross over, I thought I was maybe down there for a few minutes, maybe 15 or so, but when I came up, several hours had passed. Thats weird because I walked through the basement and said prayers in each room and then came up. Im wondering about the poltergeist thing because I went through a depression period for a long time and I was upset alot, alot of crying. Im wondering if that had anything to do with it....

That's a bit weird. Have you ever tried to contact these "things" before? Paranormal things happen in portals or with receptive people. Many receptive people try to contact them before they get contacted. This kind of stuff changes one's percetion of reality. Been there, done that. Once one experiences this, there is no going back. You will be stronger because of it. You can add it to your life's experience.
Ok, one thing that definitely works pretty well. Do NOT take it seriously or allow it to have any influence over you. Laugh, chuckle, whatever, but as you deal with it, talk very lighthearted, monologue and give humorous commentary and such. This is usually a good method for reducing the power of such things, they will lose power if you do not take them seriously. If, on the off-chance that this makes it noticeable and progressively worse, stop and re-think strategy.
Personally, I would try to go for some kinda epic showdown complete with Ominous Latin Chanting in the background, but thats generally not advisable for sane people to do.
agreed.
although when i was 15 years old, they just wouldnt go away.....and was forced to face it ...face to face...and sent it back to where it came ....
however this thing at the time probably was a result of the magik i was using at the time....
just remember....you are always more powerful then annoying things such as you have mentioned...they dont have power over u unless you allow it....
.......that which we are speaking of.
You have so much energy that you need to direct it somehow regularly. Some people listen to music, write compositions, paint...and as you said you also pray (which directs energy) and well, doing so can be the balance to your day. I have numerous accounts of signs and things around my life that tells me certain things, i relate to them and figure things out. Well, your occurrences have seem to wanting to "wake" you up someway or the other... Maybe you had a "grudge" and the dvd player was saying something.... just because it's inanimate or non-living, doesn't mean it has no energy still left inside of the original materials...everything is living, everything has energy (vibrations/waves) and so on.... just my thoughts and point of views...
i believe the same, these things happen for a REASON. Now who was the guy who said "For every action, there is a reaction"? You've reacted every time you sensed these things, and well now you're in a situated state where you need to figure these things out. Now being RECEPTIVE is great because it shows that you're more AWARE.
yes, i think you could be right David, I have been unmotivated about much lately...I was wondering that as well, thanks everyone for the replies

Have you tried speaking with him? I find these spirits are lonely, afraid and don't want to accept that they're dead, so they block it out. Tell him that you want to talk with him and remind him that he's dead. He may not like this, but keep reminding him. Then tell him that there's Love and Light on the other side, that he wont be alone and afraid anymore. Ask for help from the Angels/God or wherever you find your strength. Tell him his loved ones are waiting for him on the other side. You may have to repeat things over and over again, and it may take more than one night.
You should be able to feel the energy shift and his emotions change if it's working. If not, you may have to take a different approach. Ask God/Angels etc. to help you (you don't really need to ask them for help, they're always helping you, but this part makes most people feel safer). If you can consciously move energy, fill yourself up, get as balanced and grounded as possible. If this doesn't work for you, imagine a bright white light filling you up and ask for help if needed. Then confront him again. This time tell him to leave, tell him he has no right to be here and remind him that he's dead. Send light his way, he probably wont like this but it's for his own good. Keep sending light and telling him to leave. And I know I've repeated this enough but ask for help from the Angels/God etc. if you feel you can't do this alone. They're more than happy to help the both of you out.
These techniques are what's worked for me, it's strange, I haven't met a hostile spirit in quite a while. They came when I was into the occult, similar to Tears experience above, and since I gave that up I've seen nothing but friendly or neutral spirits.
I've heard these phenomenon explained a few different ways, it seems sometimes these "ghosts" are nothing but echoes from the past. Something very traumatic happened, like a father abusing his family, and all the emotion stays within the house. People who are sensitive pick up on this, feel and see the things that happened there. It also seems that this stuff happens when there's a young psychic child involved. I've heard poltergeists explained as telekinesis from frightened children.
I would only confront the spirit if you feel confident in your abilities. I can't guarantee my methods wont make things worse, but I can say they worked for me.

demons .....i dunno if i like the word so much....it gives them too much power...i thinks
energies that are somewwhat darker....
I would be renting out comedy movies. Where there is light, darkness can't enter. Space clearing also.
Can also request Archangel Michael to escort any wondering souls to the light.
Send love top the spirit-where there is love, attack can't occur. Feel fear and you make it worse.
Marie
I do, I have prayed for all negative energy and lost souls in the house to be absorbed in to the white light of the holy spirit. I dont think it is a demon, I have seen them, know what they are....Im not threatened by it, I think whatever it is, it wants my attention, then again, I wouldnt rule out it being something else, like energy that is unbridled caused by somebody in the house, although that wouldnt explain the "orange man" my son saw, but from what I have read and the feedback I have gotten from another forum, it could be a spirit, not a ghost as those are usually grey or hazy, but it could have been a spirt that my son saw.

Yeah this might be a wierd one. I was in my room one night and heard someone knocking on my door. I asked who was there but i didn't get an answer. The knocking contiued and I asked again. I then said to come in but no one that I could see entered. I was wide awake so I thought I couldnt be hearing things. The next morning My cousin who was in the living room asked me who was I talking to. I told her what happened but she told me that no one was knocking on the door. I havent been able to explain what happened that night.

Well, fear is rather unlikely to be counteracted, you know... Fear tends to not simply vanish permanently; its all fine and well to speak of it being taken in by light and holiness and such, but when the situation actually comes, you'll find rather quickly that fear hangs around far longer than that holy protected feeling.
And as for the 'orange man,' I would personally take it as a rule to be rather cautious when dealing with any multi-colored fog/mist/smoke surrounding something. That fog/etc is there for a reason, after all...
Why is it unlikely to be counteracted? If you're conscious of it it's easy to let go, assuming your willing to face your own pain and fear. I find when the situation comes it's easier to let go of the fear, since it's right there where you can see it.
Of course, most people are afraid of fear and try to avoid any situations that make them afraid and especially avoid facing the fear. Nothing stops growth faster than being afraid of what's inside yourself.

Like I said, it is extremely easy to wax rhetoric and talk about it like that, but in reality I will give anything that you will not feel the same way upon its occurrence. When something is suddenly presented at you directly, attacking you or creating the definite possibility for your harm, you do not feel 'there is the source of my fear, let me perform some introspection and remove the fear which is inside of myself.'
What happens in reality is that you become caught up in it in order to preserve yourself, and are not even aware of the concept of fear until you are safe again, afterward, in which you then realize that was what you experienced. Fear is one of the base parts of being human, and to have no fear means to basically lose a good deal of your humanity.
