    Exclamation More White House Scandal

Scandal at the White House. It's the main theme of that place! Anyway, for those who missed it last night on ABC evening news, turns out that the White House knew that Global Warming was a threat since at least 2004 and made numerous efforts to keep a report on that fact under wraps. The only reason we know about it now is because a federal judge ordered the release.

The fact that Bush and friends did this doesn't surprise me, but I am surprised to hear about it from corporate media. Every now and then, they get it right. But the unfortunate thing is that so much time has been wasted all because the rich and powerful want to stay that way at far too great a cost. And now the link to the article:

Doesnt suprise me either, but I think we have known about global warming far longer than 2004. Imo, just because the white house releases it doesnt make it any more true or false, the White House is full of lies, but we have always known about that too.

IMO When the white house releases it it means either one of two things

    1) either there was no way that they could claim plausible deniability any longer and they admit it to avoid being nailed by it later (the assumption of course being that they can contain the damage by going public).

    or

    2) there is something to be gained by going public with it.

    sshenry,

But when has that ever stopped the US government before? I mean bill came clean but look at all the cover-ups... something smells fishy around here and it's not the fish... since global warming is wiping them out!
There is an alternative motive behind this statement, there is no way that a federal judge can MAKE them release something. Look at the Sept. 11 thing, George AND someone else (cant remember) were interviewed together OFF the record. No one has power over the government, they just said that judge MADE them release it so it looks like the judicial system is in control, when in reality they are not.

Not to blast anyone who posts a response or to hint that anyone does not do their part, but does it not seem like it is in the individuals hand as much as it is in the hands of government to change? I am young but I have always taken it upon myself to try and keep a clean living. I agree that the United States as a whole needs to wake up about our dependency on fossil fuels and find less harmful ways to heat our homes and power our lives, but I must say, does not trash dumps and chemical waste harm our enviroment just as much as carbonmonoxide? I have had the honor of being in many different countries that make the United States look like a posted child for clean living. We can all do our parts at home, but the man next door may be the cause of so much pollution that it negates what you are trying to do...

You're right. And the man next door might hate so much that no matter how much you love you can't make up for it.

    But you still should :-)

Lol. I believe the media gives us just what they want us to hear. There is so much talk going around at the moment about global warming and 9/11 and all that, that it would only make it obious the media corperations were corrupt if they didn't say something soon. So, they have just given you a tiny taste of what you want, so you will feel satasfied you are getting what you need...

    Thank You Adalis ...
Ian ... unfortunately you are right about hate. To many people hate for reasons that would make your head spin. But I don't really mean hate, I am serious about countries other than the united states. I have seen plenty of aussies and few brits on this blog and maybe you have travelled to Dubia or Bahrain and maybe even Kuwait ... These countries are filthy. Yes they pay many workers to clean up daily but have you seen where all this goes. If the buried it (which would make me alot happier if they did) you wouldnt have to see it at the bottom of the ocean floor all around the coast. Or in huge land fills ( that quite frankley make ours look like a common family trash can). I am pro active in my life to help with global pollution and global warming ... but geez can I get some help from a middle eastern brother (or sister) form another mother!

Global Warming is a Lie. There I said it. It's an absolute lie. And it has only been perpetuated by the fact that we have our blinders on. That we have let other people think for us. And this is (as SSHenry pointed out) a move made for one of two reasons. And I personally think that it benefits them by making us scared of Global Warming again.

Why? So that we'll throw more money at the problem. And where does all that money go? If you know that then you must be one of the Powers that be.

Lies, lies, and more lies. We listen and we fear, we fear and we wait for someone else to fix our problem. And how easy are we to control when we are afraid?

Apparently the president can start an illegal war, steal a presidency, lie about global warming, lie about everything else and be involved in all sorts of scandals without being impeached, but a blow job is where congress draws the line.

rofl! I was just thinking that last week!
Now we get Bush out of the white house with a BJ... yes a woman's mouth can bring a President to his knees and kicked out of the White House... how Patriarchal society is that... now I'm really upset.
A woman can be the downfall of a President. Not killing thousands of your own people Oh No! A blow job can be the end of your career, what is this the 18th century!!!!!

If it's such a lie, why do people like Stephen Hawking acknowledge Global Warming? Check out this site and get educated:

    Union of Concerned Scientists
An association of scientists from around the globe, some leaders in their field.

Well there are other scientists that think this could be a phase. I think it may have started but due to our waste and stuff we've made something natural unnatural and dangerous.
Looking foward can you see what is there? Can you hear what is there? Are you ready for change?

Don't expect anti-global warming believers to respond to logic. It's a (IMO) bizarre viewpoint that is not based on any actual facts.

On the plus side they're also entertaining...

    "Global warming isn't real!"
    "The ice caps aren't melting!"
    "Sea levels will not rise!"
"It's a natural cycle! Mother earth likes it rough!"
    "It's all government propaganda!"

    "Why are my feet wet?"

Definitely an interesting idea... Canada would never go for it though :-) They're doing just fine without our BS.

    ROFL!!

"Sweeheart, can you get down the canoe? I need to paddle up the street for some groceries."

Seriously though, I don't believe that just because the government is now touting Global Warming as a problem that it ISN'T a problem (which I think is the automatic response for those who don't trust the government). What I think is that they have found a way to make money/gain power from the situation and therefore are milking it for all its worth.

In the meantime, did anyone ever see WATERWORLD with Kevin Costner?

I saw Waterworld, not one of his better flicks. Lucky for, it won't get that bad. Ok, I hope it won't get that bad.
